I think the point is contrast. Some of the hoods (New Orleans, Philadelphia, Detroit, etc) we’re nice once upon a time. This will decline similarly within a couple of decades, if there is no change.
You call this "the hood"? It's quiet, the yards are all kept mown, only showed one place that had a bunch of project cars on the property.... Just an older neighborhood.

I always thought that in the USA there are only big houses like in the movie home alone. Which I watched as a child. I always thought this was a country of rich people and that everyone was rich there. But now I've grown up, I'm looking at the USA. The biggest compliment I could make looking at that word is "cute." I would like to emigrate there from Russia - obviously not. The most interesting thing is that when I play the American truck simulator game, I like America in the game. But in reality, it's a hand face with the words OMG
