Nick from Jordan Bikes in Leeds, UK, explains how they Remap a bikes standard ECU on their Dyno. They use Woolich Racing software and Dynojet 250i Dyno hardware.
Excellently explained . I can tell you actually know what your talking about . To all the potential customers spend the three thirty you won't regret it . There was a local mechanic / genius who blue printed the engine on my GPZ 1100 the difference it made was nothing short of miraculous . I know I'm going back 30 years but basic principles still apply .
If you put an after market exhaust on and invoke more air through the air path, your lambda sensor would adjust for any A/F imbalance. That is literally the lambda sensors function! You don't need a 'remap' just because of an aftermarket exhaust.
You do you. Bikes are Euro 5 now and the fuel maps are made to run so lean out the factory, same with throttle mapping they don’t give you even a fraction of 100%. Honestly a remap is the best money you can spend on a bike these days and that’s with prices being circa £450 these days.
Thanks for the helpful advice, iv been riding bikes for about 7 years but haven't ever thought about any major mods apart from an exhaust. What would be your advice as iv just bought a brand new 2017 CBR650f. I'm really interested in these mods but on a new bike this would affect warranties and such? From what I remember if I remember my gap insurance said something about 'the bike cannot be modified' but I was told my full system racing Akro was ok and wouldn't void it. Would this be a problem or should I at least wait till the end of the warranty period?
Took my Suzuki GSX-S 1000 in to get the ECU remapped. All fuelling issues that are standard of these bikes are gone! Gained an extra 13 BHP as a brucie bonus! The bike felt superb leaving the car park and made me smile even more when twisting the throttle ✊🏼! I can’t recommend this highly upgrade enough!
i have 2 questions. my bike is a 2016 Kawasaki er6n. i have fitted a sc project full system, and a healtech quickshitfter. 1. is there a dinojet power commander available for my bike? ( i have looked and cant find any) 2 if so is it compatible with the quickshifter? thanks in advance.
Hi nick, have you any experience with bmw r1250gs bikes, mines a 2022 bike, i normally use quantum remaps locally to me,rotherham but i think these maps are just generic maps that was created on a stock 1250gs bike, ive also fitted quantum maps to a 1200gs and a 2018 1250gs all good results and all my bikes modified as belowe, although now mapped its runs lots better and perfect im thinking i need a custon map as my bike has free flow air filter, cat bypass and free flow arrow race can. its running stock engine breathers going back in the airbox which im going to move and its still got the exhaust flat fitted, do i want to be deleting this exhaust flap or leave it on, any advice would be great and can you crreate a custom map for my spec bike. thanks Dodge.
Once a bike has a £220 map and if the owner doesn’t like the outcome can it be reverted back to the original ecu map? And does a customer have to sign a disclaimer so if for some reason the bike and the new map don’t work properly it’s down to the customer to get fixed? So in short if something goes wrong during or after the map will Jordan bikes fix Z problem. Thanks
Luke G if you are unhappy with your extra power and smoother throttle we can remove the work we’ve done. What we do will certainly work properly, there’ll be nothing to fix afterwards. In 17 years of tuning bikes we have never had a customer ask us to put their bike back to standard, as the improvements are fantastic. If you don’t want more power then don’t book in, but if you do, you’ll like the outcome.
...... Dopey question Nick, I'm an old fart teetering on my "three score & ten" and I now ride a 2007 Burgman 400 scooter here in Brazil. I cannot get it to run smoothly, hesitant throttle response, the design is old, the IAC valve is just a 2 wire solenoide in or out job. Is it possible to bench map the ECU without having the bike there and on a dyno ? Thanks, Chris in Brazil.
@@jordanbikestv Hey Nick ! Thank you for your reply ! I'm slowly beginning to understand this "new-fangled" injection stuff ! haha It seems that most of the sensors are basically potentiometers that have some mechanical method of moving of a contact coil giving a variable 0 - 5v. signal to the ECU. Here in Brazil the sensors from the concessionaire are silly expensive, but I have found chinese ones that appear to be the same as the originals, but at 1/10th. of the price ! Just a quick question.... if these sensors work inside such a tight resistance/voltage range 0 - 5v. are they much the same ?, for example the MAP, (400mm.Hg), sensor on my bike appears to be exactly the same as the one Mitsubishi and Toyota use on some of their cars and trucks, and the simple two-wire TPS sensors only seem to vary in their mounting and turn direction, left or right-hand ! Obviously I understand that the originals would probably be the best bet, but I would have to stop eating for a couple of months to be able to buy those ! hahaha Thanks and Cheers, Chris in Brazil
Does your mapping take into account cylinder variances? I.e. cylinder 1 might be lean, 2 might be rich, 3 and 4 are ok? ......I understand this is the best method?
hey i am using powertronic piggyback ecu for ,so it works in close loop system or any piggyback ecu ? cus every bike has o2 sensor and no matter we had fuel o2 sensor eventually bring the figures to stock ? can u explain me the procedure ? 😀 and plus my piggyback ecu has ignition timing and fuel map or proper ecu flashing is better option?
Many bikes have an O2 sensor but many are narrow band not wide band. My understanding is the narrow is like on off i.e. lean, ok or rich, but not by how much. Wide is like lean, good, rich, and by how much.
If you get a full system for your bike is it ESSENTIAL to get a tune as well? I’m considering a full system just because there aren’t any slip on options for the CBR650F without cutting and welding. Also can you tune it with a stock exhaust and have it work well with an aftermarket one as well? Thanks Alistair
alistair tang fitting a full race exhaust will usually alter the fuelling so much that you lose bottom end and mid range power, as well as running too lean/hot. Unless you spend the extra and have it mapped correctly we’d recommend leaving the exhaust alone rather than fitting a full race exhaust. We can map a bike with either the standard or a race exhaust, but if the exhaust is then changed, it will no longer be running perfectly,
jordanbikestv one more question: Can you reflash the ECU on any bike with EFI? More specifically a 2018 CBR650F. Or is a Power Commander/Bazzaz the only way to go? Thanks Alistair
Gee Six the same as the immediate effect. Better mpg, more power, more torque, smoother throttle, restrictions removed. It runs as the factory intended before the were forced to tone it all down for EU regulations.
Combat Geeks it costs tens of thousands of pounds to develop the remap for each bike, an Australian company does the development, and so we don’t offer remaps for every bike out there, just the ones they’ve developed and tried and tested, and demand for 125s is small so it’s not one they’ve put money into. With the best will in the world a remap on a 125 4 stroke might get an extra 1 BHP so it wouldn’t be great value for the bikes owner either, as it takes many hours and costs £380 to do, so 125s just aren’t on our list I’m sorry. Thank you for the interest 👍🏼
