Glad this got recommended to me, and the impulse buy theory is very true. I bought the ion 2.0 set, never once have i touched the vandal skin. I have so many that just doesn't get used, and they just sit in my locker.
Keep in mind that having multiple skins for a gun you use often can keep the gun from being stale because if ion gets boring you can swap to neptune. I use that as a cope for my 4 vandal skins

I’ve spent $210 so far. The impulse got me I’ve wanted magepunk ghost for a while and infantry ghost popped up one day so I bought it bc I wanted a ghost skin. next day magepunk ghost. Haven’t used infantry since
impulse buy is smth i did too bc origin vandal came cheap asf in my night market and I forced myself to get it bc it was less money and its a pretty rare deal. the prices of skins in valorant are also lowkey a problem they just get increasingly pricier every time
Also they make skins and bundles cost a little bit over a round number like 2000 or 5000 so you have to spend another $10 to get the skin or bundle you want
There is only one time/purchase where i fell for the four skin store system. I was new to the game, and have bought the Recon Phantom from my night market. Great! Now i have a phantom skin. Some time later, the Neptune Vandal appeared on my store. I ignore it. Then some time later, it appeared again! I took it as a sign and said screw it im buying this. Looking back now - after buying the Recon Phantom on my first night market, after buying the Neptune Vandal at full price from the four skin store, after buying the Ion 2.0 bundle, after buying the Reaver Guardian on the most recent night market that just passed - i would say buying the Neptune Vandal at full price on the four skin store is the worst purchase i have objectively made. I can justify buying skins at a discount, through the night market and bundle (get knife for free) - but i can no longer justify buying from a four skin store that creates false scarcity. It is predatory. It is despicably revolting. Straight up mind manipulating evilness. Money money money.

The night market makes this effect even worse in my opinion! People will buy skins they don't really want way faster when they are in thé night market because it's cheaper and you don't get a night market very Often.
bruh i bought undercity phantom, then got the RGX, then the next day the Oni.2.0 came out, but thankfully I didn't by that. But if i just waited till the next day I coudl of got Oni vandal

i had the same experience with the sol vandal and araxys vandal and now i have both skins while i rarely use sol vandal anymore
