It's quite nice to see cartoon shows be realistic every now and again. To do something more than just be weird and actually show the audience something interesting. I miss when media helped raise kids to understand consequences and learn there is something beyond here and now. Seeing rebellious kids that are relatable and then see them growing up to be the same but still constructive in society is really phenomenal.
Man…THIS is what makes this show so much better than Family Guy. The heart this show contains and has is immeasurable compared to Family Guy and the characters are actually lovable and enjoyable
People really don't get Bart. He really wasn't a brat or evil or etc. He was a troubled kid with no parental support and was severely neglected for the golden child Lisa. Zero praise and constantly being put down. Plus with unchecked adhd and no parental structures I'm glad he turned out good. This episode made me really feel for Bart and completely lowered my like for the rest of the family except Maggie and Granpa Abe. I just wish the writers would give him a happier ending as an adult.
This is my all-time favourite simpsons episodes and ives sat down and watched all 700 its so emotionally deep and it shows bart and show barts child hood through a non comedic and showed how barts childhood and how he constabtly feeldd overshadowed by his smart sister
