I ask my grandma to stop giving me money as a gift, and she knew I really like this Sanrio character, so she bought it, and it was a dancing one and she made it hold money. She did the same thing
That's an awesome gift, Uyen! The fact you were able to still attach money to it makes it so much better as you were able to combine your culture with his.
This is so cute and just reminded me of a special memory. My grandmother was Austrian but I was born in England. Anyway when she was diagnosed with cancer, I went out to buy her a gift to show her I love her and because I was like 7 I decided to buy her a Psyduck plushy. My nan slept with that plushy EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. I retrieved it from her bed when she passed and I still have it now, more than 20 years later. Idk why but seeing this video gave me a good feeling about my choice of gift for her that day. 🥰 Thanks Uyen and German Boyfriend.
I am agreeing with you. I stumbled onto a short a few weeks ago and have seen, i dont know how many clips, and i came to same conclusion as you, and thinking " they need to be together forever ". And then i finally got caught up and learned that they were engaged - I CRIED, like they are people i know personally !!! ❤
Interesting how cultures differ on the kinds of gifts we give! For me personally I have to agree with the boyfriend here. But it's nice to see how others do it
What's appropriate regarding money and gifts can be so wildly different from culture to culture or even within cultures. For example, as an American, giving a partner cash money as a gift would be considered... unusual and possibly uncomfortable/awkward or even like you don't know the well. But it's perfectly normal for parents or grandparents to stick $5 to $100 (or more if you're very well off) in a Birthday or holiday card as tbe gift. The reverse wouldn't be normal at all though - sending your grandma $20 in a card would be very unusual for example.
In most of East and SE Asia including Vietnam and China it's customary. At weddings, birthdays, new years, you are expected to give children or the bride/groom envelopes full of cash or gold.
I personally prefer money mainly becuse it is difficult for other people to figure out what I want, becuase of neurological reasons. The problem is that I come for a culture that does not like the idea of money as a gift..... And gift cards are not as convenient.
Omg this Enton is sooooo perfect. But yeah thats why I hate gifing money or general gift cards. If I like a Person I like to think what they might like and get something for them that fits them and put a smile on their face.
I love your videos so much! Also your smile is so sweet! I'm visiting Germany in less than a month also and am preparing myself by watching a lot of your videos!
Psyduck = 100%
Psyduck with money = ⭐
you mean payduck 😂
Psyduck bringing Psybuck
I ask my grandma to stop giving me money as a gift, and she knew I really like this Sanrio character, so she bought it, and it was a dancing one and she made it hold money. She did the same thing
Psyduck + Money = shiny psyduck
That is romantic ❤
"Ok, but you still get money.” 😂😂
Shhhhh it moved so it doesn’t count
LOL
A gift from Vietnamese roots to German boyfriend 😄
she got him the perfect gift
Was once asked to not buy a gift. I made one instead 😊
Uyen literally said, "I'm gonna be giving you money and still prove I know you the best."😂
Best comment 😂
His little voice Crack at the end of "how well you know me" sounds so sincere and precious T -T
As *soon* as he said, "Something that shows me how well you know me" - I went, "POKÉMON MERCH!"
Honestly! If my partner got me fun pkmn merch for my birthday I’d be so happy lol.
Turns out we ALL know her husband well 😂😂😂
Id kill for my partner if they got me pokemon cards @@DoKuShOsTaR
Aww, I figured it was more fossils. I love the dinosaur poop gift she got him.
Honestly thought she was going to go out and pick up a rock lol
She gave you the best of both worlds 😆😆😆
40 bucks and a Psyduck, seems like a good birthday
That's an awesome gift, Uyen! The fact you were able to still attach money to it makes it so much better as you were able to combine your culture with his.
That's the happiest German I've ever heard. Whenever we get my grandpa something, all he says is a very monotone "vielen Dank".
Ok but as a German that is insanely nice of him.
"Vielen Dank" is so so much better than a simple "Danke" or "Dankeschön". Grandpa loves you!
that is humbleness
Have you ever tried giving your grandad a psyduck toy with €40 strapped to it?
He is old right? He is tired
Maybe you need to have his gift rain money.
Aww, Uyenn doubling the gift for German Boyfriend/Fiancee😂
Her little princess
They are so cute! She is practical and it is Asian thing.

That's so sweet. Your story brought a tear to my eye. Bless your grandmother, may she be resting in peace and happiness.
"I want something physical!"
Cash is physical 🤨
Look some of us germans will forever stay a child on the inside and we just love the sensation of unwrapping a gift 😂
@@AudioYT Valid 😂
@@AudioYT Some of us Everywhere!😅
Maybe she was transferring it into his account though, so - not physical. 😅 (joking...)
Physical that shows you know me. Cash is not a physical thing that shows you know the person.
The way he said "this is awesome" was adorable lol and hbd !!! 🎂
Psyduck has given German BF psychic damage so he can accept money it’s waving.
Best gift ever. Hands down

Happy Birthday to you 🎂 💛
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday!🎉
Happy birthday my dear 😊
A hidden technique : Ask the people what they'd like.
Ask them to guess what they got you, get them the thing they are most excited about guessing
They usually tell you they dont want anything
Unless they are kids
That might work on Caucasians but not Asians.
She's so lovely when she smiles.
OKay but THAT was adorable.
Nice, his reaction is too funny. I wish I had someone so sweet. 😂❤
❤

Interesting how cultures differ on the kinds of gifts we give! For me personally I have to agree with the boyfriend here. But it's nice to see how others do it
I knew this would get clipped when I saw this original video and Im so glad this was recommended to me. His face at the very end is priceless 😭😂
So great, what a wonderful duck! I love It.
It’s rude in my family/parts of my culture to give money as a gift to individuals you know well. I relate lol

This is the most simple man I have ever seen:>>
She was like okay here BOOM !!
Happy birthday!! German fiance 🎉🎉
Awww. That's cute 🥰
I personally prefer money mainly becuse it is difficult for other people to figure out what I want, becuase of neurological reasons.

Yeah I feel you, I’m so bad with gifting gifts and now I just settle for gift card
That’s so clever and sweet ❤️ May you both stay happy forever 😇😇😇
This is what we call COMPROMISE !! I looove it!! ❤❤

See, I thought of plants first, but Pokémon seemed like the right option for you Uyenn 😂 I'm glad your partner loved it ❤
You guys make my day a lot better!! Thanks!!!
She met in the middle, delivering the money in a way that shows how well she knows him
I love when she smile. She have a sweet smile 😊
That’s an even better gift honestly 😂
Omg this Enton is sooooo perfect. But yeah thats why I hate gifing money or general gift cards. If I like a Person I like to think what they might like and get something for them that fits them and put a smile on their face.
Such a thoughtful gift! ❤
The pull over bedsheet looks like an Indian Roti
I just started learning Vietnamese. I think it’s such a beautiful language.

I love your videos so much! Also your smile is so sweet! I'm visiting Germany in less than a month also and am preparing myself by watching a lot of your videos!

I LOVE YOU GUYS! Ur vids always put a smile on my face 🥰
Literally the perfect birthday gift
I love how us Pokémon fans are so easy to get gifts for. I would be STOKED if someone that loved me got me a little dancing psyduck holding money.

You NAILED the assignment! xD
That was an awesome compromise, she was still able to give money on his birthday but also give him something he really liked
