"Fortnine is an obscure little channel"
Well, that didn't age well.
I just started watching f9 few days ago so I don't get the joke were they really small before?
@@Shine-zg4gg Not *that* small, they still had 170K subscribers at the time. But for comparison, a more traditional motorcycle review channel like Revzilla had 414K. Today Fortnine has 830K, while Revzilla is at 797K. They were pretty small but outgrew the competition, because of good and unbiased content.
@@pkhkp the efforts in these creative videos was not in vain!
I was about to say this, and a week ago they were on the trending page thanks to the Harley Davidson sale feature story, that has to be a first for a motorcycle channel in CZcams history
lets make it bigger bro. He is ther first one I would subscribe, like and comment without anyone ask me to. Just simply good high quaility content. so good
You can easily review any of the Italian manufacturers bikes, just visit your local repair shop, they're usually always there.
Bueno
That thought is always present when I dream about the 2019 Ducati Diavel. The stats of reliability I find on newer Ducatis are not bad though.
I don't care who you are, thats funny right there...
@silva1320 how many F1 races has Kawasaki won?

I just love how Ryan is able to make a better motor-journalist review of motor-journalism than the journalists themselves make of the motorbikes. This channel is a gold mine
In terms of writing, Ryan is the Motorcycling Jeremy Clarkson 8)
Did anyone notice that this just happens to be an awesome video? Like... concept, execution, locations, continuity, video quality, audio quality. Dang dude, I'll be watching more for sure.

audio-visual gags every 15 seconds, yeah.
better than some tv shows and movies I've seen 🤩
As a 74 year old rider I subscribe to your channel because I believe I am getting honest reviews and good information, this is refreshing in these times.
Just 70 here. Happily endorsing Mike's opinion.
I know a 72 year old who sings in the chorus with Mike and Doron
i agree!
I'm 63 years old and I'm also endorsing Mike's opinion.
I'm with the 70 club! I mean I agree. 😁
The script, the comedic editing, the performance, and most of all, the topic. 10/10. That was amazing to watch.

Best motorcycle channel on CZcams. I enjoy the way Ryan can use physics and math to explain some things, the production quality is high, the variety is great and the comedy works. FortNine has an original and innovative approach to motorcycling so it is not surprising it is approaching the million subscriber mark.
When a youtuber is so honest he even shows himself stalling.... Loved the video F9, definitely wanna see more videos like it
Yeah - there were so many stalls I couldn't cut 'em all out haha. ~RF9
I have begun making reviews in my insta page , very small channel just began , but honest , only inspired by you. Hope i succeed. And someday maybe ? I'll be capabke enough to meet ya guys and work with ya guys ...

"IN A BLIND TEST MOST OF THE RIDERS HIT THE WALL" 😂😂😂😂
.....aaaaaand this is why I'm waiting impatiently for your review of the 2019 Yamaha Teneré 700 ;-) (btw awesome job you guys do)
Going to pick up a KTM 890 adventure this weekend after finding out the T7 is 470lbs. If I'm going to ride a 400lb + bike, it's going to have to have more power and more features than the Tenere offers.
And he loved it. Granted I want the impossible. A 3 cyl 500cc small adv sub 300lbs
@@traviskimbrell1209 this is what I wanted to do …and then I ridden them both on the same day. T700 is occupying my garage space 🤭 next to the 690 😉 But let me say that first 2 weeks I brought Tenere home I made more km than in two years on 690
@@grzegorzgrotkowski6575 I see the T7 as a simple, basic bike for casuals and beginners so I get it. Kind of like an entry level adventure bike.
@@grzegorzgrotkowski6575 Do you think you’ll keep that 690?
Same thing happens with video games
Secant Ogive these are disturbingly similar situations

