    Excited for the canteen but the digital camo looks cheap and horrible. Would prefer a simple khaki or OD holder.

      I am told that the bag was a "throw in" from the manufacturer.

    • @OzMan9989

      @@saltydogsays Makes sense then, and possibly a throw-in which is cool of Dave. I might have to Krylon spray pain mine! :)

  • @cephasmcpher67peteroutdoorspip

    That canteen set looks identical to a set that is sold by Boundless Voyage with out the Pathfinder logo of course but it will be interesting to compare prices when the Pathfinder price is revealed.

      @Ðriƒ†er I saw them on amazon for $140 i'm curious to see the Pathfinder price when they release it.

      @Ðriƒ†er Not in disagreement with you at all. I was wondering if the Pathfinder set was going to be in the same price range as the Boundless Voyage set and it's only about $4 difference so my money will go to Dave cause I like the logo, lol. Take care.

    Pretty nice stuff there Kevin. I don’t like the bag all that much. A solid color or more useful Camo pattern would be preferable.

    Looks good . I don’t do metric so I’ll have to find a conversation chart for the canteen. Assuming it’s 32 oz for various forms of water purification. Pretty sure I’d lose that little stove . Thanks for the updates

    • @saltydogsays
      @saltydogsays  Před 3 lety +1

      It's 1100 ml so that makes it a little over 37 ounces.

    • @bc81
      @bc81 Před 3 lety

      Its metric as 99% of it is from OEM companies in China. The rest of the would is metric, do that's how the measure stuff.

    Love ya Salty! Is any of this made in America! I'll pay double for American made items. That could be Dave's best selling point.

    • @saltydogsays
      @saltydogsays  Před 3 lety +2

      It would be awesome to be able to get someone doing this manufacturing in the US, unfortunately most of society has gone the other way on pricing and drove most manufacturing for anything overseas.

    Now that Dave has them it's easier to get then the month wait from overseas.

  • @NGMonocrom

    All the new Ti products = Re-branded from Boundless Voyage. All of it. Selling for around $10 to $20 more with the Pathfinder name on it. All made in China. Except the stove, which is made by a bunch of different Chinese companies.

    • @saltydogsays
      @saltydogsays  Před 3 lety

      ....I'm sure there is a point in there somewhere. You act like half the stuff everyone uses daily are not made in China, including the phones and computers people post "Made In China Junk" comments from. Just showing you the products, buy them or don't.

  • @miketaylor8109
    @miketaylor8109 Před 3 lety

    Would be cool if the ti spoon had a can opener on the end of the handle like the boy scout pocket knifes has.. It could double As a hook to remove lids an such.

  • @overweighthikerwannabe901

    I don't know how I didn't see this sooner, I was typing 'Pathfinder Titanium' like mad into the CZcams search to try and find a review on the new products since I saw them advertised on the website. I already ordered what I needed to keep my set complete, but I won't be getting to play with it till after my birthday in May (My mom decided she'd pay my credit bill for them as a birthday presentm so she gets to put them away till then). Oh well, not like I was camping with corvid on the loose anyways. Paying for all of them myself would have left me nearly zilch for the rest of the month so I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. Not that my mother is a horse, or I'm calling her one, it is just a saying as I'm sure you've heard it.

    Why would someone choose titanium over stainless steel? Can someone please explain?

    • @mudsslinger
      @mudsslinger Před 3 lety +2

      the weight

    • @WilliamsKnifeLife
      @WilliamsKnifeLife Před 3 lety +1

      When compared to steel in a strength-to-weight ratio, titanium is far superior, as it is as strong as steel but 45% lighter. In fact, titanium has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of all known metals.

    • @Goodpatron
      @Goodpatron Před 3 lety +1

      @@WilliamsKnifeLife Nice. Is the only downside that it's susceptible to rust or something?

    • @bc81
      @bc81 Před 3 lety +2

      It also heats faster so reduces boil times

    • @WilliamsKnifeLife
      @WilliamsKnifeLife Před 3 lety +1

      @@Goodpatron I got this from Google:
      Titanium has many favorable properties that make it ideal for a variety of uses and applications. It is lightweight, durable, strong, is long-lasting, and is resistant to heat, acid, salt water and chemicals. It is also less prone to rust and corrosion than other metals and alloys.
      I would say the biggest disadvantage of titanium is the cost. It's usually much more expensive than stainless steel.
