- There's some easy ways to tell if you have a genuine GBA or a fake Gameboy advance game and I cover the basics in this video. Also check out the COMPLETE NES GAME Auction going on right now on eBay! ebay.to/3etgqfx
- Hry
I managed to get genuine copies of Metroid Zero mission and fusion for like 20 dollars total. Came here to double check and I’m shocked that they weren’t fake tbh.
That's crazy, what a find
Thank you. I recently purchased The Phantom Hourglass in mint condition for way to cheap. The sale also went really suspect but I still did it. And you have help me verify that it is valid.
Glad to help
Retro game stores will absolutely KNOWINGLY sell repro carts. I worked at one for a year that did this and I would just throw them away when I saw them in the display cases. The manager and owner would both say things like "most people just wanna play the game" as an excuse to mark them full price and not mention anything to the custumors. Retro game stores are terrible nowadays. Ebay is so much better in every way.
and here I thought it'd be safer to get a game stores. I think It'd be fine to sell the fake games at a game store, but trying to charge full price knowing it's fake is what I think is messed up. Fakes don't always work entirely and you may never know till the end of the game when it won't let you beat it. And then what? you try to return it and get this big ordeal with the customer who is angry, or trade it in and then they just continue the cycle, and risk losing a customer for good? You get what you paid for, and fake games should not be sold at authentic price in a game store.
Thank you, I recently purchased metroid fusion with the original box
When I buy GBA bundles there are always a few fakes in there. Nice video 👍🦀
Thanks for the video the recently gba games i bought i spot the fake one by looking at the inside cartridge as u mentioned. Nintendo was mispelled. I was upset. I dont mind getting the fake version but what bothers me is the sellers selling them as real ones.
This was so helpful 🙏
Very relevant in 2022!
1:11 metroid fusion 30$? that makes me sad, trying to find a copy and they are all 90$...
29.99 is the for the fake one.. i dont know why he even said that.
I'm personally glad that there are counterfeits out there.. I have bought several games knowing that they were fake. They played fine in my GBA, and would hold a save. Collecting retro is completely gotten out of hand and this will help bring it down for those who just want to play the games on original hardware.
Thank you, I was looking to purchase a rare game for a run, had to make sure it was original
I just be bought 5 cartridges off eBay for cheap this morning & of coarse only now stumble upon this video. Here’s to hoping they’re real
@@davidwanklyn8842 thank you for the advice, I'll definitely keep that in mind when purchasing games in the future
I looked at a beyblade gba game I think I bought from walmart years ago and it doesn't have an indented number on the front sticker area. Also, I thought the fake pokemon games didn't use the color cartridges but the normal gray ones, dam that scary.
My copy of Metroid has the Nintendo, and year on it, but I couldn’t find any numbers. The ESRB rating and Nintendo logo is clear, but the corners are a little rounded off (noticing it from authentic games. Would my copy of Metroid fusion be real or counterfeit. I only collect gba games cause I’m ant to play ‘em so I don’t care as much about authenticity. But it would be cool if I did
Is it normal for it to only say Nintendo above the pins without the date?
what's that music that plays right at the start?
Bought a leaf green copy for WAY cheap (like $30) and it's got every sign of being completely legit except the indent. Which is blegh to see it always has those
I have an authentic 2002 Pokémon sapphire cartridge and the manufacturer number is 10,will someone tell me is there only so many of this particular game made? Idk i just came across several gameboys and games that were my sons and I h😢been researching the values, but hopefully someone can explain the to me, it’d be greatly appreciated
Is that intro song Ronald jenkees .???
Lol Metroid is like $120 now. Only a year later
Is there any major disadvantage to buying a fake GBA game if you know it's fake? I want to get Kirby nightmare in dreamland but it's 4x the price to get a real copy
Depends on if you want to have something that collectors want. Then buy the real one. I prefer real ones, but at the end of the day it's about playing the game. I'd rather play it on the original console even if it's a knock off than play it on an emulator.
@@AndrewsArcade I don't particularly care about having a collection, I just wanna play Kirby nightmare in dreamland and a few other games on official hardware (I have a GBA SP on the way) without having to pay £40 per game
In my experience fake pokemIn games either delete the save files or don't work with other games (sometimes both since connecting my fake FR copy to Pokemon XD deleted FR's savefile).
i bought a pokémon sapphire cart 12 years ago for $20 and far as i know it’s legitimate
Dude, people are making counterfeits of like every game. I got my friends daughter a NINTENDOGS. The original, not even the 3ds version. And I'm told it doesn't save. Upon looking closer at the game that I paid 4.99 for, it was a fake! I didn't think I'd have to worry about a fake game for a game that's worth so little that you can find so easily everywhere! Like why? Haha.
Fusion is more right now crazy
Intro says DS game lol
Honestly though, what’s the point? I bought three Pokémon Games (Blue, Crystal, TCG) and they all run perfectly fine. I feel like there is an unnecessary backlash towards it if your just looking at playing the game

@@grumpmutt ok, your point? I bought about 8 real Pokemon Crystal carts because the battery died. I bought a fake cart 2 years ago and it's been working since then
@@bapjap
That's perfectly fine! If you're just looking for cheap games that are in good condition, the fake games might be as good as the original ones.
I just wish they didn't try so hard to make them look exactly like the originals. As a collector who is not interested in fakes, I would like to be able to differentiate between them. That's why I'm here in the first place.
