I am very glad he received the Emmy Award. He is definitely one of my favourite actors. I simply adore him, especially as Hercule Poirot.
He should have received a nomination at the most for playing Poirot at some point or another. I mean, playing that character for 25 years...Jesus Christ, that's dedication.
David Suchet is Hercule Poirot!
Yes!
NOPE! As anyone who has read the books knows, he is SOOO far off the mark that it is painful.
i cant think of any actor who deserved this award more then david, gz
Now when I read the books I know exactly who Hercule Poirot is. He is David Suchet.
+Ashish Thakur - No one could ever be Hercule Poirot after David Suchet. He was the definitive Poirot.
So good was Suchet that whenever I read the books, I too always envisage Poirot as Suchet and no one else.
What's also astounding is how quickly the Poirot TV Series hit the ground running. Most TV series' need time to establish a rapport/chemistry between the characters. Yet, in the first episode, The Adventure of the Clapham Cook, there's no indication at all that Suchet, Fraser, Jackson and Moran have never played the characters before. It's like they're all good friends and work colleagues.
If you haven't already, you should listen to the audio books by Suchet. He's absolutely amazing in them.
When I started enjoying the Poirot series in audiobook format I was pleasantly surprised Mr. Suchet narrated several books. I was equally surprised to find Hugh Fraser (Capt. Hastings in the TV series) narrated several more. His “Poirot” is astonishingly very much like Suchet’s.
I’m telling !! He is exactly what Agatha Christie portrayed in her books. So on point.
@@cyky497 I am shocked that you pretend you have read the books and believe that Suchet was "on point"! He clearly WASN'T "on point"..balding, bad accent, no green eyes, small mustache, and the mannerisms are, of course, totally wrong. It seems that you have NOT read Agatha Christie's books, but enjoy Suchet so you are stupidly, childishly, and moronically pretending that Suchet meets Christie's writings. This makes you look dumb...I hope that was your intention.
PS---READ Agatha Christie's books first before posting such drivel that makes you look uneducated and stupid.
Poirot would have been proud of David ;D
One of the very few best actors ever !!!!!
Oscar for David!!!!
Such a great actor, yet sit in somewhere way back which took him years to run to the stage and accept the award. Not fair!
he deserves every piece of popularity and awards! :)
He reallly deserved that award!
The one, the only one!
Ohhh my gosh applauds to him ohhh my oooo deserving...
He is the best...
Thank you David for Poirot. Wonderful !
He is the best
It's Hercule Poirot...they gave him seat away back. Mi God.
He's great!
C'est un grand acteur, j'ai suivi tout ses films 🇩🇿🌹🇫🇷
AAAWWW LUVVVV HIM!!!! CONGRADULATIONS!!!
Дэвид Суше, Вы лучший!
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
it's funny to see he can walk properly with arms beside his body :D :D
but yes, he's great, I've only seen him as Poirot but if he's as great in other roles then he's a very good actor.
Justice done amazing gentleman
My perfect Poirot
One of my favorite performers.
THE MOST deserving actor to receive that prize. ❤️
Fateci vedere ogni settimana, Poirot io lo seguo da sempre, e non mi stanco mai, amo i gialli, specialmente con questo attore, Davide
Awwww yay! Ik I’m so late but I’m so excited for himmmm💕🥺
My Hercule poirot, my favorite, of course I do! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
There can never be a better screen adaptation of Poirot no matter who tries it..This man made Poirot come alive. HE IS A LEGEND.
If Agatha Christie was alive she would have looked at Suchet's Poirot and said 'Thats Parfait'
Sure, if she was willing to accept a man who was balding (Poirot had a full head of hair that was parted exactly in the middle), a man who spoke in a ridiulously, unbelievable head voice with a terrible NON-Belgian accent (Poirot spoke in a baritone voice), a man who had a teeny tiny mustache (Agatha's Poirot had an ENORMOUS set of mustaches)....I could go on but I don't feel like doing so. Only a moron who NEVER read Christie's books would think that Christie would enjoy him.
You don't say that because you appreciate Agatha Christie or her books/stories. You say that because you have decided that you like David Suchet, and are stupidly assuming that Agatha Christie would like him too, despite the fact that she didn't write her character the way that Suchet portrayed him...SMH.
Good lord there did they seat him?! It's Hercules Poirot! 🤷🏻♀️
I met David monday night backstage of the Apollo Theatre in London (he played joe in All My Sons-amazing performance!)
a great actor
Quelle voix délicieuse.
Bravo
David Suchet👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
If only they could have put the tables closer together & placed him further back... :/ I bloody love David Suchet. Perfect in every role he's played.
💞💞💞💞💞🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏👏👏
The best poirot
I cannot imagine anyone else as Poirot.. love the shows.
Yes, the shows are fun. They aren't accurate and he obviously isn't like what Agatha Christie described, but he is fun to watch in his programs.
👑
L'acteur britannique que je préfère.Il EST Hercule Poirot
Poirot nostro dio.
Imádom
He should be sitting in the front of all those sitting in the front ! 😘

Poirot earned it
Dîtes moi si je me trompe mais c'est Judith light qui lui remet le trophée ?
I loved him in every hercule Poirot. I didn’t like him playing the terrorist nagi Hassan in Execution decision in 1996. It took me a long time to erase that killer out of my head! My healing treatment was to watch HP SERIES ALL OVER AGAIN!
El me encanta. Hércules Poirot,el mejor detective.
Éste actor lo encarna perfectamente
For a nominee the seating arrangements seem very odd, walking from the back of the room seems ridiculous.
Did he win the Special Olympics or is he a sommelier when he is not acting?
They obviously didn't think he was going to win because he was sat half a mile away!
Si lo iban a premiar porque lo ubicaron tan lejos 😂😂😂
ISSO FOI UM ROUBO!
AGOSTINHO CARRARA MERECIA ESSE PREMIO
BOOOOOOOO PRA VOCES
Hercule Poirot
for me Hercule Poirot will always be Peter Ustinov, even if Suchet is a good actor
michela derry
I just saw the two versions of „Murder in the Orient Express“ within 1 or 2 month. Watch the end of both versions and think again. But again, that‘s only my feeling, and Ustinov is a wonderful actor as well, no doubt.
It is always makes me laugh in astonishment how these people act like they just did something spectacular, you did a job which you were handsomely paid - you did not invent anything to better mankind nor did you save any starving children, nor did you educate and teach children giving them a chance to better themselves. All these people are a joke to me. You are entertainers, like a clown or a tightrope walker, a spectacle to distract.
