    Just started using this method this morning (post-game, so bit more to work with) and it works great. Hate having to rely on the RNG for Death, being able to consistently take down enemies with big numbers is much better. Don't like that recharging TP is a bit of a slog but it beats having to find a way around the stomps in order to bring down the legs.

    Sorry, I forgot to respond to this. Sazh and Lightning are respectively equipped with Strength and Magic boosting weapons and accessories. Sazh's Hyades Magnums in particular give him an incredibly high Strength stat that makes him highly viable here. Also, Deprotect/Deshell, Bravery/Faith, and Daze give an x5.292 damage multiplier, which together with stagger allow for lots of damage.

      So you're farming it in the video with T3 weapon and maxed crystarium?
      What did you do before this XD lol

  • @LogicDolphin
    @LogicDolphin  Před 11 lety +3

    Daze doubles damage. Spamming Daze with two Coms is then the equivalent of four Coms' worth of damage, which is awesome.
    The equipment list is in the very beginning of the video. There's really no better thing to farm in Chapter 11 before Adamantoise, but I can work on something like that if you want.

    • @LogicDolphin
      @LogicDolphin  Před 3 lety +4

      Every 12 seconds, a paradigm shift refreshes everyone's ATB to max for free. This allows us to attack slightly faster over the course of the battle.

    I've used the same method as this video does.. it is nice if you have that weapon(Sazh's)... i accidently sell that and had to use other method ( Death).. but I've tried to raise your method's effectiveness by using summon's duration until the gestalt has depleted(dont use gestalt mode, shift to ravager and do your best building up the chain, my best was about 300%) and reaching 999.99% stagger state with Tri-Disaster then shift to Cerberus(3 COM).
    My Sazh's STR status is about 1300, Fang and Lightning about 1600
    P.S : Suprisingly, Adamantoise doesnt get up within 1 min while your summon still there.

    • @LogicDolphin
      @LogicDolphin  Před 9 lety

      You can buy it from Gilgamesh, Inc. which is the first-time reward from Mission 46 (Zirnitra) in the Faultwarrens.
      Adamantoise gets up 60 seconds after he falls to the ground, but the timer is frozen while a summon is out.

    • @nezkeys79
      @nezkeys79 Před rokem +1

      @LogicDolphin does this mean its more beneficial to cast death while the summon is out? (More chances before it gets up?)

    • @LogicDolphin
      @LogicDolphin  Před 10 lety

      Timing is a bit tight. If you want extra help, replace the Energy Sash and Tetradic Tiara on Sazh with more Strength accessories, and the Energy Sash on Lightning with another Magic accessory. This just requires you to constantly shift equipment before and after Adamantoise battles, but should make for easier kills.

  • @guhak
    @guhak Před 10 lety

    Why do you use lightning as opposed to vanille for those debuffs? By stage 8 vanille should have all those. Is it because vanille as a ravager in your devestation paradigm would somehow mess up daze? Was wondering as getting lightning those abilities will take some time but I can start farming right now if vanille works.

    • @LogicDolphin
      @LogicDolphin  Před 10 lety

      Everyone is maxed out in all of their stage 8 roles (primary and secondary) here. Lightning is a much, much faster caster than Vanille, and so has a much higher DPS (damage per second) potential. It is also much easier to line up Lightning's Ruins against Fang's Dazes (they both cast at the same speed, whereas Vanille is slower and so not all of her Ruins will get the Daze bonus).
      But if you're still working on developing your characters, it might be fine to Vanille, provided she has Ruin and perhaps more Magic.

    • @guhak
      @guhak Před 10 lety

      LewdDolphin21
      Ah, I was not aware that lightning was a faster caster, in fact I only recently noticed that different characters had variable casting times in the first place lol... Okay, thanks for responding, I will just up lightning's saboteur role more then, currently farming Mission 7.

    • @LogicDolphin
      @LogicDolphin  Před 10 lety +1

      guhak Yeah, as far as offensive casting speed goes, it's Snow > Lightning = Fang > Hope > Sazh = Vanille. For defensive (i.e., buffing and healing), I'm honestly not entirely sure, but the order is something like Snow > Hope > Sazh > Vanille > Lightning = Fang. In other words, Snow is ridiculous.

    Would it be better to equip a power glove as opposed to a weirding glove on light? since you're using her as a com, or am i missing something?

    • @LogicDolphin
      @LogicDolphin  Před 10 lety

      COM Ruins are just as good as COM Attacks. Her DPS is higher with high Magic Ruins, and it's much easier to line up her Ruins against Daze instead of her Attacks.

    Do you need to attack while fang cast daze to get the double damage?

    • @LogicDolphin
      @LogicDolphin  Před 2 lety

      The double-damage happens while the target is Dazed, but then Daze expires, unless it's during the first couple seconds of infliction. By attacking while Fang is casting Daze, you ensure as much of your attacks get the double-damage bonus as possible by getting within that couple-second window.

      The Eden Adamantoise is as much an Adamantoise as the Pulse Adamantoise, so yeah, it will work.
      That being said, by the time you get to Eden you'll have unlocked stage 9 of the crystarium, so you'll have more HP, Strength, and Magic to play around with. Death as a strat isn't reliable enough to be worth it. Check out etrosgate.com/xiii/farming/oretoises for some discussion on farming strats.

    • @LogicDolphin

      To restore a slight bit of TP for each kill. It is necessary to regain the TP in three fights.

  • @LogicDolphin
    @LogicDolphin  Před 11 lety

    Summoning automatically takes it down to the ground. Trying to fight it head on doesn't work so well until you have much more HP.
    Are you utilizing Deprotect/Deshell, Bravery/Faith, and Daze? They respectively confer x1.89, x1.4, and x2 damage multipliers. All together that's an x5.292 multiplier, so if you're using none of them that's why you're seeing 20k at max stagger. Also, make note of the stat boosts on the characters via my choice of weapons and accessories.

    Thank goodness I said to hell with it for this game and used Cheat Engine for Chapter 11 onwards (PC version only). As much as I love this game up to Chapter 10, this section and the rest of the game is so goddamn mindless and grindy, even if you B-line for the main-story stuff. I always like challenges such as XCOM and a fun grind like Grim Dawn, but FF13 was too much nonsense pushed at the very end when I am mentally done with the game.
    Worst, even with maxed out CP and Gil (weapons), my characters feel nowhere near as powerful as they should be. These stats are more diluted than any homeopathic medicine.

    • @tiornys
      @tiornys Před 5 lety

      The way to be powerful in FFXIII is through strategy and tactics. Raw stats don't mean as much on their own because the math of the game is built around compounding multipliers.

    • @SpartanWolf222
      @SpartanWolf222 Před 5 lety

      @@tiornys I'm well aware, but my point was that even after dumping 999K Gil and 999K CP for upgrades (effectively, each party member got three times as much stats or 300% boosts) my party was still absurdly weak. That was by cheating whereas throughout the game up to Chapter 11 I never felt that I had to do the same thing.

    • @tiornys
      @tiornys Před 5 lety +1

      @@SpartanWolf222 And my point is that even with cheating, you're not going to be able to roll over FFXIII's fights. On the other hand, with good strategies you can roll over the fights at normal development, i.e. where you fight most enemies on path and don't grind. With expert strategies, you can roll over the fights at near-minimum development, as proven by the game's speedrun featuring almost entirely non-mandatory fights (unlike most RPG speedruns which typically have a few sections of grinding).
