Never seen this before, like the way the combat is sort of turn based mixed with fighting game or something almost :o It's much more sort of dramatic than most turn based games!

i never got Brahm. I used to dream this dream team but i didnt have so i replaced him with Angrim. I managed to win it with guts auto item strategy too, but i remember i took more than 10 rounds. this video brings back memories

Yet somehow the hardest enemy in the dungeon and the game by far is a bunch of hamsters. This game is so unique in its system and even in terms of character development. Wish a new installment would come out that is in 2D and not a tactics game like the one on the DS.
But the other boss is quite difficult without a great gear, and character especially the boss in the beginning quite challenging without them

This game is ahead of its time. I'm kinda mad that in that era, everyone is praising FF7 as the best RPG in PSone. FF7 even isnt the best FF in PSone lol (its FF IX). Enix games like Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile are solid RPG. Include Tales of Destiny and maybe even Lunar 1 and 2. Those title is better than FF7
Yeah ff7 in psone kinda overrated, there are so many best game in ps1 but only a few people discover it

It annoys me so much that you use the magic finisher first, and you don't use all the 4 finishing strikes in same turn.
You are supposed to use them in the same turn so you stack damage multiplier for them.
I remember killing her in just 3 waves of linked Finishing strikes
I can only link 3 finishing strike, at the end of the finishing strike there is no button press, i think i get the wrong order or something
@@NerdOnGaming you need to get the gauge to 100 with every finishing strike, so you useFreya first or last cuz she doesn't hit much.
Brahm hits so much so he should be before last cuz with each new finisher the gauge is harder to fill.

That team is absolutely terrible for comboing... Freya is a bad unit and the fact that you can only use her in the Seraphic gate is proof of that. This fight should end in at least 4 turns less if you can combo all 4 characters attacks and all 4 PWS. Valkyrie (bow), a mage, Arngrim and Lucian were the ones who did it for me. High hit count from Lucian had me using PWS every other turn to finish her off fast.

@@NerdOnGaming if you wanna get all the items in Seraphic gate you have to beat her 10 times, it's enough for you to master combos. You can also practice your combos in.the party menu. Combos are important cuz every hit adds 1% damage to the next hit, so if you do 10 hits the 11th will cause 110% damage. Also the order of PWS is important as some will not boost the bar enough to continue the combo. Valkyrie with a bow will recover the bar enough for the next PWS whether she goes first, second or third, but some units will not recover past the first, Freya not even if she goes first, she needs to go last.
I'd try Brahms, Lezard, Valkyrie (bow) and Freya in your team
Well, my one gripe is the need to put Hard in the title. You can't get to Iseria without the game being on Hard so it's kinda redundant. Beyond that, I was VERY upset when I found out the new game ditched the battle system for a more action oriented style.
Soon old school RPGs and their fans are going to be like gamers in the 80s and 90s before it suddenly became popular to be one.
Haha it's the template for all video, just to make sure that i played this game on hard mode, yeah for some reason i love the old games rather than the new one
Incorrect. Normal and Easy Mode allows access to the Seraphic Gate and the final boss. You just cannot use Brahms, Freya or Lezard as characters and cannot get all the weapons. Still beatable in Normal mode, haven't tried it in Easy Mode though.
@@GregoryWeagle Really? I could swear Iseria was locked behind one of the gates you needed an orb from hard mode to open.

With all the bootleg versions out its hard to tell if people cheat or not anymore

@@jfiffl7 Guts is more important. Angel Curio is better; but there are better accessories to equip here. Without Guts, you die here in a party wipe. Cosmic Spear kills you if it connects (and even with Guts, there is an 8% chance of a total party wipe), unless you have 90% Dark resistance. Extension Force kills you in two hits unless you have 90% Fire resistance, which is impossible in the first fight, since Tri-Emblem is needed for that resistance. Also Cosmic Spear is turn based, so you cannot get Iseria down to 1.4 million DME or less and expect it to be nullified due to transformation and eat the one-hit kill single target move it does.
I beat Iseria in Normal mode without Grand Magic by the way.
