About Treetops Hospice
Treetops Hospice, the leading end-of-life care charity in Derby, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, provides nursing care and emotional support for adults with life-limiting conditions, and their families, and those who've been bereaved.
The charity provides support from diagnosis onwards for patients with conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and heart and respiratory conditions.
This year, Treetops is very proud to be celebrating 40 years of caring for people and their families in our local community. During this time, the hospice has supported thousands of patients with end-of-life nursing care and bereavement counselling.
Treetops has achieved this amazing milestone thanks to dedicated volunteers who help across the whole hospice and in the 19 Treetops charity shops, a hard-working staff team, and supporters, past and present.
Last year, a team of Treetops Hospice at Home nurses provided over 20,000 hours of care to terminally-ill patients, working day and night to give much-needed support.
Treetops team of bereavement counsellors provided over 4,500 counselling sessions - more than 900 of them to children and young people. Wellbeing team members provide valuable information and support to those who need it.
Treetops is doing all it can to continue to support those in most need and welcomes donations to ensure the future of the hospice and its services: www.treetopshospice.org.uk/donate

Good video. Can I ask, why 18mls?
This is really amazing, so concise and clear . Thank have really learnt alot. My question is if it has to be more than 2 medications, how much volume of diluent should be drawn and the ml of luer lock Syringe should be used.
Thank you for your lovely comments.
Please see the Derbyshire Alliance End of Life Toolkit (derbyshire.eolcare.uk/) for guidance on combining three medications in a syringe driver. The document is called - Palliative-Care-Syringe-driver-compatibility-v7.1-final-Aug-2020-CRH-DCHS.pdf (eolcare.uk).
The total volume/syringe size will be different depending on which medications are required.
NOTE THIS IS DERBYSHIRE COMMUNITY GUIDANCE AND TOTAL VOLUMES CAN VARY IN OTHER AREAS. PLEASE REFER TO YOUR LOCAL GUIDANCE.
