    Gosh, l like your finished garment. This is unique!!
    The white tape, is double sided..meaning the two materials must have glue on the denim and the lace netting...when ironed, the glue fuses/ holds on, the two materials together, and stabilizes them to allow easier sewing on the face of the denim. Now the delicate lace will not move...................Very clever. Thank you!

      This was a Telio print, sadly it's harder to find now! But searching for "embroidered mesh" will definitely get you some beauties :)

    • @thehandmadeharriells
      @thehandmadeharriells Před 4 lety +1

      @V Kelly is correct, I use steam a seam, the "lite" version is my favorite! The mesh was super popular and hard to source now...it was Telio fabrics, if you want to keep an eye out!

    Could I also glue the mesh instead of using the tape? What other see thru fabrics could we use that are not so expensive. Thank you. Y am totally determined to make this. Just not want to risk a beautiful mesh cause I’m a beginner.

    • @thomty5576
      @thomty5576 Před 2 lety

      Yes.. Use Fabric glue which can be washed and dried in the machines. You may want to use tulle or find the bridal fabric when it’s on sale at Joann Fabric.

  • @chandanabanerjee5925
    @chandanabanerjee5925 Před 3 lety

    The design Idea pretty good but I did the same thing before just made cutting the jeans first then stitches the design net inside. that I felt easy. cause if you could not pinch the net & denim in a right manner, you might cut the net fabric too...whatever...good Ideas.

  • @micheledickey4066
    @micheledickey4066 Před 5 lety +2

    I was wondering why you don’t cut out the panels first?

    • @pamthetraveler7224
      @pamthetraveler7224 Před 5 lety +2

      michele Dickey because it’s easier to maneuver one large piece of mesh versus multiple smaller pieces.

    • @micheledickey4066
      @micheledickey4066 Před 5 lety +1

      PamelaBarnes QuiltsByPamela I mean you could cut the panels out and then lay the jacket out, apply the tape and then still use a big piece of lace.

    • @geministargazer9830
      @geministargazer9830 Před 5 lety +1

      Its easier to keep the structure of the jacket this way

    • @pamthetraveler7224
      @pamthetraveler7224 Před 5 lety +4

      @@micheledickey4066 with mesh fabric, or anything silky, fabric shifts...so if you're off by just a smidge, the panel might be too small. If you lay it over the entire thing and then cut, it's more accurate and less prone to error. Of course, if you only have small pieces and need to do it in smaller cuts you can. Just more chance that slippery fabric won't be cut accurately enough. There's not a lot of forgiveness when the denim part in between mesh is so thin.

    • @thehandmadeharriells
      @thehandmadeharriells Před 4 lety

      @PamelaBarnes & @GeminiStargazer have put it perfectly! Plus... it's super fun when you cut the denim away to reveal your work ;)
