Ditto! I went to a spin class 3 days ago and decided to get my own bike for at home rather than spend $110 a month only tobe able to ride 8 times per month. As a total cycling newb, I had no idea how to pick a bike without spending an arm and a leg on a peloton. Thanks to TailHappyTV's awesome channel and this video, i bought this on Amazon and am anxiously waiting its arrival in 5 days! Hi... I got the Walmart version of this bike - 1 week ago. Had about 4 rides. Your review is pretty much spot on. I am using the echelon app to track Cadence and resistance while following along with Peloton classes.. The value of the bike far outweighs the small issues you noted.
The MAIN issue I have is the high end resistance. I enjoy steep, standup climbs but at its highest 32 resistance - it's about a 7.5/10.
I tend to ride never lower than 19-21 - and at 32 its a nice tough resistance while sitting - but just so-so when standing...but for the value - acceptable.
Worth noting - I ordered AFTER I ordered the Sunny SF-B1714 bike... still waiting for that to be delivered... then will have to decide .
The Sunny model via other reviews has a 40lb flywheel with great high end resistance - at around 200/more (here in Canada)..
As for this Echelon Connect Sport model... it's hard to argue the value for the price... and I might end up keeping it...
For your earlier review on this bike...I did not note any clicking of the flywheel nor the clicking of the adjustment knob or the momentary locking at 32 resistance..
    Question:
In Canada, you get a 6 month free subscription with Echelon - which I'll cancel at some point before the trail period - would the freestyle ride option continue to work w/o a membership?

@@Lipstickncurlsfitness Just an FYI... if you are interested in the Echelon Connect Sport from Walmart...
it WAS listed for Black Friday as 100.00 off Reg 699 CDN, 599.00 Black Friday sale
However, it is now showing as out of stock... Now WALMART might be holding back inventory until BLACK Friday. not sure..
My thought was if I keep the Echelon connect - I would see if I could get one at the BLACK FRIDAY price and then see if Walmart would give me the 100.00 difference.
The Sunny SF-B1714 (887.00 CDN with magnetic resistance)s slated arrive on Friday... still undecided whether I will just return - or set up and compare both side-by-side - then return one one.
The other Sunny Bike option from Walmart as mentioned is the B1002 model(Felt pad for resistance) ..
Although it's not magnetic resistance.. its gotten great reviews and I think it's flywheel is 44lbs so high end resistance would be there..
Its available at walmart.ca for 511.00(Cdn). Check out @TailHappyTV review as well as others for B1002.. most are very positive.
No frills... add a wahoo Cadence Sensor, join the Peloton digital app for 20/month (Cdn) and you are set... Good luck.

(01:35:29 AM) Me: I'll keep the other trial. I wish that was specified better when purchasing the bike The Echelon connects sport bike description is misleading. Many of us are finding this out. It says all the things you can do with the bike and then says there is a 6-month trial. Once you buy the bike get it and register it, they are not offering the 6-month trial. If you contact them directly they give you the same directions as you just tried and try to say you're not doing it right and get you to go away. after that they give you a trial that does not do all of the things but it is very restricted.

I think I'm just going to go with the ic4, trying to emulate my old studio experience with peloton. Good mangetic resistance you can see is a must, but the Echelon makes it rather annoying by having to look at both apps, and you have to turn it a ton. Weights and HR monitor will get use. Clip ins will get use, but may have to swap to SPDs on one of our shoes or upgrade pedals. Screen is nice, and there's a holder. Seems more comfortable as well, and easily works with zwift or anything else I want to use.
Sucks that its $400 more but I think it's worth it.

I have finally set up the echelon connect, though from Walmart. Coming from a star trac nxt bike, the only thing I “hate” about this echelon connect is that I was expecting that when you crank it to the max resistance, it would be that hard to push unless you’re standing up. This doesn’t. Not sure if I just have strong legs but when I turned it up the dial, it’s not the resistance that I was expecting. Ideally, resistance should not be dependent on whether the bike is connected or not but for the sake of discussion, the resistance levels remain the same. Aesthetically, this is fine for the beginners but for the competitive ones, I would not suggest this

For a 5'2" woman, 28.5" inseam, do you think fit would be okay given lack of forward/back adjustability of handlebars? Also, with apple watch, would i still need stand alone heart monitor, and finally, I'm no riding pro, and a bit of a woos; is the seat swappable for more cush? Finally (for real this time) could I not run both the echelon app for metrics AT SAME time as peloton class or youtube cycling video so only one device would be required? I like that you can get metrics using free version of Echelon app... Once again, great review! By the time I narrow down my preferences, all the cyber deals will be over, lol. That Joroto X2 your reviewed still seems like sweet spot for entry-level model, for a newbie like me. Cheers!
