I just wanna say maybe one of the reasons why Filipino singers appear to sound a bit one step back is because of the staging and the technical aspects of production. Other countries has more advance one. I just thought of it. Still Regine is Regine.. even at her age now. No one compares to Asia's only Songbird☺
I think I can see why so many philippinoes dislike Sohyang... They have such a pride in their singing skills.. yeap.. philippine has been known for great singers and good singing skills...I understand that...but I hope they don't behave disrespectful toward other great singers from other countries. I think Sohyang sang as great as Regine did. They are both gifted singers.

I both like there performances, each one sang it impeccably. If we to pick according to over-all production then i pick So Hyang. The vocals, the arrangement, the staging and camera works. but if its about timeless classical rendition with a flair, of course The Queen Regine. I'm a Fil but to be honest, i have never seen an all out production on our local TV Shows that blew me away. Yes we have the talents but on the technical side, Pinoy stagings' still needs to push the envelope further. I guess its because most of the directors and creatives in our local shows are not so young anymore and they need to hire new, imaginative and really artistic ones. Why? because it does make an ordinary performance look great both live or televised. (Im in in the industry as well that's why i know hehe). but personally as a matter of taste, i like Regine's rendition. i prefer Christmas songs that is nostalgic with a little twist here and there that will not change the real essence of the composition..this is.a year late though and i hope to see more of your reactions MGN. more power!
