Another very depressing place that reminds us we're all going to pass on some day. Look what happened to this place when time and weather had their way...
Hey guys this was my hubbys weekend to work so been watching you all off and on all weekend you all are so great the explores and even ur cute kitten when you were home keep up the good work ur awesome folks
Love your videos! Thanks for saying No cussing in comments, straight away. You guys are so calm & respectful. Thanks for taking us on treasure hunts! ✌
That wasnt an 8mm film. It was a tape for a reel-to-reel tape recorder. If it had been an 8mm film, you'd have been able to see actual images on it just by holding it up to the light. Nice explore! You two are so young, it's interesting observing your interactions as you go through these places. Brings back lots of memories. Thank you for being as respectful as you are, and I hope you keep on enjoying this sort of explore! If you ever want to know what something is, I know "many things about many things" and would be glad to tell you if it's something I know. Thanks for sharing!
For ones so young you show a respect and maturity beyond your years. You treat the persons memories with care and grace. Keep up the great explores! :)
Our home is about 100 years old, and, there was an old rotary phone on the kitchen wall. I wish we had left it there, but if I remember correctly it was interfering with the phone service. I do enjoy your videos. It just makes my heart hurt because so many objects were left behind.
I used a phone like that when I was a teenager in the 80's. Those rotary dial phones bring back memories. We had one in the kitchen. My friends and family had them
The black phone you asked about the year- It's called a Rotary phone. I'm not too sure of exact year but my grandmother had a yellow one, in the 60's and even early seventies,. Great explore.
I believe this is my first time seeing this video. I have a feeling I'm gonna love it.Yall be safe n stay well.Cant wait to place my order tomorrow for some more 70s to 90s magazines for the collection. 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Watched tons of your vids, love your style of focusing in on the little stuff, Bekah is great with the camera. The phone area code 615 is Lafayette, Tn? and this house is in no. Alabama, they may have moved and taken the phone with them.
Metal combs were used for teasing hair for styles such as bouffants (in the 50's and 60"s) Great video ! Also, phone's like that were from the 50's but we had a phone like that in the late 1960"s in to the 70's ... In fact, we still have one as a keepsake. My kids get a huge kick out of it : ) Great video !!
My parents had bedroom furniture like that. The big real is probably music or 16 mil pictures 8 mil is smaller reel. Yes phone from 60's. So many beds in that house. Great find Rick & Bekah
Yeah i appreciate positive comments and wish people with negative or rude comments would move on, like they say ‘if you don’t like what you see Keep On Scrolling’ 👍🏼 as always stay safe and thank you for the videos
another great video. I could spend a good part of a day going through everything. I love doing that stuff if I come across an old place. Let's you look into the lives of the past. Thank you both for all you do.
Nice video you two! We had a phone likethat in the late sixties early seventies.i will never understand why someone doesn't take care of personal items from a relative. Such a waste. Keep up the great work!
I haven't read all the comments so this may have been said. The vanity with the round mirror is called Waterfall and is from the 40's. It's in pretty good shape. I'd love to have it to see how it would clean up! The phone was on a party line. You can read where it says 2 long rings. That was their ring to answer. There was an old french fry cutter with box in one room. This was a pretty neat house. Thanks again for the videos.
I truly enjoy your videos. You two are so sweet, like little children playing. Bekah you are very professional with the camera. You move it slowly and steady zooming it at the right times. Rick you are respective of personal items and to Bekah. Love you kids. Keep exploring..
That phone is known as the "500 set" Pretty much the standard home phone for US and Canada from 1950. They stopped making them in about 1984. I work for a phone company and like to collect vintage phones. I probably have almost every color of the 500 set going. Some are still "new", in the box. I even have the matching wall versions. The touch tone version of these sets are the 2500 sets. That creepy mug on the floor is a vintage Campbell Soup mug. The Hummingbird thing is the main control panel for a fish finder. The reel on the bed is for a reel to reel player and not 8mm film. Cheers!
Yeah, we used that style of phone in the '70s and even the early '80s. Agreed about the reel to reel, used for music (before cassette tapes). If it were 8mm, you would be able to see the tiny images on it. Plus 8mm reels tend to be about half that size, I used to own one.
