I removed the 4x6 speakers out of my 86 iroc Z as well as the mounting brackets and installed 6.5 kicker KS speakers. I made the hole and top mounted the speakers and used the kicker grills to make it looks nice. The sound is so much brighter, louder and cleaner.
Looks good....Can't wait for the sub install!!!
Thank you and ya the subs really surprised me. I'll have that video posted soon.
Sounds real clean and good
Thank you
Excellent job Tony, thanks for the video. I have heard to keep the rca wires and speaker wires separate to eliminate any "Amp buzz" but I don't know for sure. Thanks for all the details. ✌️
Yes indeed they recommend 12 to 16 inches. Easy for me since my battery cables come from the back and rca from the front. I discuss that in my sibwoofer install video as well. Thank you 👍
when i got my 91 the only one plugged in was the driver dash because the others made noise upgraded to some Walmart specials they don't cut it though im glad you made this video i was looking at them all separate and you made one for theses cars helps a lot
Very nice. Glad you found it very helpful. Thank you for watching
I have skar fsx 6.5s with cheap tweeters in 2 cars. One is otherwise stock and the other one has a kicker key dsp amp. Both sound great for the price
Very nice. Glad to hear it
when testing voltage to the rear speakers is 15-16vdc good im no stereo guy but want to make sure its the speakers ans not the steroe as the reson my rear speakers arent working. I have a 1986 Z28
Is it better to wire front speakers at a lower ohm setup than the rear? Generally speaking so they would be louder.
Question to you Tony: at 13:37 it looks like a lot of room behind the instrument cluster, is it possible to reach down there and un-clip the speedo cable? The fumble blind with a long screwdriver aren't really appealing to me to try out.
Hey, bro, did you make your own wiring harness for your speakers or did you use the factory
Since I am running all of my speakers on an amplifier, I ran all new wiring
Do you know if the dash speakers would fit without having to modify a stock dash?
I don't think so unless possibly cutting some of the material out of the bottom of the dash cover but even then I'm not sure
So. I see your car is a manual. Is that a stock engine/trans setup?
I have 4 midranges and 2 10 inch subs in my 91 camaro and they draw too much volts is there anything I can do to fix it I’m still using a stock battery
Having a new battery would help but really I would check into an upgraded alternator and making sure wires are appropriate size.
