My 1200 model is precisely 1216A model. I think the second number 15 or 16 depends on region. I'm from Europe and I always see those 16 models. I think the 15 models are only for Japan and North America, countries that use 120 volts while Europe and basically the rest of the world uses 230 volts mains electricity. The power supplies inside must be slightly different. That's just my theory but I think I'm right.

I tried to put my Kingston fury renegade with heatsink inside my 1216A but it doesnt go inside even with every angle possible and with force it wont. Did they change something?
Yup I have 1215B and its digital edition, so A is disc and B is digital and 15 is north American and Japan and 16 is the rest of the world and the 12 is for the actual model design.

Yea, the console gets lighter mainly for shipping...and lower quality materials. The controllers get better and last longer.
I heard the launch model weighs a pound more than the 1200 model lol.

1215a means it's the disc version of the console 1215b would be the digital model the same with the previous versions!

The new 1200 series has a new revise 6NM chip and runs more efficiently and cooler than the previous version that had a 7NM chip

My wife and me got our brand new PS5 last night and it’s the chi-1215a and hers was manufactured in November of 2022 and myn was manufactured in September of 2022 and what I do notice is that they do run a bit cooler heck myn runs cooler then my series x day one edition 😂

Nah I think you’ll be fine my launch edition has been just fine.

Hi are there any differences between the cfi 1215a version and the cfi 2000 version which I believe is the slim? I just bought the 1215a version without realizing that it wasn’t the slim. Does it even matter? Should I return it and get a slim? Im just Switches over from ps4 so I’m not really sure about any of this technical jargon.
It’s just whatever you prefer there no really difference to be honest.

1200 series has a better chip. DF also showed that the heat sink difference is negligible.

@@TwistedGamingTV In what world dude? PS1, 2, 3, 4 (and probably 5 in the future) all release revisions bit the dust and/or had a multitude of issues. And don't even get me started with the 360... Later revisions are usually without a doubt superior in almost every single way. But particularly in efficiency and heat production/dissipation. (Which means a much longer lifespan)

@@TwistedGamingTVthat doesn't mean the revisions that improve over the og last less.. The 1200 is more likely to last longer anyway because it doesn't heat up as much as the 10 or 11 models and it's more efficient

i got the new god of war cd version I play PC more so it's still in the box unopened.
My friend got one also the god of war edition it's weird because it says august 2022 CFI-1215A.
I thought the model would be different but it says October or something can anyone verify if their god of war edition also says August 2022 also?

im from Hungary. Just got my PS5 - CFI1200 modell. Chinese letters on the box and manual. But in the menu i can set hungarian language, everything works fine. Is this modell worse than normal local models 1216 ?

Less heat sink more fan noise.I would not go for the new model if you do not like fan noise,and i dont talk about coil whine but really audiable fan noise,they had to wramp it up because lack of heat sink i would go for a larger heat sink any day,it just pure logic at this point.

Launch model is better💯 As you mentioned before the heat sink for launch model is bigger than the current models. Sony got too cheap lol

The call of duty MW2 model is not the same as the Launch PS5 that dropped in 2020.
