Based in Wrexham, North Wales and Serving Cheshire, the North West, North Wales and North Shropshire we are an independent family run business; we are proud to have the privilege of owning one of London’s most recognisable sights - the iconic London Routemaster Double Decker Bus!
Our beautifully restored red London double-decker buses are available for Weddings and Special Events, they add some nostalgic novelty and a touch of class to any occasion.
All our buses are the iconic Routemaster London Double-Decker bus; each vehicle has been beautifully restored back to the original 1960's condition. With immaculate paint and bodywork, they are real head-turners. Inside they are equally pleasing with comfortable re-upholstered seats and authentic 1960s colour scheme; the interior paintwork is complemented by varnished wooden floors and tungsten lighting which create a warm homely glow inside the bus.

Hello. Longer videos are brilliant. Not boring at all.
"Dozy Dave" passes the laborious job on. Lol! Good work chaps.
Thats the art of delegation Andrew!
as me in the usa has never seen a roadmaster bmc lyon bus or truck ,,,,, i wanted to thank you for showing me all about it and how it comes to pieces and reassembled
The more videos I watch, the more I want to meet Tim, I find him so much like me 😁. I'd also love to meet to meet Dozy Dave and everyone else on the team. Regardless though, the videos are great and I love watching them.
I loved the condition and preservation of what's there and can be seen
Really good, ...she's looking better every time I watch and I just love watching other people work (How sad!)
Happy and Prosperous new year to you all. Your command of the technical language in the out take!
Such attention to detail nice to see the wheels looking Bristol fashion and ship shape again 😀.
Love watching these videos and the effort that is put into the quality of them deserves more subscribers, you will need to look at merchandise, mugs, T-shirt’s etc, just an idea.
Thanks Stuart, we are working on that, so watch this space.
Really enjoyed watching your professional restoration, I always wanted a Routemaster, ended up with a small collection of fire engines, sold them years ago,
Very very awesome work!
Choccy blokes are the worst idea of all time ! A nice little terminal rail would finish it off lovely
Nice work !
OMG them buses are fabulous
The Green on the Indicator ears could have been from RM1214s days with Halifax Joint Committee as I've seen a few pictures on Flickr of her in their livery with you guessed it Green Brackets so all part of 1214s history! I've recently found your channel and may I say I think it's excellent that we get to see the beginning during and end plus we get the outtakes and bloopers it's fantastic that you all have a little light hearted Japery at the end with the outtakes/bloopers and who doesn't love an RM or an RT I Grew up in East Kent territory and had many a trip to London saw RMs, The Slightly larger RMLs, Titans, Nationals & MetroBuses! Later East Kent pretty much got re-equipped with ex London Stock with the Scania's & a Load of Titans all converted to single door operation many appeared in London Bus Red! Anyway sorry for the long comment just thought I'd say I love what you do keeping the Spirit of the Routemaster Alive!
The CZcams algorithm is how I found your channel.
Many Many thanks for filming the progress on the restoration of RM1214! These small niggling jobs are so important and you have carried out the work to your excellent standard!! Great!!
Great job on the wheels
Excellent video and great to see how much effort care and precision is put into restoring these British Legendary Routemasters.
I will look forward to having a ride on one of your fleet once lock down is eased. Keep up the excellent work and videos. Really enjoy watching.
Many thanks!
Thank you Dave for posting these videos. Informative, enjoyable and watching RM1214 slowly coming back to life is wonderful
Glad you enjoyed it
I love your bus videos
Thank you Jay.
@@Routemaster4Hire would you like to be my friend and like my email address
I have not seen all the videos but I could not help noticing you had the right blinds showing on the bus to match the 190 route (as was). You even added the "TC" garage code for a bus based at South Croydon Garage (the TC actually stands for "Thompson Coachworks" the former owners of the building). I used to live near South Croydon and the 190 Routemasters would go by while I waited for a 68 (as was) to go to school.
Hi Patrick, All my buses have the TC garage code as I grew up in Coulsdon, so South Croydon was my local garage too. I thought TC stood for Tillings Croydon?
that was the best 32 minutes i've spent since your last video... am i an anorak?
Thank you!
wow the time and detail put into just them indicators was amazing just a simple job that would seem so easy took ages but great result dozy dave
I saw you were using a 3/8" drive ratchet there. When I've encountered tough fasteners with a 3/8", I found switching to a 1/2" drive makes it so much easier to tackle.
Fantastic job looks so much better. I could watch your videos all day long. 👍
Wow, thanks!
I wheelie enjoyed that, looking forward to the next one.
Hi THERE GUYS VERY NICE JOB YOU HAVE DONE
Definitely put some anti-seize on those bolts holding that signal bracket make it easier next time.
Brilliant yet again! I agree with a comment about merchandise...great idea! Keep up the good work looking forward to the next video.
Love to see a few shiny bits on an RM especially nut guards. I can only assume the yellow hubs were a leftover from its days at Halifax Joint Committee though it did see private hire use with Yorkshire Heritage bus hire. Good to see them in a fresh coat of Indian red. Stencil plates are often missing so it’s nice to see them back. Will be good to see it all finally finished. Looking forward to getting RM378 out for a spin soon.
Hi Gary, yes the yellow hubs are from the HJC livery and as the bus was fitted with bin lids you couldn't see the hubs so they were never painted. Enjoy taking 378 out and hopefully catch up at a rally soon.
Excellent
Perfect!
Hi Dave.
Another great vid ! Excellent work ! Keep it up guys ! 'Dopey Dave' ??? - at least we know what direction to tighten nearside wheel nuts !
