    Great job with your illustration. It’s something I showed to my Facebook friends. That when a SHTF situation that titanium stood is a game changer with a cheap tarp. Great job. 👏

    Wrap a fireblanket around the chimney. Use A-frame configuration on tarp and close around the fire blanketed area of the chimney wrap. No stove jack needed 😊

    Great video, I tried making a tarp shelter once, it did not turn out well, I might try this one

      Thanks! Yeah, give it a try sometime. I really like how it’s fairly easy to pitch and doesn’t feel like it’s too low.

    I camp with people who modify their tarps into portable structures. The applicable part for this video would be careful grommet removal, Gorilla taping across the hole, (both in line with the weave and on the diagonals,) then hole punching and adding a sturdy steel grommet. This should be done at any point under high stress. Criss-crossing where the rocks are would also improve the longevity. Both sides is best if the rocks are sharp or abrasive, or if the tarp will be flapping a lot

      @grimgranite  Před rokem +1

      This is excellent info, totally agree. Gorilla tape is a must have!

    You can tie a guy line to the top loop and wrass it to a tree, peg down the front two corners and you have a mini plow point/tarp tent hybrid

    Where do you go where you are allowed to do stuff like chopping down trees for wood and such, like is it private property or is there like some places where people are allowed to chop down trees and stuff, oh also great vid, I sometimes have trouble following tutorials and such but you managed to break it down in a way that even I could easily understand, good job.

      I really like a 12’ X 14’ tarp for this type of shelter. 10-15 mils thick. Thanks for watching!

    How do you determine which direction to set up your tarp if you're in an area such as the one I live in where the wind is constantly changing direction? I use the method you do, dropping leaves to determine the wind direction but what I've found is the wind direction changes every 30 seconds or so. I live near the Blue Ridge Mountains and around here that's a real issue.

      Damn Autocorrect
      Appalachian(s) are the mountain range
      an Appellation is a name or title of something or someone.
      There are Tarp configurations that are more enclosed
