Now after some traveling around the world I find myself really in pain when my people pronounce "ship" like "sheep", but it is what it is. True this is Italy so perhaps more prone to accounting fraud but in most other countries there is strong democratic oversight and accountability on how taxes are spent. Also Italy being part of Euro and in breach of fiscal compact means even greater scrutiny on spending. The figure looks legitimate to me compared to other such vessels like Juan Carlos LHD or Mistral LHD.

    A smaller in effect LHD but really a carrier for all intents and purposes. Give me this over the giant QE class any day. The QE class are just giant sub targets [especially vls options], they have minimal defensive abilities when benchmarked against the US Nimitz/Ford classes, and also the French carrier. The Spanish get far more bang here, they operate a very slightly lower number of F35s, and can carry marines. The UK's manic need for 'optics' and rule Britannia memories have seen 2 giant ships that are not nuclear powered, also minimising their effectiveness, the appalling government stuffing around combined with the Treasury bean counters, a weak First Sea Lord/Admiralty who've been both unwilling and unable to stand up for what is a disgracefully run down RN, against the RAF and Army has seen the once mighty RN beg borrow and steal.
    They cannot still achieve their staffing/crewing targets for both carriers, and given 1 is always in dry dock n various degrees of work only 1 will be operational. The absurd decision not to go with a flat deck was a debacle. In the end it cost more 'not' to adopt the US' design. The time and money wasted is criminal. But now they're build putting them into harms way will stretch the RN like never before. Disbanding an entire air arm even with US training cannot be overcome in a short time even when the carriers are certified FOC.
    The Spanish and Italians in my personal view do it so much better. France has a kick arse navy and due to it's colonial imprint still especially in Africa France is the major power the US looks to for assistance with terrorism operations in theatre, the French expeditionary forces, and their special operation forces are first class, have real, genuine modern kit, and like the USMC Expeditionary Force the French can deploy quickly.
    That the Royal Marines were even 'considered' as a budget cut/disbanding is another example of Whitehall's total disrespect for the armed forces. It is a disgrace what the young men and women of the UK's armed forces and navy haver been put through.
    Sure the Type 26 continuos build cycle with RAN and Canada, and maybe NZ participating has finally given BAE/UK and the RN an excellent chance to really have some certainty, and room for solidifying what is a badly broken service. Once again the Spanish and Italians opt for slightly smaller ships, but the end product is a force projection capability that is arguably far more flexible and does not put all their eggs in a giant 2 [1 really FOC] giant carrier.

      A point of view that people can or cannot agree with, just one correction, this is an Italian built LHD for the Italian navy, Spain doesn’t and won’t operate F-35B (until January 2020 there was no information about a possible F-35 deal between Spain and the US)

      Questa e una tua opinione , basata su obbiettivi a cui l.Italia non e interessata . Assurdo fare portaerei per megalomania ..l.Italia vanta ottime navi , inoltre connl arrivo delle nuove ppa che sono paragonabili a una fregata ( specie nella versione full ) così continua a rinforzare come potenza regionale . Le portaerei costano cifre impressionanti , la Francia possiede una carobar nucleare che però essendo una e anche vecchiotta spesso ha necessità di lunghi Stop . L F 35 seppur caro non e ' il peggior caccia anzi . Inoltre ti ricordo che per via della seconda guerra mondiale non possiamo avere vere e proprie portaerei . In ogni caso c e ben poco da fare ci sono solo due paesi in questo momento capaci di avere portaerei sempre proiettabili e sono gli Usa e la Cina che ne sta costruendo ancora tre oltre alle quattro di cui tre già finite .

      Ok grazie comunque. Avrei anche un altra domanda: a quanto ho capito oggi le navi da guerra hanno a disposizione generalmente 8 missili anti nave, ma considerando tutte le contromisure e armamenti anti missile e antiaerei, di cui dispongono le navi, non sono un po' pochi? E in caso in cui tra due squadre navali che si affrontano(senza aerei da entrambe le parti, ma solo navi come cacciatorpediniere,fregate e simili), entrambe finiscono glj anyinave, si avvicinano per attaccare con i cannoni o/e siluri, o si possono usare anche i missili antiaerei per attaccare le navi in caso di necessita'?

    • @DailyBattlefields
      @DailyBattlefields  Před 5 lety +2

      Al 100% non so darti una risposta, perché nessuno dei moderni missili anti nave è stato usato in contesti reali di guerra (che è molto diverso rispetto ai test effettuati durante la creazione di un sistema d’arma)
      Io sono un po’ dell’opinione contraria, cioè ci sono troppe poche armi difensive per proteggere le navi dai missili, perché jammer chaff e flare non sempre funzionano sopratutto su missili moderni come i nuovi Marte o Otomat, l’artiglieria difensiva a corto raggio anche sta perdendo le sue capacità in quanto missili moderni molto rapidi, anche una dopo essere stati colpiti, ritengono molta forza cinetica, quindi i detriti rimasti, potrebbero comunque colpire e affondare/danneggiare di molto la nave, sopratutto se si parla di missili hypersonici come il Kinzhal russo.
      Per quanto riguarda le seconda domanda, dipende, se entrambe le flotte sono sicure al 100% che l’avversario ha finito gli anti-nave, potrebbero rischiare di avvicinarsi e fare a cannonate o addirittura ad usare i siluri.
      Però nel caso più realistico, una volta che una ipotetica flotta italiana abbia finito tutti gli Otomat e tutti i Milas, probabilmente rientrerebbe alla base per rifornirsi o chiederebbe appoggio ad una flotta alleate se disponibile.
      Come si è visto nella seconda guerra mondiale, il popolo italiano è molto sensibile alla perdita di assetti della marina, sopratutto se di superficie, quindi credo difficile che si andrebbe a fare a cannonate.

      @quattrosaltiinpadellaconbu7143 Před 5 lety +3

      Grazie mille per la risposta ;), e per quanto riguarda i missili antiaerei, in uno scenario di scarsita' di antinave e' possibile convertirli in antinave?

    • @DailyBattlefields
      @DailyBattlefields  Před 5 lety +3

      Ohhh si scusa, mi ero dimenticato di quella parte della domanda, alcuni missili si, non tutti, però la loro capacità è molto minore, devi calcolare che i missili anti nave volano al pelo dell’acqua, quindi sono molto difficili da colpire, mentre quelli di tipo antiaerei avranno sempre una traiettoria più simile ad una parabolica per colpire un bersaglio in mare, quindi tenderanno ad essere intercettati più facilmente
      Spesso e volentieri però i missili anti aerei che ne sono capaci non sono segnati come tali, quindi non saprei darti una lista dei modelli