Ha Ha ... All the best 😀
Thanks Andrew, I'll make sure Tim reads your comment - very funny!
Try using a impact driver to remove difficult bolts--it works for me
I think you have all done a brilliant job given the situation..well done,I love the enthusiasm, thanks a lot.👍😀. Roly using my wife’s account.
Glad you enjoyed it
When I was a conductor in the 1970's we called them (garage stencil plates) 'running boards' or maybe that was just the inserts
Looking better and better. It’s a tease seeing the waypoint blinds in the background having family in Downham and coming from Sydenham I’ve been trying to remember which routes they belonged to as they mention Catford and Southend Lane. Rather surprised that the indicators are connected with choccy blocks, given the build period I expected the old soldered bullets with the rubber covered sockets.
I cant remember what garage the destination blinds are from, will take a look for you next time I get the ladder out. You find those chocolate blocks are quite common on Routemasters.
perhaps a drop of "plus-gas" on the indicator ear bolts? i use it all the time and thoroughly recommend it
Excellent attention to detail is first class lovely bus I presume your vehicles are garaged .😎👍
Hi Michael, Yes they are always kept inside when not in use.
we have one AEC with utic body in azores portugal the engine is back in horizontal mode and they have this shine too
You need a heat induction system for bolts like that
Nice tapping👍 One turn then quarter turn back to break the swarf. Great stuff Tim.
Thanks 👍
Is it wrong I laughed at the “inappropriate?” Rolf impression Dozy Dave?
Not as wrong as the person who said it!!
Hi guys thank you once again for another excellent video from all of you. Keep up the good work all you you are doing such a excellent job. I look forward to your next video and the outtakes. How many owners has the bus had since leaving London transport before you purchased it?
Hi Lee, I believe we are the 4th owners since the bus left LT - Halifax Joint Committee, Yorkshire Heritage, Mark Cribb and then ourselves.
@@Routemaster4Hire thank you for replying to my comment.👍
A Tillings Croydon garage code. I worked at TL on RMs
I grew up in Coulsdon hence why my buses all carry TC plates.
Congratulations, you hit 10.000 viewers :-)
May I ask from whom the music at the intro is?
The lad spray painting should have had a mask on with using 2k paint .
Where do you get your paint from? Really enjoy watching your videos and watching someone who knows what they are doing. I used to drive a Plaxton Leyland Leopard ex Southdown converted into a mobile showroom. Great fun.
Who owns the Bristol LH i saw in chester today ?
What a stunning vehicle,I learned to drive and passed my test in one.
We have a new video out tonight which features the run on Sunday, all will be explained there...
Never understood why those ear lights were removed from buses in place of those smaller ones?.
Hi one question I was always taught never to paint brake drums because the paint doesn't allow heat to dissipate just sayin' love your vids
Its a good point, but the drums are so thick so small layer of paint won't make much difference.
Why even paint them at all?
Hi gang I have a question ⁉️ the open top bus you have how do you keep top deck dry when it rains is it all weather proof flooring and is the rains holes at at the sides or front thanks Kev 🤔
Great job guys, I assume they are not the original wheels?
The split rims are the original wheels.
Do you have and will you be fitting rear wheel embellishers? (I've just started to watch the video). When I was a kid (mid 1950s) I noticed that instead of leaving the raised embellisher rings unpainted, LT started to paint them the same colour as the wheel itself which I felt was a retrograde step. I notice that you have embellishers on some of your buses. Perhaps I'm getting muddled up with RTs.
I prefer them without. I like the look of the wheel well with the hubs in the middle.
Why were the two chocolate boxes on the indicator wiring?
Hi Mark, they would have been fitted to make it easier to change the indicator ears. As far as I know they were fitted here on all Routemasters.
What is the paint that you use?
When are you going to have 2022 videos?
Won't be long...
430th like and being into buses me self and owning a few routemasters models for heritage use with me model bus fleet watching wheel related thing on a classic routemasters since i do not class the new ones as routemasters due to little resemblance and slightly disliking them more then a classic /iconic routemasters im definatly gonna recommend your channel on me twitter and on other social media platforms i use alot
Hi Harry, glad you like the videos and thanks for sharing our channel across your social media platforms.
@@Routemaster4Hire your welcome purely did it as your channel deserves more then the amount you have and i do keanly like the iconic routemasters
I really would advise using a proper mask at the very least when using the 2K aerosol as it contains cyanoacrylates which can cause nerve damage among other rather nasty things. Not recommended to breathe in the fumes!!
I read about isocyanates when shopping for a painter's respirator. I couldn't find any rated for them. Must need to go to a specialised automotive paint outlet.
Someone please tell me that these buses are still used for tour companies? And I mean actual tour companies. Even tho they discontinued the heritage routes I’d like to think some places are still keeping this London icon alive?? 🙄😠
Hi Kelvin, that's exactly what we do - our buses are available for private hire and we also do our own sightseeing tour with the open topper.
Two pack paint needs a mask at the very least. Better still proper extraction/ forced air supply. It’s dangerous stuff ffs
Mate wear a mask painting with 2 pack you guys are mad not to
There's a distinct lack of On the Buses references on this channel, which is disconcerting.
On the Buses weren't London Transport RTs or RMs, they were a fictitious independent using Bristols.
Loved the skid pan scene in the movie though, using an RM.
@@jamesfrench7299What other popular cultural reference is there for Buses.
The honeymooners!!
Not very popular or cultural among the British.
@@terrortorn of course. You did ask! But ok I see what you mean by possible potential by this channel to reference the show. It would be fun.
Mostly enjoy your video's. For me, however, the noisey music played while fast forwarding, I find very annoying.
