What sets apart the Leones from other gangs associated with the protagonist that took over the city is how they still had enemies around, enemies that proved troublesome years later, with the Yakuza being able to finish Salvatore off and the Colombian Cartel being a larger organisation. I guess that Salvatore’s whole operation got screwed by the robbery in 1992, because were the situation different, Salvatore would’ve had the resources to destroy the other gangs and heavily expand his operations but he didn’t so he had to resort to political tactics. CJ didn’t kill that many of his men, but he struck a large blow to the organisation.
U know like actually what I meant by sayin that they got to the top of the tree I meant they got to the top of the Italian tree, cuh like u said Yakuza and Cartel were still a thing and the Leones didnt really take over the city, they just eliminated the other mafias. Yeah CJ fucked em up, I wonder whether Salvatore actually tried to get revenge on him later

yeah true, but well desire for revenge can be very strong sometimes, look at how far Niko went to chase Darko down, and LC and SA is very close to each other in comparison to Eastern Europe

I guess Salvatore just had too many problems at home but I doubt he has forgotten CJ’s betrayal, so by the time he was somewhat remotely free to pursue a different goal he either just gave up on taking out CJ or just still concerned with keeping Liberty on his hold, which wasn’t fully settled due to the mob wars and the Colombians and yakuza still around
The fort Staunton incident is still probably the most heinous crime I’ve committed in a GTA game to this date, which is saying a lot. I actually still feel guilt for what I did to those innocent npc civilians.
