- For much of Tori Amos’ solo career, the piano composer and singer has always navigated the passage between the personal and the political. On her fever-dreamy album, "Native Invader," Amos adds a third element, bringing in the increasingly strip-mined Earth as both imperiled muse and guiding light. Her 15th album is an intense feast of melody, protest, tenderness and pain. Amos, one of the most successful, prolific and influential artists of her generation, comes to BUILD to share her process creating the album and the details of her world tour.

As a forty six year old straight white male I have been educated , motivated and mentally liberated bi proxy thanks to Toris beautiful lyrics and the compassion she always projects. I can honestly say that although I am in no way bigoted I was not always as delicate with my speech and completely ignorant about the struggles our gay and transgender brothers and sisters unfortunately have had to cope with not to forget the survivors who have found the love and support from RAIN. Frankly there are so many of us who owe a debt of gratitude .Tori has been an inspiration and life saving voice who when all the other voices spoke of anger , hate and self destruction there was the soft angelic voice pulling me back from the dark void that came so close to destroying me. I took my Brother to see the Manchester UK gig needless to say he now gets it .

saying all your music comes from ¨the muses¨ is just an excuse to get away with making another bad album. maybe tori should start ¨channeling¨ herself instead; if that makes any difference. ...and while she´s at it maybe she should start ¨channeling¨ god in order to help her stop with the over-production; and work with the right people; even the visuals/graphic design suck on this album, though the idea of a forest fire is not as bad as its execution in the form of the final album-artwork. i wonder if her record label pushed her to deliver more music, on a deadline.
