Thank you I love your channel My neighborhood has several of some of the most authentic Asian groceries in the US and I have been spoiled for choice regarding ingredients I have learned Thai cooking and Indian and now am working on learning Japanese cuisine and your videos have been helpful!
Grabbed the popcorn for another classic abroad in a pan but then your cooking skills turned out alright, that's outrageous - except butchering the onions, that was a classic experience.
silly man, you do not win a Japanese contest by standing out from the crowd. Perfect conformity is expected for victory. (I liked your's better, bland beef is meh!)
Nicolas, you’re my spirit animal. I always add random ingredients to my dishes to enhance :) It can pay off big but also lead to the occasional interesting dish 🤪
Chris: All dashi tastes the same Garnt: All bread tastes the same Connor: All chicken tastes the same Joey: All rice tastes the same The four horsemen of the apocalypse.
This is AWESOME, the sarcasm of Mr Broad meets the enthusiasm of Mr Pettas 👍 The best of typical English cooking Vs Greek/Danish, this was an unexpected knockout 😲
Excellent video, Champ! The challenge was exciting, the challengers were excellent, judges were charming, sponsorships were compelling, food was mouthwatering and my joy was everlasting! Can't wait to see the next video!
Just wondering when we'll be holding Chris accountable to his many kitchen war crimes. Am I the only one having flashbacks to the TC video where he destroyed Sharla's cookware with a metal spoon?🤣🤣🤣
I love your videos how to do high quality authentic japanese food, but there's also a joy in pointing out people who know some basics and saying what not to do.
Great concept, Champ! This reinforces the techniques and ingredients you lay out in you cooking videos and measures how well people can follow directions. When I was just starting to cook (well), I would always follow the paradigm before attempting to any modifications. This could be a great series!
Was not expecting Chris to make something edible. Good on him for winning. Nick made a risky move with grilling the meat and unfortunately had the vingegar mistake. Would have won if not for that
Love your videos Champ. Your English is excellent. Lots of practice. My mom was born and raised in Japan. Chiba prefecture. So I understand how difficult it can be. That said I will try to practice on my cooking skills to attain the same results. Keep it up!
11:06 "Uhhhhh that's not mirin." Lmao, the mystery of why he grabbed that is solved. 20:55 That shot of him holding up the vinegar! I can't stop laughing 😂
Both looked delicious although the one made by an expert is probably best lol. I'm surprised at the result since I've watched the previous attempts of the winner in cooking. This made me hungry.
I quite enjoyed this video and I am definitely looking forward to the next instalment. I expect the number of views will skyrocket once the “Abroad in Japan” community realizes Chris is featured.
This was rigged 😂, for people that don't know Chris is the secret 4th member of trash taste and meilyne is the Boss of trash taste 😁, jokes aside this was an awesome watch and it was nice seeing the blue eye samurai cook, nice work tomodachi and thank you" Champ's japanese kitchen" for the awesome video
I want to see Shogo (from let's ask Shogo) versus somebody equally serious such as Ryotaro (Ryotaro's Japan.) But definitely make them cook something silly like omurice with a cute ketchup drawing!
I have a habit of critiquing knife handling skills; especially the correct way to hold a knife, but the way Chris handles the knife, it's like nails on a chalkboard
When you're cooking a traditional dish, "it tastes like something else" is the second to last thing you want to hear. (The last is, of course, "I hate it.") Also, while I kind of get Nick's reasoning, it doesn't really hold up for an experienced cook. Yes, straight up boiling meat is bland, but when "boiling" means "braising on the stovetop in a very flavorful liquid," it actually comes out very flavorful and soft. Pan-frying makes it tougher and only par-cooking in the pan actually makes the beef absorb less flavor from the sauce. For a different dish, fully cooking in the pan, then putting the still-hot beef in the sauce and letting it cool a bit could make it even more flavorful, but I'm not sure that's something you can do and stop have it be gyudon.

Yay! The long anticipated bout! Great content Champ :-)
Merry Christmas Champ. I wish you hit a million sub soon.

