ZooParc de Beauval Gorillas Jump Wall To Get To Their Enrichment

- The Gorilla troop from the ZooParc de Beauval is outside.
I thought it might be because of the salt content in the walls, as I witnessed this before with the Twycross Zoo gorillas. The zoo have now explained:
" We understand the concerns of your followers. No need to worry! The zookeepers and the vet team passionately look after this group and ensure they receive a diet adapted to their needs.
On your video, our team spread food (honey, porridge, etc.) on the wall to stimulate the gorillas. This is known as "enrichment." The gorillas are looking after their food and they love it !
Dishes are given to them daily in which they find the minerals they need. In addition to this, they receive fresh vegetables and fruits every day, as well as fresh branches."

I think they might avoid that because bark provides the necessary sodium, and giving them salt stones could result in an excessive intake, but I'm not entirely sure. I think this is just an additional craving they have.

How often do u travel to France to see thesegorillas?
I only went once and did a big round trip to see some other Gorilla troops as well.
@SloggerVlogger are the Zookeepers Paying Attention!!!! 😡 If the family is going to such Lengths to satisfy what is Evidently a Mineral Deficiency??? SOMETHING should be done about it for Heaven’s sake!!!!!! 🤷🏽♀️
Behaviour can be natural and not necessarily a sign of deficiency. Gorillas have an instinct to seek out salt even if they are getting enough from their diet, like browse and plants. I guess just like us humans who crave a packet of crisps/chips. It doesn't necessarily mean we are having a salt deficiency, but to make doubly sure, I will contact the zoo and make them aware.