Yeah, it's an issue with all industries
Music industry does the same thing. Not just for instruments but live show reviews.
It’s everything actually
I have purchased a few things from fortnine based on your reviews, Ryan. You're one of the very few genuine reviewers on CZcams, and the quality of videos you and your team produce is incredible. Keep it up Ryan and the F9 team!
Watching Ryan riding that drz on dirt made me realize that he is actually really good at riding motorcycles
watching this video also made me realize that at one point in the video they run over a fleshlight with a car's wheel😆
Me too. And I'm Jealous, frankly.
I'm new to this channel and even watching these old videos feels amazing!
This is on point even for some big ass motovloggers who literally just go to the launches and do a video with the spec sheet in their hands... cuz they wanna get invited again. LOL
Phantom Rides free drinks, food and the extra attention from internet is more valuable than truth.
Yeah I think MrRegular over at RCR call them SD card journalists. The company just give them a SD card with prewritten articles they can just upload and publish immediately. A lot of outlets are just mouthpieces for the company these days.
Most Professional (if not all) CZcamsrs are in it for the views and sub count which means income. If you want on honest opinion about a bike, listen to an owner who isn't interested in views or subscribers. If someone asks you to like and subscribe, it's a good sign to evaluate their intentions.
Damn this really is one of the best Moto channels on CZcams, your videos are truthful and fun to watch
You have single handedly convinced me to move to Canada.
you guys have come a long way. says something about your creativity and your staff. now you are one of the most influential motorcycling channel out there, learned a lot from you on what to buy, maintenance tips and riding and safety. Keep up the good work guys.

Haha, same here, but it's still fun to try

You have the talent to go places Ryan. Keep up the fantastic work, and stick to your values. You make the most professional motorcycle content on CZcams in my opinion and I'll support you for it
You undoubtedly make the most reviews on CZcams. Keep it up, you're a breath of fresh air!
Admittedly, I wish you could do more bike reviews, but I do understand the difficulties involved. I, and probably many others, deeply appreciate the honesty, the time you put in, and the resulting accuracy of the reports on products you are able to review. All tips and tricks as well! What makes your channel worthwhile for me is the sense, that I get from your videos, that I'm not alone out here trying to get the best products for the way I ride and the meager money I have available to spend. So sincerely, thanks for all you do and the way you do it!
Nice work Ryan, and a really interesting subject - interesting what you say about getting hold of press bikes in Canada, I'm lucky enough to get access to some (not all!) here in the UK, but I agree, when it's a 6 hour round trip on a bike to the manufacturer's location to go and pick one up in freezing temperatures, I do sometimes wonder if it's worth it! Keep up the great content....
yes, i like what he says about bikes, just because it runs and is competent, doesn't mean its a good bike. I know farrr too many motovloggers that make *ALL* the bikes essentially sound the same. "Its a good bike!" Just to avoid offending anyone or to avoid burning bridges. There are still bad motorcycles out there(even in 2018)
I enjoy your videos, Missenden.

I honestly wondered this. I looked through a bunch of bike reviews after a friend wanted recommendations. Every single one of them had a review saying it was outstanding and usually suggesting/saying its the best bike you can buy. I assumed they were just weak indecisive people but part of me wondered if they'd been paid like so many other journalists. I remember looking a decade ago, I don't remember it being anything like this.
This applies to the whole dying "journalism" industry.
The thing that makes me crazy is when they call a bike "boring" for doing its job well. Like.........I think we live on different planets.
The thing is: that's the readers fault, or better the lack of readers that want to pay an honest price for a magazine. Free (factual) information doesn't exist. If you want honest, factual reviews, you have to pay an honest price, so that the redaction department can work independently of the publicity department.
Magazines are mostly funded through their advertisers not the consumer.
@@haveaseatplease car and bike magazines are full of shit. all of them, paid or free
Journalists? They're mostly wannabe actors and actresses who simply sell their souls for a paycheck. Do I look pretty on camera?
Hello R-F9.. a shout out to you all the way from India. You do ride every path.. however.. I'm glad that you opt for the straight n narrow one when it comes to moto-journalism.
Much respect n appreciation for the same.

