It's been over 20 years since I properly followed 40k, but your channel has inspired me to buy the 10th Ed. rulebook and once again launch the Sons of Saturnius back into the eye of terror. Hell, if I ever get into a position of having disposable income to return into the hobby and join On Demand, I'll do it, because global campaigns are pretty much the one reason I have ever played tabletop 40k (my cup of tea is ttrpg 40k xD)

Well, the timing was perfect for me jumping back into 40k!! Exciting stuff!!
Really excited to try this out. I think it hits that fat middle where a lot of us live in the hobby where we play competitive rules but with friends or at clubs rather than tournaments. Locking into a faction for a season is going to help me learn an army and hopefully spend less on butterflying between new shiny things.

This sounds really cool, great idea! I'm hving trouble deciding which army to lock myself into though, I've just started collecting Dark Angels and I'm enjoying them but I also LOOOOVE my chaos knights, daemons, and csm! Dilemma!

This is such a great idea! Hopefully I can get some of the folks from my local here in the US to join up and start tracking matches. Also love the idea of narrative leagues as well, we've just started Crusade games and it's a lot of fun. I look forward to my Dark Angels propping up the relegation zone.

This is a great idea!!! I would love you guys to run narrative campaigns using the crusade rules!!! There is a major lack of content support for the crusade system so would love you guys to start it and I think you could integrate it and do some great thing combining those together :)
I love this! Just a heads up on the rules page for the league at the end you have "Black Templars, Blood Angels, Dark Angels and Space Wolves cannot use the Detachments from Codex Space Marines - they can only use their own Index or Codex Detachment." - Deathwatch isn't on this list and I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not.
Ahh, nope not intentional, they'll need to use their own Detachment, will get that updated!
I registered and checked out the leaderboard and it appears pretty obvious that people are already faking scores and results.
That’s too bad but to be expected. The top player has 4 victories against the same player with the same points.
I hope people enjoy this and have fun with it as said in the video. I’m going to be pushing it for our group.
Don’t worry too much, those are accidental duplicate scores. They’ll be removed shortly (we always check duplicate scores here, so no getting away with that).

Love it, faction locking is a great idea. Would be cool to say allow a 3000pt list for a 2000pt league to spice it up even more so you don't get people hopping onto meta units as well or building uber optimised lists for 1 or 2 opponents.

@@patrickpersianni5314 TBD but from the sound of it, allows you to input your game scores, tracking data and providing some sort of global leaderboard, like in a multiplayer PvP videogame.

I’m very excited and I’m hoping to get some of my local players interested. I’m just curious, if there is a data slate coming out IE dark angels I’m assuming I won’t be able to adjust my list when points drop?
It's all explained in the League Rules (the links are in the description), but the short answer is lists can be changed on losses, and when there are updates ala an MFM or Codex
Sounds amazing. Quick question - if I’m list locked (great idea) and there are point changes that then push me over 2000 points, whats the plan there? Or will the seasons try and line up with datalslates..

Sounds awesome, well done team! Maybe I will have to pop by for a league game when visiting the UK in April. Quick question though, is it a fixed list or can you shuffle units around within your faction and points limit?
You can change your list during the season, whenever you suffer a loss or the rules update. There’s no limit to that :)
@tabletoptactics Awesome. I've been busy working on a custom marine army and it's very jumbled but is slowly making sense as I paint more units and learn some synergies.

Just a question to check if I understood everything: What's to stop a person from having two separate accounts (plus subscriptions) and submit fake results, messing with the overall standings?
Never underestimate the propensity of some people to destroy something beautiful that others enjoy.

Well we're working on the honour system, and our scoring system makes it impossible to win the overall league remotely, you'd have to come to an Offical TT Event, so the only person they'd be beating is themselves.

is there a way to have more than 2 choice of armies in the video game version of 40K? other than tabletop simulator is there a way to have more than just 2 factions fighting similar to the heroes of might & magic & age of wonder games
I never managed to get into WH40k TT more than just watching it, but I did start playing a bit of Killteam. Have you considered expanding this into other TT games like Age of Sigmar and Killteam if it's successful?
Absolutely. In fact Age of Sigmar is coming in a couple of weeks :)
I registered a World Eaters list (despite the recent nerfs!).. just not sure if there will be anyone in the league in my area
This resonated with my personal code "don't go Meta just Fun Better ". Finally my Ratling guard can conquer the world ....muwhahaha Mr Ratling army here we come .

quick question would it be possible to use the app for the Warhammer 40k video games or Warhammer 40k via the tabletop simulator for those who can't afford the official miniatures? just curious
Tabletop Simulator will soon work with an updated pin verification system (so users don’t have to share their physical pin remotely), no other games would work at this time :)
Just for my understanding - are you able to add the league you're in with your friends as well? Or is everyone all just pooled together in the 'Open League' and that's it. I looked for an option to register our local league and couldn't find it.
That kind of feature will be added a bit later, but yes personal leagues which feed into the global rankings is definitely on the cards

I love the idea, but I'm a little confused on a couple points:
1: Does this mean opponents can play remotely with each other (such as on Tabletop Simulator)?
2: Will there be a learning league for people like me who are still new and don't have people to play with?

