  • SURTIDO BANNA Folk Dance - Based on Philippine Folk Dances Volume VI by Francisca Reyes Aquino - Filmed at Malacanang of the North. Ti Surtido Banna ket maysa a sala a naputar para iti ili ti Banna. Idi un-unana nga aldaw, ti Banna ket indauluan ti maingel ken natured a pangulo nga agnagan ti Chief Bana. Agdindinamag idi ti kinaprogreso daytoy a lugar kadagiti kabangibang nga ili. Maigapo kadaytoy, immay dagiti kaasideg nga umili iti Banna ket isuda ti nangpapintas pay ti kababalin a nadanonda bayat ti intugotda a kannawidan ken kanta. Surtido: kayat na a saw-en, naduma- duma a garaw iti sala, tukar ken kumpas.
Surtido Banna is a dance, which is usually performed during fiestas, manifesting thrift as a trait of our people. It originated in Espiritu, the old name of Banna. It is a variation of the waltz, characterized by variations in tempo. It was first performed in 1970 at the Malacanang Palace during the birthday of President Ferdinand E. Marcos. The beauty of the dance lies in the range of steps and cadence. As time goes by, the dance has been performed by our people who dream and work together for a common goal-to bring peace and progress in our province through constant cooperation and unconditional sharing of skills and resources.

These are what you call Filipino dances or dances of the Filipino nation. Dances of the Filipino national identity. These are the dances of Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio and the people who established the Filipino nation-state.
Bacit hindi ito añg ipacita natin sa buong mundo cung talagañg gusto natin ipacita ang Filipino dances. Ilocanos can show it.

The Surtido Banna is actually a ilocano song called Bannatiran 1:52 at this part this where the song starts
    BANNATIRAN
    Lyrics
    "Bannatiran ta dutdot mo kalilibnusan
Ti panggep mo di ka patuluyan
    Sumina ka sadinno aya’t papanam
    Sadinno Bannatiran
Ania a kayo ti inka pagdissuan
Ania a kayo ti kayatmo Bannatiran
Ta uray nu awan pilit nga inka isapulan
    Ta sika’t sarming a paganninawan
Ti raniag diay init ken bulan
Ta nu ni kayo nagsabong ken ayat
    Panawam man
    Ay babawiem to’t kamaudianan
    Nu ni liday ti matumpungam"
My grandma and i sang this Harana song together ❤

hello! what is the time signature of this dance?

    • @HoyTara
      @HoyTara  Před rokem +1

After listening to the music, it appears that the time signature of the dance is 2/4. The music has a distinct rhythm that emphasizes two beats per measure. This time signature is commonly used in many traditional Filipino folk dances.
I hope this information is helpful!