I agree. She doesn't want to be in front of the camera though. I did convince her one time. We will be uploading it relatively soonish. Next few weeks I hope
Hi guys! That tape you found on the bed next to the leather jacket is an audio tape which would have been played on a "reel to reel" tape recorder. My Dad used to have one when I was a kid. I remember him listening to all the "Big Band" music (Glenn Miller Orchestra & the like). We also had a dial phone when I was a kid, but the dial on our phone was metal & the phone weighed a ton!!! Thanks again for another great video!
Thank you, I love your videos. The round tape disc you found on the bed is from a reel to reel tape recorder. My father had one that he recoded music on. Late 60's. Also, I had to laugh when you zoomed in on the old black boot in the attic it reminded me of the boot in the Monopoly game. I don't know why but it made me laugh.
great explore(as always guys),,, Rick, when you were up in the attack and zoomed in on some stuff, at 11:31, that's an old car 8 track player , that goes back probably to the late 1960's early 70's,... and the voice of Music , at 11:45 looks like its probably the front speaker of an old record player,, again from back in the 60's , that little creepy mug you saw was from Campbell's soup, they were known as the "Campbell's kids ", they're was a guy and a girl, they had for marketing,, they did have names , but i forgot what they were now,and that old black telephone was awesome too, they used to have some loud rings on them, i remember having them in my house way back in the early 60's
The old telephone is from the sixties. They didn't have plastic in the fifties like that. It wasn't invented yet. The reel you found that you thought was 8mm film, was a reel to reel audio tape used in the early days. The Voice of Music device in the attic was probably the player for that tape. V-M made audio equipment back inn those days. Good find!
Love this place but also sad to see so many personal belongings left behind, it makes me sad to se that, it’s almost like nobody cares that they passed or left and never came back. I think I’m going to get rid of all my stuff before I pass because it has me thinking nobody might care for my stuff lol 😂 I have some stuff from my grandparents & my parents but I don’t see my kids wanting all the vintage things 😢 oh boy. Thank you for the video & stay safe
I feel the same way & have given some of my prized possessions to my niece. I have 2 sons who could care less about my items, they have their own home & things. What kids don't realize, sale the items & make some money, but some kids just too lazy to do that. Estate auctions are so fun!
Reel-to-reel tape on the bed, as late as the mid to late '70s, when I was your age, probably. You ignored the 16-mm film reel in the propane station, too. You are so young!!! But doing okay!! Thanks for the memories!!
Thank you for not walking on the floor upstairs. Definately looked too unstable. I love the handmade lace curtain at 23:08 We used to knot ours like that in the daytime to let the light in, then untie it at night.
I have the identical old vanity with the big mirror in my bedroom. I believe 1930's to 40's vintage. Sad to see it nearly destroyed. So appreciate your total respect for things.
As has been said, the little yellow plastic cup with the baby's face is a Campbell's Soup Kid cup. They've been using the kids to advertise their soup since 1904 and that model of cups (made so kids could 'drink' their tomato soup) was sold in the mid 70's.
Another great site with great camera work as usual, even Rick's short piece.(ha!) Don't know how I'd get through the work day without an R&B video. The clothes were killer. A lot of old timers never updated their wardrobe. No - Rick - you can't wear them to work. You're supposed to be quitting your job to do these videos.
@ 6:18 January 2002 calendar date :( That's still so recent that it makes my heart sink to see what this house had already turned in to up until this point :(
You missed a women's red wallet in the top drawer. That pink plastic basin on top of the chest of drawers is a hospital wash basin which the hospital always sent home with you. As always a great video.
I like that old round suitcase that was in the same room as the hanging belts. I wish I still had one of those. What a sad house. Those Men's pants were very old style, thinking 60-80s? Not sure but they are so vintage! Very cool find!!
I just passed along my great grandmother's steel comb to my daughter. She died around 1959 for an idea of how old it was. Also the black rotary phone could have been used up through the 70's, maybe early 80's. Glycerin is now a common product used in shampoos, conditioners, lotions etc. The one old case once held an old hair dryer with a bonnet connected with a tube. Goes to show, if you haven't used it in the last -5 years, time to let it go.
Oh There Jacqueline I am sorry to hear that about your lost watching our loveones passing away can be heartbreaking. I hope you’re ok and safe from the virus?
Another trip back in time. The phone is my favorite. I would sit and dial the one we had just to hear it click. If you ever come across any cool rocks, please show them. I collect rocks and bottles and would love to see them.