Thank you for the honesty here! I was highly concerned that this was going to be your "Peace, I'm out" video based on the title. Keep up the great work and the honest reviews! I'm just down in the Seattle area and plan to ride up into B.C. this coming summer on my BMW R Nine T Scrambler.

These videos are so amazing, I am just watching almost any random one I can find from this channel to revel in the quality.
...and that, is one of the awesome reasons that I watch FortNine, my friend.
Great video +FortNine. Spent 7 years as a moto journo. Always struggled to get along because of having too much of my own thoughts and criticism not in-line with what manufacturers wanting to hear. Decided to go the CZcams path with my channel (Motolixious) and just work with whoever is OK with getting both the good feedback AND the bad, when there's such. Glad to see there are others that are doing the same, I do believe FortNine is the best motorcycling CZcams channel at the moment. Please keep on pushing the boundaries and doing what you do. - Asaf
This is the best motorcycle review and testing channel.
Great camerawork ,clever well produced and the only one I can truly rely on.
Love it!
That was one of the most honest editorials I have ever seen/listened to/read, etc. Ryan, you make us all proud of being motorcyclists, even if we're not moto-journalists.
This channel is by far the best motorcycle channel on CZcams. The amount of effort and work that goes into each video is truly incredible. Very intelligent writing, beautiful cinematography, amazing creativity, and a true and honest opinion that adds character. All of these things make fortnine so great. Please keep up the good work and bringing truth to the motorcycle community. It is needed now more than ever.
I absolutely love your videos. Do you have a background in film making? The writing, shots and music of each video is just beautiful, regardless of the great content. Keep it up, this channel will not stop growing anytime soon. Love it!
"Snowed out for half the year" It would be nice to be able to co-lab with some people of like mind in Australia/New Zealand so you had year round activity on the channel, no idea how that could work but we also have a deep desire for honesty and authenticity and not known to beat around the bush, well ruralites anyway.
Well, they're based in Canada, so I guess it wouldn't be a good idea.
New Zealand Yes. Australia Meh. Unless you want todo the DRZ run up Cape York Queensland, NXZ is the superior country to ride in.
I have no clue how you only have 1.4mil subs. Your channel has been so informative and the content and production is top notch.
Excellent writing, as always. Motorcycles have a certain romance to them. And you represent that brilliantly. Thank you.
Ryan, we need that outro song. Hell, we need the soundtrack to this video BAD! It's like some mix of mario sounds and wonderful synth and relaxation! I NEED IT!!!

and that's how the best channel is born. thanks for existing, guys. i mean, really. i don't even speak english as my native tongue, actually i live tons of kms away from you. but your channel is where i come to for oxygen and geuine motorcycle passion after scrambling through so many poor channels in my own native language -- brazilian portuguese, that is --, either because they're too quickly sold out for some free peanuts and suspiciously cheap wine, or just because they're too lazy to plan and edit their videos properly before publishing, like you guys do. so, again, thanks. you're an inspiration to many, perhaps far more than you imagine.
I only recently discovered your channel, and I just want to thank you for this video.
I live in the Philippines, and of course, in a fit of patriotism, I chose to watch Filipino motovloggers and reviewers first. But your rant is just what I needed after all their brownnosing. Thank you.
This is the best motorcycle show on youtube. Honest and straight forward. Humorous and informative. Going over things that one might not even think of. Not to mention the quality of your reviews which are like small movies on there own. The lighting, camera angels and scripts are top notch.
Thank you for the honest work FortNine. Canada 8s proud of you
That text scroll at 2:09 was absolutely hilarious! You're seriously gifted at making people laugh, and your honesty is seriously refreshing.
All that aside, I'M PAINTING MY BIKE RED FOR AN EXTRA 15HP!!
Even better just paint Seabiscuit red!
Did it gain 15 hp or more? I mean it's red, it should have gained atleast 20 or 25?
Like pretty much everyone else on here, I have to agree. I love your reviews and the video quality as well as the editing is beyond amazing! Even better than Revzilla! And the fact you are down to earth and honest makes it all the better. It's a shame you don't have 1 million subscribers and over a million views on each video. You guys make some seriously high quality stuff! Keep doing what you do!
Been watching for a year, figured I should go back and see how it all began. Love how the format has evolved, and basically has been awesome the entire time. Love it.

