I'm still in high school and beat air forces are popular here, and I wear fresh af1 or my Jordan 11's and I'm dripping
In the early 90's one of my favorites were the fila hightops with the Velcro straps that you would hang off the back. I forget the model name. But my absolute favorite from that time period were jordan 4's. Shelltoe adidas / superstars, air max, timbs , Cortez. Reebok classic nylons were in heavy rotation too. Both those and the
filas were mad affordable and came in any color you could want . we were rocking new balance back then too..cats act like new balance are new to the culture - "You wanna diss the Phifer but you still don't know the half/
I sport New Balance sneakers to avoid a narrow path" - Phife , tribe called quest , "buggin out "

Welty’s rant about sizing is my #1 gripe with sneaker companies. Nothing worse than buying your 100th pair from the same brand only to find out that they don’t fit.
so i bought a size 9 gazelle on accident and am normally an 8.5 and man those 9s fit pretty well.
I talked to my niece she is in 8th grade, I turned her into a sneakerhead, I got her the dunk low Homer Dunks. She told me that most people on first day of school showed up in Panda Dunks lows and highs. She said she was happy she was wearing a pair of shoes no one was wearing and told me never to buy her panda dunks😂

I’ve been skating 20plus years and I enjoy when Welty and dunne talk skateboarding.
My fave thing is when Welty is like 'I want to bring this up" not only coz its usually something funny but JLP usually smirks as well.

On the best back to school topic, there are heaps of really good sale shoes at the moment that will allow students to have a choice of affordable sneakers. If I was going back to school now, I would have to get a pair of the fire red three that are coming out next week.

I bought my first And 1’s in Chicago. It was the tai-chi baby blue and navy colorway. I also was able to buy the low top baby blue tai-chi. I remember the Jordan 16’s first dropped when I bought my and 1’s.
9:15 I’m in the process of doing that! Ultimate goal is to only keep all collab sneakers that are in specific colors. On the shelf, 4 rows, 4 pairs each row. 1st row pure white, 2nd white/black, 3rd white/grey, 4th white/unc blue, 5th white/burgundy. So a total of 16 pairs max.

I work in footwear mainly running shoes and i have to do RTVs so often but finding the last shoe is so annoying.
Being a DC native Wale was a huge influence on the culture. It was so frustrating wanting to cop SB’s but not being able to get them because there were so few skate shops in the DMV area and them being heavily backdoored. It was arguably worse then it is now as far SBs go.

In the early 2000s I was able to walk into emage in Denver and buy the futura SBs. They even put the Heinekens on hold for me.
I loved the And1 basketball tournaments. I won the 3 point contest. Got 3 t-shirts and a basketball.

I work currently at a middle school and honestly the top 3 shoes I see are Nike Blazers, Jordan 1 Mids (they believe mids are retros) and Air Force 1s

Nike run true to size, except AF1 that run a half size big.
Adidas run mostly true to size nowadays (in UK)
New Balance run true to size unless it’s cleats.
My last two pairs of Reebok ran half size big too 🤷♂️

Maybe it's how sizes translate from EU to UK sizing but have always found Adidas run a little smaller than Nike
I think the fashion is so accessible and anyone with the money can just buy whatever to look cool and whatever is hot at the moment. I feel like a lot of people these days don’t care about the stories or history and just want to look good which is corny to me

Note to Welty: just because you CAN drop the weight on a deadlift, doesn’t mean you HAVE TO. Try controlling the weight on the way down as well you only get stronger.

Does anyone else find it odd that yeezy slides are actually labeled wrong? They'll say 10 in US sizing and 10 in UK sizing on the same box. A 10 in UK is supposed to be 11 US. No wonder these things never fit 🤣🤣🤣