In our next app update, you will be able to remotely verify a game, so yes, tabletop simulator would work.
No plans for a specific beginners league yet, but that is something we can do in the future :)

Yes, as per our league rules pack here: tabletoptactics.tv/league/ You can change your list whenever the rules or points change for your faction, immediately.

What happens if, during your league a new codex drops and like the world eaters codex points increase which means you are now over 2000 points or a drop which means to make 2000 you can put an extra unit in??
That is covered in the Rules of the League, namely you'd have to update your list to account for the newest rules/points, but a list change is allowed then (or on a loss, normally)
When you submit a list, are you locked to that list for the rest of the season? I wanna go Dark angels, but I also wanna use the new rules once they are officially out in (hopefully) next couple of weeks
You can change your list should you lose a game, or if there is an update such as a Balance Dataslate, MFM, or indeed a new Codex 🙂

You can submit your list from the codex (that’s what James is doing here), you’ll just have to write it up manually as I don’t think it’s in any list building apps at the moment :)

Would you be able to explain that process, if it's not too much trouble? I rewatched the video, but i'm still unsure on the whole 'find another person and playing together' thing
@Luzo14 You’ll need a friend who also plays Warhammer so you can play against each other and then record your scores in our app. In theory you could play a game remotely with someone on TTS but they need to be physically present to input their pin on your phone, so that won’t work really.
You guys should add leagues for The Old World and AoS to the app too!

Here is to hoping the subscription version allows viewing others list. At least view them during or after the match/tournament seasonal time frame.
While competitors apps will only allow those involved and paid into specific tournaments to see list.

LOVE this idea! It's interesting to be able to contribute to a large dataset like tournament results but not forced into over-competitive environments. I don't chase wins, I chase good games, and I think this is a very helpful tool. Thank you!
So there's the big open league, but are you going to be able to make your own league between friends or did I miss-understand?
Yes you are in a future update coming soon. You will be able to add yourself to a club, group or team and then filter your results by the group, ranking yourselves against each other, whilst also still submitting results to the overall league. This effectively creates your own league :)

Is there anyway to add games from other players who won't be part of the league?
Although as I write it I can see how that would make it hard to confirm that people are putting in real results.

We do require an active subscription to confirm real results, but the app is free to use, so it’s easy to download and join 😊

There's nothing to stop you using TTS, though you'll still need to get your opponent to verify their pin, which might be tricky online as they'll need to trust you with their pin, but otherwise just follow the rules (and perhaps don't give yourself painting scores) and it'll be fine 🙂
Will it support online play on tabletop simluator?
There’s no direct integration, but there isn’t anything to stop you playing on tts and putting in your scores from tts!

Are there any plans to add a 1500 Points (or similar) league?I know it isnt the main competitive format anymore but I tend to enjoy those games more than 2k
At the moment no, but we love the idea of a smaller game size for both speed, ease of access as well as needing to make tactical list decisions. Nothing planned atm, but never say never!
Are we able to create our own leagues or only what you guys create?
To be implemented later down the line, but yes the intent is to let people set up local leagues which feed into the global one (but then you can vie for glory amongst your own group!)
As someone who runs a local game store, can we use this app to run leagues with just patrons of our store? Would it be breaking any terms of service to take entry fees and give out prizes from that entry fee while using the software as an organizational tool? Can you see just the standings from a select group of people or can you only view the global rankings? Sorry to bombard you with the start of your FAQ. Would love to use it and support you guys but only if you see that as a correct use of your software.
There is currently no functionality to make your own league or club tables, but that will come in a later update, so yes we're absolutely on board with people using it for their own spaces. Games would still feed into the global League, but could be filtered/restricted for participants locally, and so you can determine who would be the champ in your own League!
We're even looking at reaching out to organisers and event spaces to run Official TT Events so their tournaments can contribute to League Rankings, though that's a little further off!
As for payments, it's your store, you've got to keep the lights on, this is just a tool 🙂

Will you allow us to make our own leagues?
That's something we're looking at implementing at a later stage, so you can have proper personal leagues for your club or gaming groups. The results would still feed into the overall worldwide league, but for local glory it would be bespoke for you!
Do you plan on adding any Age of Sigmar leagues?
Yes! This will come in future updates.
