Thank you so much for hosting the team! It was wonderful meeting and playing you at LA.
Hi Ian, just wondering how you would play the shadow calyrex matchup. Thanks for creating this team, I've been having a blast with it :), just having some trouble with calyrex shadow, even with sable eye screens they always seem to sweep thru me
@@Gabe-cp9mswide guard and trick room seem like your best options with this team
@@dandan4092 thanks will give it a try! :)
How did the set go?
@@gerradwalker346Quick and unwell.
I still think Lugia is a water/flying type sometimes, after all these years,it still doesn't make any sense why it is a psychic type
Would also make sense with pretty much every Pokémon that has multiscale also having a 4x weakness, but yeah Lugia got hurt by Psychic being a hype typing back then >.>
@@NinjaSyao It's exactly that. Initially Lugia was created just for its movie, only later that it was made into the box Pokemon for the Silver version, so the devs just added on Psychic in it because it was viewed as a very strong type back then (it still kind is viewed that way sometimes by the devs, given their willingness to put so many recent groups of Pokemon that are supposed to be strong in lore with Psychic + another type, like the cover legends of Alola, Calyrex and also the paradox Swords of Justice). But they also recognize Lugia's ties to Water, so much so that the Lugia that is catchable in Scarlet/Violet DLC is the only legendary that has a tera type that is not the same as one of its original types, being Water instead of Flying or Psychic.
Groudon has Tera Fire when you catch it in Sc/Vi @@tezminator
@@simonmercuri3073 I only have my Violet copy, which naturally has Kyogre, and I'm not finished with the group bbq's, so I didn't have the chance to catch Groudon yet so I didn't know it. But it's cool either way because Groudon indeed is extremely related to Fire, so much so that its primal form already does have the additional secondary Fire typing, which now got me wondering if Lugia eventually got a canon new form (excluding Shadow Lugia) would it also gain a secondary Water typing.
@@tezminator maybe! It'd be cool to see more different forms of more legendaries
Just found your channel subscribed. Your knowledge is top tier sir
What system is he using to show the EV and IV spreads of each mon? Watching VGC I’ve always wondered what spreads everyone is using.

For how much time a rental code usually works?
As long as the person hosting it decides
@@MayVeryWellBeep Why would someone disable it, if it's good? We have a limit of how much rental codes we can host, is that it?
@@zashinunes8191Yes
@@zashinunes8191 yeah!
Does burn half damage from body press still?
I was wondering that too
No it uses Def for the dmg calc
Yes, it's half damage on all physical attacks, it doesn't touch the stat.
Haha we got a yes AND a no
Yes, it just halves any physical damage output even though the damage is based off defense
Is Rillaboom called "Mojo" because of The Simpsons? :D Pray for Mojo
It's from Powerpuff Girls numbnuts
I still wanna know what justifies running lugia over terapagos.
Mmmmh first of all i would say that even after Terra U can get the Multiscale Back when at full health.
Different typing → different weaknesses
Oh and Lugia Had Options for healing it self. Roost / recovery
You have always multi scale even with tera, easy to play around Wide Guard, more bulky, more crits, stab on Aeroblast (some people say Terapagos don't have stab on his move, not sure about that)
etc, etc, and I think it's always cool using a Pokémon not that common
@@zashinunes8191 terastal form Terapagos (regular switch-in form) does have stab on Tera Starstorm as both are Normal type, but Stellar form Terapagos does not have stab on Tera Starstorm. This is probably because the move becomes Stellar type when terastalized, but there is no natural Stellar type, so it gets the 20% bonus that all pokemon get to their attacks when Stellar terastalized instead of the 2x bonus from tera + stab (Plus, it becomed a spread move when terastalized so it actually does less damage to an individual pokemon when terastalized)
@@tezminator Good to know, so basically, this also means when it Stella Tera, he only haves the 20% boost only one time like others Pokémon? Is that it? I still don't understand this very well
Lugia’s shoulders make me uncomfortable
😭
Overhead press Lugia is the new meta
what’s wrong with them, probably too much like a man’s shoulders?
@@matthayes976Yeah, the Gen 9 model has the shoulders much more pronounced than the previous gen models
When you’re able blow apart houses with a light movement of your wings it makes sense for your shoulders to be absolutely BUILT
Losing the game 3 for a 0.2% sucks. Or, if anything, getting the guaranteed loss for that - it might've been that a bad positioning or a good one from them could've lost the game anyways.
It took me multiple times hearing it to realize you were trying to say "floral healing".
Lugia does negative damage 😂
That is a hack lugia
How do you know that? :o
A genned lugia i see
It has a 31 IV in attack, sure LOL, odd I passed the hack check too...
You couldve gotten shiny lugia from Pogo pretty easy lol
