    Remember my comments about poor quality electronic components with the regulator rectifier. In the end I bought a 2022 Yam XSR 700 (with 110 miles on), lo and behold they have a really soft front end too. There are similar discussions within the forums and youtube vids on the best way to overcome this and when it comes to the YSS emulator, spring and preload adjuster kit there are the same old discussions on the "to drill or not to drill" question. At least we know the answer don't we.

      Well, so far,I certainly do. Len will probably concur later today. And others have drilled too.

      How are you liking the Yamaha then? I’ve always liked Yamahas since I bought a brand-new XS1100 in 1979.

      @@internetpolification I've not had it 2 weeks yet and given the weather and having a really bad cold I've not ridden it yet. Having read and watched all the tests and reviews I think I know what to expect. It only has 100 miles on it so reluctant to get out in this weather. still have big respect for the Interceptor though! My wish list for bits and mods for an interceptor was getting too big. The Yamaha addresses some of those desires but still needs an aftermarket exhaust (std sounds like sewing machine) and some suspension work. The reviews of the 689 CP2 engine and lighter weight probably tipped it, though the interceptor is a better looking bike. Good to see you continuing to enjoy yours and getting it how you want it.

      @@ruahinesrider ahah! Yes! My hand grinder job wasn’t quite right but is now cured! I remember those instructions for drilling on the Australian blurb. I’m 99% sure it was the same here in the U.K. I think YSS don’t want to compromise sales by recommending fork removal, damper drilling etc and market their kit as a simple ‘plug and play thing. Which it isn’t………

    Defo drill them i think
    YSS just dont wanna put people off buying the springs if folks really new that drilling is for best preformance

    • @internetpolification
      @internetpolification  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I think that’s exactly it! It’s easier to sell a ‘plug and play’ upgrade kit than to tell everyone to strip the fork legs, drill dampers etc etc. I’m not really impressed by that philosophy, tbh