Hey champ can you make pork tsukemen video? 😍☺️
My cooking skills are unmatched and unrivalled.
Just like my smile.
How in the world did you manage to win a cooking battle mate 💀
We all want a series where you actually learn to cook, chris. Look at how much better you've gotten in only 3 cooking challenges
Congrats! Undefeated Champ!
Togarashi! #gamechanger
Grabbed the popcorn for another classic abroad in a pan but then your cooking skills turned out alright, that's outrageous - except butchering the onions, that was a classic experience.
Maybe the toughest battle I've ever had...
Thanks for inviting me champ!
silly man, you do not win a Japanese contest by standing out from the crowd. Perfect conformity is expected for victory. (I liked your's better, bland beef is meh!)
Let's be honest, it was the vinegar that was the issue. I'd smell the bottle next time to make sure you have the right ingredient.
Nicolas, you’re my spirit animal. I always add random ingredients to my dishes to enhance :) It can pay off big but also lead to the occasional interesting dish 🤪
@@TJ_Rider 🙄cool story
You did better, nick ;)
I always love how unenthusiastic Chris seems about doing anything. Truly embodying the spirit of the English people.
All the enthusiasm was saved for the maniacal chopping.
Mr. Affable being enthusiastic? Scientifically impossible!
And he still manages to win, I mean honestly hes been on a roll this year, from the chess boxing match, getting a girl, and now this
@@traphimawari7760 yess god bless his soul 🥳🥳🥳

Honestly, I'm amazed that Nick didn't win lmao. Chris winning a cooking challenge really is a surprise.
He swapped one of the most important component (vinegar for mirin & fried beef) which gonna change the whole taste and texture of the dish....
From botching up DIY chocolate kits to cooking a somewhat edible gyudon.
This is unexpected character growth by Mr Affable!
NGL Chris cooking something edible was indeed a surprise lol. He keeps on winning!
This is AWESOME, the sarcasm of Mr Broad meets the enthusiasm of Mr Pettas 👍
The best of typical English cooking Vs Greek/Danish, this was an unexpected knockout 😲
Didn't expect Meyline there, what a massive collab of all great people!
Sharla facing Chris is the ultimate Anime story arc, friends, lovers now rivals.
I wasn't expecting this episode from the Japan CZcamsrs cinematic universe, but I'm all for it
A video from Champ's kitchen? I thought Christmas was on the 25th!
Loving the content as always Champ!
Happy holidays all!
Fun as this was, just want to say that I love how calm the normal format is. Cooking doesn't *have* to be a competition, after all.
Gotta love how much Chris commits to being a heel!
If you're out of you depth, just dive deeper! It makes the victory all the sweeter!
Christmas just arrived early. Thanks Champ, and everyone who participated.
Excellent video, Champ! The challenge was exciting, the challengers were excellent, judges were charming, sponsorships were compelling, food was mouthwatering and my joy was everlasting! Can't wait to see the next video!
The challenge I never knew I needed. It's amazing seeing you coach them up, and then letting them spread their wings!
I can't wait for round 2!
Chris beatboxing over the food for some extra flavor.
Smiling from beginning to end! I can't quite imagine what the vinegar'd gyudon a-la-Pettas must have tasted, though, hahaha.
Production value on this is so high (tbh it's always great). Very impressive and fun!
Just wondering when we'll be holding Chris accountable to his many kitchen war crimes. Am I the only one having flashbacks to the TC video where he destroyed Sharla's cookware with a metal spoon?🤣🤣🤣
I was waiting for this one, ever since seeing Champ punch Nick in the gut, but the addition of the affable one was unexpected.
I love your videos how to do high quality authentic japanese food, but there's also a joy in pointing out people who know some basics and saying what not to do.
These people are trying to make Chris a good cook and I'm all for it! Congrats, Chris!
Awesome!! I love watching you Champ, and this crossover episode is such a great Xmas present.
I have to say, Nick has a massive JP Belmondo vibe to him and i love it so much. Wonderful video!
Great concept for a new series! I'm looking forward to the next episodes:)

Amazing like always Champ! Somehow your instructions even made Mr. Affable capable of cooking something edible!
I can't believe that Abroad in a Pan not only didn't poison anyone, but he also won! Good job Criss!
3 champions in this video!! The boxing champion himself, the K-1 champion and the chess boxing champ
Love your videos Champ. Your English is excellent. Lots of practice. My mom was born and raised in Japan. Chiba prefecture. So I understand how difficult it can be. That said I will try to practice on my cooking skills to attain the same results. Keep it up!
@abroadinjapan this is your sign to start a food channel called “Abroad in a pan”!
Oh wow Champ has truly reached the big leagues!
This was a very entertaining watch, I should try to make it sometime because it's pretty simple with instructions
This is a great series Champ, can't wait for the next one!
Great idea Champ! Bring it on. Can't wait for another episode. But don't forget to make usual ones as well. Love your recipes.
What a good video and loved seeing Meilyn help judge.
11:06 "Uhhhhh that's not mirin." Lmao, the mystery of why he grabbed that is solved.
20:55 That shot of him holding up the vinegar! I can't stop laughing 😂
keep it up champ, been binge watching your videos since my wisdom tooth removal. Love your videos! super comforting
This was awesome!
Love the content Chef!
Well this is a fun change of pace!
This was fun! Chris really doesn’t know what to do 😂