I used to have a WWII rotary type, very heavy, black phone. It worked and ringer was an awesome tone. Reminded me of European tellies. Wish I hadn't sold it :>(
Great find. Looks like 60's - I graduated '64 and that was like the phone we had. SWBELL provided the phone They owned them &they took them back when you cancelled service. Almost every thing looks like mid 60s. I did have an aluminum comb. Vicious on the hair, btw..Surprising inside after looking @ outside. of house. Thanks for making my Saturday morning once again. Thanks for great trip back in time. As usual, y'all are awesome! ! !
It looked the same as with a regular comb, the metal didn't do any harm to my hair or scalp. Back then in the early 80's I was a huge fan of the group Blondie and even bleached my hair! My hair may not have looked "super nice" but it sure was super blonde!
Thw radio in the attic was a old CB base station. The chair in the attic with the lamb on it was a little kids potty chair, The phone is from the sixties
We had a phone like that in the 60’s when I was a kid. I hope none of those houses collapses on y’all. I would have loved to see that old dresser better. Wow juicy fruit was favorite back in the day. It’s funny how the totally collapsed part of the house is so interesting. Good job y’all I have to tell ya. If I try to watch someone else’s video I get distracted because it is not done the way y’all do.
Were glad you enjoy our format. Also it’s nice to know you also like collapsed parts. Most people don’t seem to care about that part. Thx for watching. :)
I loved the mailbox shot, so pretty. I have a decent collection of glass old doorknobs and the locking mechanism...I think they are beautiful..I repurposed some of them to be coat hooks and I've never ever seen one like the one you showed, I wonder what it was made out of. So I was born in 1974 and I talked to my friends on a phone exactly like that...ugg I feel old now lol
13:56 A box for a "Veg O Matic" sitting in a air conditioning housing. A device for chopping veggies. A very 70's thing to have. Strange I new what it was instantly. Haven't seen one in decades.
Where in Alabama? I'm from Northeast AL, Calhoun County to be precise. Neat find ... Yet again. I love how you are respectful & don't take things or make messes. Keep the great content coming & be safe on your adventuring trips.
Cool video Rick & Bekah! It is interesting to see...and kinda sad, to think, that the house was once someone's home and had once been filled with warmth and life. I always get a bit melancholy, when I see photos left behind, such as the one of the boy in the drawer. I inherited my dear, late Mom's home and it is loaded with all her & my late Dad's treasures & memories. Mom kept it ALL and could never part with or throw anything away. Plus, there are outer buildings loaded with stuff too. I don't know where to begin....Anyway, maybe someday you both may be exploring the remnants of this place and doing a video...LOL ;D .... I've just discovered you guys today, so I've subbed you & will be looking at your other exploration videos. Keep having fun and bringing us these interesting videos. Stay safe too! Cheers from British Columbia, Canada. :)
I understand and hear you with my heart. Yes you have a challenge ahead of you, I went through the same this year. Might I make a suggestion? Have Keep bins or boxes labeled & ready small/soft goods ie., Photos etc. Colored Post-is to Identify the Keeps for Hard Goods/Big Goods maybe you can have various types of groups go through and(donate to) help themselves, with-holding items that may arise that you may want to keep. its a win-win as it could lessen the load/burden on you, physically, mentally, spiritually, and financially not to mention actual time consumption.. it would also serve as a positive energy in keeping momentum of the project and scale of the work from the support.and the act of kindness and service exchanged.Prospect for Barter/Exchange Situation for help with Cleaning, Packing, Repairing, Painting etc.,Also utilize Ads/Classifieds/Auction/Collector/Estate Sale ,Middleman related Services of which you could submit a video vlog, call, write, email, advertise, create flyers/poster with Basic info and photos of some items for sale, extending interest to support your personal cause, needs, or interest, or to benefit organizations you would like to donate to.. Reach out to students, immigrants, barterers who have limited resources but a need to start or better themselves and their lives and the action in it, After lightening the load take another look around, and Reevaluate the Situation, Sit in quiet and receive the answer. Have bins and a dumpster on site for hauling out debris. Know what truly means the most in value to you as well as your abilities. Do you have the resources to upkeep, maintain, or house everything you choose to retain. This will affect your life and future, the life you have chosen for yourself to live, as in time this same situation will present to those that follow you. Good Luck my friend - God Bless Aloha you are in my prayer
The phone was from the 50's or 60's. There appeared to be a handmade antique bed in the front room. Very pretty.(the one you rolled the ball across). Home is much older than it looks. Paneling was put up much later. Closets were made later. Old fireplace.