Bull#%^* Love it Ryan. You got it right.
What a bit of brilliant, off beat journalism. Well done. Wish I had found your channel a long time ago. Its getting to the point where fake news is more prevalent than real (honest and researched ) news, so its been refreshing to find you guys.
So I stumble upon this video months later after it was uploaded. But now I get why when I search for Ryanf9's reviews for a bike, I don't find it. But I really like your painfully truthful videos. I hope you don't lose the momentum ! :)
Yo Indian girl...❤️
Why is F9's video's so amazing! Damn Ryan, your stuff is always good. Keep em' coming.

The honesty of you guys together with the style of your videos convinced me to get into Motorcycling. Always wanted it a bit, but never enough to actually aplly for a license. Now I know, that I have to. And thanks to you I also already decided on which bike to get (first). An India Scout Bobber. But nbot the actual first one, as I have to get a 125cc first, train on it for a year, confirm that motorcycling really is a thing I want to do and then go for the Bobber.

You have my respect sir. That was one rough stretch of off road. I gave it up 30 years ago.
name of song at the end? Love your vids btw! amazing quality ive been watching nothing else but your channel for the last 3 days lol
Ryan,
I love these videos and I’m sure every one of your subscribers do as well. These videos are honest and to the point and since we live in a world where everything is ‘fluffled up’ and ‘perfect’ I would rather see the positive, negative and everything in between in order to be well informed in the products that I am purchasing. I would rather see your videos months after the product comes out and get a truly honest review than get something scripted and brainwashed just because the manufacturers want to sell units. This channel and your team is doing a great job creating content that should be written and not content that is ‘expected’ from the companies you review. We, as consumers want honesty and this honesty makes those manufacturers be accountable and fix their mistakes which in turn the manufacturers do not like! So keep up the great work and maybe these manufacturers will make a great product and be proud of their quality work the first time rather than just passing anything through the grate and hoping that the ‘sheep’ don’t realize their laziness and make a fuss! #notasheep

I don't think I learned a whole lot from this video, except maybe that press bikes are reasonably accessible. It confirmed a lot of things I would already suspect. It wasn't as informative as most of yours. However, the writing, presentation, timing, and editing of this are just spot on. There are so many little things you put thought into in making this. I really appreciate it. The text crawling on the screen was one of the most hilarious things I've read in a while. Overall an excellent rant worth seeing and hearing. Bravo!

Truly the best motorbike channel! Entertaining, informative and honest. And most importantly, most channels are all the same all the time. This is so different every time lol! Lovin' it!
The state of journalism in general had been severely compromised. I own restaurants, and while I dreaded the reviewers 20 years ago, who came on their own dime, now it's pay for play, reviewers don't come unless you're buying, and then they give you a good review. Back to motorcycle press, there's only one mag left, Motorcycle Consumer News, which has no advertising and so is beholden to only the junkets. You can extrapolate all this to CNN and what have you, if it's advertiser driven it's compromised. But motorcycle journalism has the double whammy of being driven by both advertising and press junkets, kind of like Fox. It's fake news. Sad!
Your're editing game is on point.
Dude, dont sell yourself short. Trust me,as a lifetime biker i value your reviews. As research for new kit or just entertainment you and your team nail it for me. You certainly have the talent, intelligence, integrity and backing to go places and i hope you do. Keep up the good work. 🙏
