    Thanks to RMR for showcasing the hard work and dedication of the athletes, their coaches and the support systems of Special Olympics. Wouldn't it be great if we all worked together so well?!

      Too bad Rick Mercer wasn't there for the first Team Canada Training Camp group which involved the Athletics, Golf, Powerlifting, and Rhythmic Gymnastics teams. I was in that first group along with other Powerlifters.
      When Rick Mercer was at the Team Canada Training Camp, it was for the second group, Swimming and 10 Pin Bowling Teams, which occurred a week later.

      Can't wait to see you at the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles.
      Since two Team Canada athletes will become the first Special Olympians in Canadian history to make a fourth appearance at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in one sport, and three athletes about to make their third appearance including yourself, we will have the strongest Team Canada yet.

    The opportunity to take part in the Special Olympics is the opportunity to screw up on purpose, and it is the opportunity to insult people who take part for all of the bullshit that it is in substance. Now I thrive on the idea that someone who super hard to get disqualified in the Special Olympics for all of what they do not do. Make no mistake about this one, and that is that there is a real sense of accomplishment doing what is possible to show bad sportsmanship in the Special Olympics for being all things to all people, and yes the Special Olympics does discriminate against people in wheelchairs fact! There is so much good someone can accomplish by making absolutely certain that they do not at all taking part in the Special Olympics for all of the modified rules they have, because of the fact that they do not practice 5-7 days a week, which makes doing poorly by design the way to be about competing in the Special Olympics, and that the right way to be 100%.

    I was at the Team Canada Training Camp first group which involved the Athletics, Golf, Powerlifting, and Rhythmic Gymnastics teams.
    Unfortunately, Rick Mercer wasn't there for the first group.
    It would have been nice if I had a chance to show Rick Mercer how to do Squats, Bench Presses, and Deadlifts.

    • @rogerhackler223
      @rogerhackler223 Před 8 lety

      You are wrong, because the truth is that there are way too many people who do not use any common sense what soever, and no I do need any back talk about how common sense is common knowledge, because when I did mention common sense I did mean sensibility, and that is a fact! Now you know full well that I am talking about how there some real idiots, and you know full well that exactly what I am saying is the absolute truth, there for start using good judgement, and yes I do mean sensible judgement!

      +George Arnold My point stands. I still don't think a lot of people can understand what you wrote due to the way you wrote it.
      By the way, I was actually not looking to contradict you - I'd have to understand what you wrote before I would make the decision to do so.

    • @rogerhackler223
      @rogerhackler223 Před 8 lety

      The truth is that Special Olympics is bullshit, and you know it, because they are all about being all things to all people, because of these so called intellectual disabilities!

    • @HalifaxHercules
      @HalifaxHercules Před 3 lety

      Since most Special Olympics sporting rules are similar to sport specific federations, its not hard to get disqualified.
      For example, Special Olympics International's Powerlifting Rules are almost similar to the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF).
      Since Special Olympics uses divisioning along with the "Max Effort Rule" if your championship results are more than 15% better than your divisioning round counterpart, you run a risk of getting disqualified.
      Special Olympics does not discriminate.
      Keep in mind that Special Olympics is for persons with developmental, learning, and/or intellectual disabilities while the Paralympics is for athletes with any disability, including those with intellectual disabilities in some sports if they meet the classification requirements.