I grew up in Northwest Alabama in the 80s, and this place reminds me so very much of my grandparents house. The old glasses from the 50s, the decorations, the building materials, everything! I even have a dresser just like the one pictured at the beginning that belonged to my mother... in fact, that one may be in better shape! (I wonder if they'd want to sell it? LOL.) What county was this in? Thanks for the video!
I love your videos. You guys explore some interesting places and find some really neat stuff. My husband and I live in my grandparents old house and it is full of their old, antique belongings. He found a door knob identical to the brown marble looking one in the video in one of our sheds. I enjoy seeing you guys find an item and we say "Hey - we have one of those here!" Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping your channel family-friendly.😊😁
Could you guys please spend a bit more time on the old/antique furniture? From the comments, it looks like I’m not the only antique lover. Great video. Sad house. Can’t help but imagine when it was a happy home with love and life in it. I’ve always felt, will sound silly to some, that old houses have souls and hold so many memories.
That place is really old, i'm 50 years old and when i was 7 my mom had a dresser just like that in her bad room, it looks like that place has been abandoned for a very very long time, i recognize alot of the stuff fro my childhood, i think maybe homeless people might have used that place off and on for years. Good vidio guys.
Exploring with Rick & Bekah I had to ask my mom. She said it was my great grandmas mothers. My great grandma died at 85 in 1989. That was her mothers. My great grandma wld be 113 if still alive. My mom is not sure at what age my great great grandma would have gotten it. But thats pretty old.
17:05 Hummingbird Locator, also known as a "fish finder". These go on fishing boats and can tell the depth of the water, and if fish are present in the area. Hummingbird was the brand name.
The first patent for a rotary dial was granted to Almon Brown Strowger (November 29, 1892) as U.S. Patent 486,909, but the commonly known form with holes in the finger wheel was not introduced until ca. 1904.[citation needed] While used in telephone systems of the independent telephone companies, rotary dial service in the Bell System in the United States was not common until the introduction of the Western Electric model 50AL in 1919
yikes was a that a big tarantula that fell out of that leather jacket when rick picked it up...rats or snakes dont phase me but a big spider can make me pit my shants
I know it says 'Take only pictures, leave only footprints.' but I would be overwhelmingly tempted to take some of these small items from such a place. And you know you wouldn't get in trouble in this case.
Hey guys this was my hubbys weekend to work so been watching you all off and on all weekend you all are so great the explores and even ur cute kitten when you were home keep up the good work ur awesome folks

Thanks for great video, love you both.😊
in the attic, that little chair was a potty training chair. my mom had a picture of me sitting in one like this in the 60;s
For ones so young you show a respect and maturity beyond your years. You treat the persons memories with care and grace. Keep up the great explores! :)

I'm glad you have clean comments thank you
Love the channel, I love how you get rid of any vulgar comments, get so tired of those on other channels, keep up the great videos.
I know, right?! The internet trolls are not only nasty, they take up sooo much space that we miss legitimate comments!
This girl Bekah sure is the life of the party right ?
Don. What's with the crass comments ? If you don't like our videos you don't need to watch. My wife is not as expressive as me.
Yeah i appreciate positive comments and wish people with negative or rude comments would move on, like they say ‘if you don’t like what you see Keep On Scrolling’ 👍🏼 as always stay safe and thank you for the videos
@@ExploringwithRickBekah Your wife is very sweet, everything a woman should be. He is just jealous because he doesn't have someone like that.
I like y'alls videos. Thanks for sharing.
The thing I loved about that older closet is you could see outside.
another great video. I could spend a good part of a day going through everything. I love doing that stuff if I come across an old place. Let's you look into the lives of the past. Thank you both for all you do.

Thank you trump! :)

That ugly green carpet with the paisley imprint was in my parents house when it was built in 1969! Pretty cool find guys!
Thank you for not walking on the floor upstairs. Definately looked too unstable. I love the handmade lace curtain at 23:08 We used to knot ours like that in the daytime to let the light in, then untie it at night.
Thanks for sharing! I know I'm a lil late......Always so interesting to watch:) Have a blessed weekend! ❤️🙏🏼❤️

Glass door knobs.. I have similar ones in my home...which was built in 1890.}
Think this place was around that age ?
Late to this party but another great find kids.
Thanks Jo. :)
yeah me too, i just love them ( the kids and the finds)
The phone is around the 60's area and that dial on the bottom of the phone was to make the Ring of the phone louder or lower.... Interesting place!

