Dont mind things in black & white if it was shot in black & white. Unfortunately some people shoot it colour and then show in B&W "to add authenticity" A very false argument. E.L.R. during Diesel events 1990-1991? Not really vintage footage then. Enjoyed the video but dislike falsity.
When I was a teenager at 4-20pm every day as I waited at the bus stop going home from school a Hymek would whizz past on a Portsmouth & Southsea to Cardiff train. Just one big 1700 hp engine.
Why have I only just come across this?? I'm chuffed, or should that be clagged to bits with this black and white treasure. So many different classes but especially good to see Hymeks and Westerns, although not the ugly Class 42!!!
What an amazing video, love the sepia effects 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍👍👍
Class 52's was one of the best classes
I loved it, vintage diesels in vintage liveries. I can't help it, I think the original liveries were by far the best.
Looks great 'vintaged up' and better than in colour. Excellent. Asnis the Hymek doing 60!!!👍🏻
First time I've seen this footage...brilliant !!
Nice to see a Hymek at work, I remember in the 1960's they were the Western's work-horses, especially on the Oxford trains.
Brilliant footage, thank you so much for posting. Mr T Hanson driving the ever wonderful 7076.
Loving the western at 3:18 no horrid yellow warning panels! Marvellous!
what a lovely production!
Some great Diesel-Hydraulic action!!!!!!
You cannot beat a Hymek! -love em...

Hymeks !! Brilliant!
Sorry, no speed changes in the film here. I can't explain why it looks so fast.
The ELR drivers regularly drove at up to 60mph. Doesn't happen now unfortunately.
Is that some form of kinescope? Otherwise it must be the first version of handheld videotape. And in b&w. Great stuff.
marvin watkins This isn't old footage
Oh aye, up t’Rawtenstall for an ale.
At $:16, is that the former English fast bowler Bob Willis working his second job on the railways - I think we should be told.......
It's Bury Bolton Street
What is Bob Willis doing on that station at04.06?
Looking for his ball and bat.
Very good 👏
which station was that at the begginging of the film?
Nice bit of clickbait! Thought it might actually be archive stuff! Good though.
