To the guy who said he wants to play support but thinks playing carry is better to climb mmr. This is like, very wrong. Especially in today's dota 2. The supports have so much impact, they get kills they get farmed they get fat. When dota 2 first came out, playing support you'd be lucky to have a stick, boots and one item by about 30mins average. These days, the supports can get really big and can carry in their own way, depending on the persons play style and the hero selection. What I'm saying is, if your a good enough support you will win more games than you lose over a period of time, supports have massive impact these days especially in the early game. They can carry a game.
Dota does manipulate ranked matchmaking. I have played with crusaders 4 that went heart of tarrasque in an Antimage. I have played with guardian 4 who are really good. Ranks in dots are a little broken. When I qualified, I had a friend who played with me, he is a bot, the man follows the item guides like a bible, that should tell he is not great, yet he landed crusader 3 and I landed crusader 1. I was carrying him from pos 1 by the way. So yeah, ranked is a little bit manipulated. And I honestly don’t believe you can solo climb, you either with a good duo or trio, otherwise dota itself will not let you climb.

Since the change with the avoid list for immortals it's not worth it anymore in my opinion ^^