👍🤣 ok ok lol
The "radio" in the attic looks like a CB radio with audio jacks for microphones...
And the exercise bike looks like a Schwinn Air-Dyne...
The Hummingbird unit is an electronic fish finder used on boats.

round suitcase was probably for a hairdryer, blower motor with hose attached to a cap.
It's a hat box. My mother had one like it. They did make hair dryers in boxes like that though.
We still had dial phones in the 60's when I was a child
Noted. Thanks. :)
So funny how you are amazed with that phone! Comes from50’s 60’s and 70’s
I used to have a WWII rotary type, very heavy, black phone. It worked and ringer was an awesome tone. Reminded me of European tellies. Wish I hadn't sold it :>(
Love watching your videos! You two are amazing, funny, caring! Becca has such a soft sweet voice! Rick makes me laugh! Keep up the good work
No not the 50's! We used those phones in the 60's, 70's & 80's! Heck even the 90's!
The comb I used to backcomb my hair was aluminum.
Believe it or not, I once had a Swiss Army COMB. It was made out metal.
Whoa. Did your hair look super nice when you used it ?
It looked the same as with a regular comb, the metal didn't do any harm to my hair or scalp. Back then in the early 80's I was a huge fan of the group Blondie and even bleached my hair! My hair may not have looked "super nice" but it sure was super blonde!
Wow very nice. 👍😬
Thw radio in the attic was a old CB base station. The chair in the attic with the lamb on it was a little kids potty chair, The phone is from the sixties
Really love all your videos. So glad you two followed your calling. Good clean fun for the masses 😊
We had a phone like that in the 60’s when I was a kid. I hope none of those houses collapses on y’all. I would have loved to see that old dresser better. Wow juicy fruit was favorite back in the day. It’s funny how the totally collapsed part of the house is so interesting. Good job y’all
I have to tell ya.
The little chair in the attic is a old fashioned potty chair.
Thanks sherry. From Huntsville.
Great video. I always love watching your videos..
are some of these homes wrecked because of tornadoes or hurricanes? why are they all messed up with stuff on top of each other?
We're so glad you found us billy ! Already appreciating your comments and stories. I would have loved to have met your mother. She sounds wonderful. 👍
R Tachera 🙄🤔
I believe this was near Fayetteville or Winchester. Not totally sure.
I absolutely believe it, my grandparents place was near the TN line north of Florence. Amazing how similar everything was...
Looking forward to more
I love your videos. You guys explore some interesting places and find some really neat stuff. My husband and I live in my grandparents old house and it is full of their old, antique belongings. He found a door knob identical to the brown marble looking one in the video in one of our sheds. I enjoy seeing you guys find an item and we say "Hey - we have one of those here!" Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping your channel family-friendly.😊😁
hi Rick and Bekah! love your videos. the hummingbird thing is a fish finder. ;)
thanks guys I look forward to your finds everyday
Wow! No problems going inside this shack
At 26:01 that's a fish finder. Mount it on your boat and markers for fish under and near the boat show on the screen.
The phone y'all found, we had one from the 70s through the mid 80s.
That round container looks like what I had as a young girl and it had a hair dryer in it
That vanity you was looking at soon as you walked in is very very old. My great grandmother had the same one and I have it now!!
Wow how old do you think it was ?
Exploring with Rick & Bekah I had to ask my mom. She said it was my great grandmas mothers. My great grandma died at 85 in 1989. That was her mothers. My great grandma wld be 113 if still alive. My mom is not sure at what age my great great grandma would have gotten it. But thats pretty old.
That is very old. Thanks for the info. Shame this piece is going to just sit in ruins here.
+Exploring with Rick & Bekah Yes very!!! It does suck its there. It would be great if you knew who owned that property at all, then you could get it.
Yes, it is a shame...I have restored old pieces of furniture in a lot worse shape. Just needs to be rescued...and a little love and care. : )
Love that mailbox! Thanks for the explore!
17:05 Hummingbird Locator, also known as a "fish finder". These go on fishing boats and can tell the depth of the water, and if fish are present in the area. Hummingbird was the brand name.
The weird thing about coat pockets is I have many small things stored in random coat pockets in my closet.
Hummingbird depth finder. For fishing.
That hummerbird could have been a fish finder. great video.
*It's incredible how you guys can upload so frequently and you can always bring great content!*
Thank you for taking the time to film this.
That is a rotary dial phone. I miss those they were cool
