She inserted herself in there because she was singing the opening of demon slayer of course, and maybe wanted to put her character in there as a way of portraying that. So basically, it's an OC for demon slayer, or 'Original Character' created by yourself, and inserting that into a certain anime. That's what she did.

One thing that makes demon slayer unique is the presentation of the bond between a brother and a sister so beautifully that no other anime or TV shows has ever shown, according to my opinion.
There is nothing stronger than a brother and sister bond
Many anime focus on the relationship between the main character and his love interest, but not as many focus on the relationship between siblings, especially siblings who have no other family but each other anymore.
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is also a great example of a strong sibling bond

You can like whichever better, it's valid.
Personally, there's a lot about the original that I've come to love very deeply, and I think I like the instrumental of the original MUCH better. It's just so damn special!
But this version is also incredibly important and special to me personally, and there are a few lines, like "until it blooms a bright red" that I like better than the original lyric wise, which is "shine the fate". (I turn on subtitles for the Japanese version)
But in the break section at about 3:05 the originals line is "everyone wants happiness"
It's so simple, yet so profound! Easily one of my favorite lines period, let alone my favorite version of this section of the song.
Of course, it wouldn't have worked in the english version. The words in english and the music just don't line up, but that doesn't change how I feel about it in the original. ^.^
All of my more detailed thoughts aside, these are just my feelings towards each version of the song. Everyones is a little different, and that's ok. It's to be expected.
So there's not really a "wrong" or "right" answer here. Just different people feeling different ways.

The flowers at the end of the episodes are actually Red Spider Lilies, Muzan needs a *Blue* Spider Lily (which is very rare and wilts easily) to be able to walk under the sun and he would be the "perfect" demon he's always wanted to be (and he would be extremely powerful, killing humans left and right). However, the Blue Spider Lily only blooms in the day which is a massive dilema for Muzan. He killed his only hope out of rage so he is searching for a way to walk under the sun without consuming the Lily. He doesn't want to spread his kind but he has to, hoping that there will be a demon who is able to walk under the sun one day (which he has to consume)

I’m tired of everyone hating on the video. Like, of course the lyrics aren’t gonna be perfect, they have to be adjusted to fit the song. And different translations can vary. This cover is honestly amazing and I listen to it all the time, all the hate is just getting ridiculous at this point.
AmaLee has also stated in a past April fools video, if she did the "exact English translation" for the songs, the lyrics would not make a lot of sense. Which is why everyone who does translate things into English (subbers etc) never do exact translations but instead, write translations that make sense in English, but at the same time don't stray too far from the original dialogue/or lyric thus of course the end result will not be a direct translation.

@Isaac Axisa it still generally had the same meaning, she used synonyms and changed up the phrasing a little bit but it's kind of up to the translator as to how they change it. same thing with subtitles on anime, there are times when it's not actually a direct translation, but it reads smoother than what it actually means.