commenting for algorithm, this video has so much potential considering the number of cameos
Awesome competition! Love to see more content like this 😆
production going off the charts 😂😂😂
Did anyone ever tell Nick about the vinegar?
Way to go Chris!👍 (Thank God nobody died of food poisoning. 😏) Very well done! (Except for the crack yolk. But very on brand.)
Does this mean when Chris goes back to Japan, he can wear his own championship belt?
This was rigged 😂, for people that don't know Chris is the secret 4th member of trash taste and meilyne is the Boss of trash taste 😁, jokes aside this was an awesome watch and it was nice seeing the blue eye samurai cook, nice work tomodachi and thank you" Champ's japanese kitchen" for the awesome video
Great stuff Champ!! Great idea!!!
Chris chopping the onion leaves me with a mixture of strong amusement and strong disappointment.
Didn't you guys tell Nick that he mistook vinegar for mirin - at least after the final judgement?
Right??? I was so surprised they didn’t tell him! Still, he commented on the video, so hopefully he’s seen it now 😅
Great video Champ! Love seeing you collab with the others!
Nick accidentally made Adobo or at least something close to that and I am laughing with joyous glee
A very fun contest. Well done
11:38 is my favorite LOL. Didn't know Chris could speak Wookie :'D it is in my Discord soundboard now!
Great episode, grats Chris. Your guidon looked とてもおいしい.
I would watch Abroad in Japan every day. if He did something outside everyday.
Its like hanging out in Japan for a couple of hours a night.
Awesome episode!!!! Cant wait for the next contest!
Yes! I'm gonna love this series, I can tell already. Awesome video and series idea Champ!
If Abroad in A Pan can win a cooking challenge I can take over the world. Well done Chris. Well done.
I'm surprised Nic lost, but this was a fun video! Honestly I'm just hoping for more videos with Nic and Champ.
Wow Chris actually won a cooking contest or even just a round! Crazy!
Mr. Affable himself Chris, did a great job all things considered lol
You never miss with a video.
They're always insanely entertaining hahaha.
Even saved some of your videos so I can do those dishes myself
Chris should pursue a cooking carreer
I think for British standards he is outstanding
I want to see Shogo (from let's ask Shogo) versus somebody equally serious such as Ryotaro (Ryotaro's Japan.) But definitely make them cook something silly like omurice with a cute ketchup drawing!
Wow, you're sponsored now Ryosuke! Good to see your channel gaining traction now.
Chris getting W's left and right
I love Champs videos, but sadly it is hard to get some ingredients in the Netherlands...

3 champs in the kitchen
Chris Broad cooking! Now I’ve seen it all. 😂 (just kidding he’s been out doing himself lately). Good try everyone!
PS: No recipe? That’s terrifying. 😅
Love this new cooking challenge series❤
Another one for the abroad in a pan show.
Amazing Video, looking forward to see the next contest.
Great contest!
Thank you!
Affable cooking! and best of all, a very affable video!
Such a good series!
I loved this episode and that add from champ was so funny.
Hi Champ, I like to see you cook a japanese dish with kangaroo as I think it will give you a challenge
Looks like we know who will be cooking the dinners at home for Sharla.
Meilyn casually roasting British cuisine totally killed me😂 she's right though
"She's outta line...but she's right" :P
Not really, British confectionary and baking is some of the best in world. Americans just like to act that Britain is still in the midst of WW2.
Champ i feel for you, having to deal with those two...lol
i only just started the video too haha
the level of pain already is unmatched hehe lol
YESSSSS MORE ABROAD IN A PAN
Wow the similarities between Ryosuke and Nick! I want a sparring match!!!
Great video guys

When you're cooking a traditional dish, "it tastes like something else" is the second to last thing you want to hear. (The last is, of course, "I hate it.") Not heard of Burdock being used before Other than dandelion and burdock pop ( doubt there is any real burdock in that tho )
AbroadInAPan is back
Chris making edible food. I didn't think i live to experience this
Nic had great progress, while Chris spent 5 hours with the onions. Also Chris making the scraping sound with the metal on metal 😬😬
