This year, 2020, is one I cannot wait for it to be over! I lost my Father-In-Law (a Vietnam Veteran) and my Father (a Korean War Veteran) within five months of each other. My Father-In-Law died in May and my Father died on October 16th. This is my first Veterans Day without them .... without me being able to call them and thanking them for their service as well! PLEASE, if you have a family member who is a Veteran, call them and tell them how much they mean to you and how much you love them!! Because TRUST ME, you will wish you had done it more when they are gone!! GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR VETERANS!!!! @Hollywood Graveyard thank you so much for doing this!!

If ever a man or woman donned the American Armed Services uniform....then they were an A-lister🥰 No performance was ever as great as that of a service person fighting for the freedoms awarded to Americans. I thank you all, for what you did, and I applaud those today, who carry on that tradition🐾🐾🦊🐺
I am remembering my mother and father today, both WWII veterans. She served in England and France as an Army nurse and he served in the US Navy in the South Pacific. They, among the others of that era, were the "Greatest Generation."
LANC is unique in that the older section (north) has all the uprights and the "newer" section (south) has the flat, ground markers. LANC is full up to new interrements, unless there is a companion crypt for a spouse of family members. Thats why they built the new columbaria across the freeway.
I am a veteran from a family of veterans going all the way back to the Spanish American war. This video moved me. I think of all of my Army brothers who are now gone. Thank you Arthur for this wonderful video and for remembering those who served and are gone from this mortal world. To all the veterans, thank you for your service!

LANC is in my Top 3 favorite SoCal cemeteries. And w/ the new columbaria, across the 405, it makes it that much more honorable to me. I've visited quite a few of the famous that Arthur showcased here but my fascination w/ these hallowed grounds are the 14 Medal Of Honor recipients that call this place their Valhalla. Anyone else notice just how many of these actors were officers during their military careers? I always feel the sheer honor of those that rest at LANC when I visit. Makes me proud to walk amongst those that served before me. And a nice shout out to my fellow shipmates interred here.
A very interesting episode. I find touching the amount of research that you do for giving each one of these persons, even the less known, a face, to narrate their stories and honor their legacy. Too many died too young, alas. A funny note: on the poster of House on Telegraph Hill the name of Italian diva Valentina CortesE, wife of Richard Basehart, is misspelt in CORTESA.

That cemetery is huge. I come from a long line, 2 brothers, husband, son, daughter in law, uncle. I agree with thanking every single one of them for their service, but let us not forget the families of these service people, especially the families of their members now have life long physical disabilities. My husband, my baby son both injured for life.

His last film appearance was in "Crime On Their Hands". He played a heavy or a Cop, even a cave man who said to the Three Stooges, "You stole our girls, you horse thieves!" LMAO!
My grandfather, a SGT in the Army during WWI, is buried there. I live out of the area now, and it was nice to see the cemetery grounds and remember my last visit to his grave there. Thank you for making this!!
My dad was a veteran and an old school Hollywood buff. I’m glad you’d consider him a star in his own right. Radioman in Vietnam for the USMC. He was my star. I wish he was still alive. He would have loved this channel and he would have known so many of these stars and these movies. As it is, I only know some of them because he gave me an old school Hollywood education until he died when I was 13. Thank you veterans.
I am remembering my uncles, J. Warren Kohlmann and James Pishioneri, both of whom served in the Army during the Korean War. Happy Veterans Day in heaven! I also remember my grandfather, Floyd Bernd, who served in the Army during WWII, but never saw combat.

Dean Paul (Dino) Martin, died in the crash of a military jet while on a training flight. It broke Dean Martins heart; friends say he never got over it and gave up on his career, his life, and yes, he even welcomed the end 'cause that's when the pain stops.

ANC is still closed to the public. My parents are interred there. Admission is strictly controlled with masks required inside a closed car.

It's amazing to me that many of these larger than life people are remembered by the most modest markers .

What a great way to honor some of our heroes, Arthur❣I thank everyone for serving our country. My grandfather served in the Navy during WWI and my father and uncles in the Army during the Korean conflict. Most recently my cousin served in the Army during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Dean Paul (Dino) Martin, died in the crash of a military jet while on a training flight. It broke Dean Martins heart; friends say he never got over it and gave up on his career, his life, and yes, he even welcomed the end 'cause that's when the pain stops.
