Considering the current affairs of the unipolar world it would have been much wiser to have settled the issue with USSR coming to warm water politically. It could have been only done by the great Mr Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Unfortunately by design the politics of Pakistan was disrupted in 70's just to remove Mr Bhutto so that the trap would be laid down for the USSR and at large for Asia & South Asia in particular to make a unipolar world. What has been left after the fall of USSR is chaos in our continent Asia. American state weakened our region, designed wars for our region and then sold her weapons to us and sucked our regions economy. American State comprises of Mafias. Our region and at large our world has been put into a chaotic situation by this evil American state. All the states in continent Asia must untie themselves on 1 platform and should make effort to put there differences behind and should work together for a prosperous Asian region which will eventually have a positive impact on the rest of the world.

Today, China is a friend of Pakistan - only for it's own interests. Tomorrow they might not see value in this relationship. Get the facts straight mate, in 1973 some Afghan extremists opposing Afghan government, namely Maulavi Khalis and Rabbani went into exile to Pakistan, During Zulifiqar Ali Bhutto, there a jamat of islami, an islamic organisation was formed for them, given weapons and intelligence, sent back to Afghanistan to fight, this tactics made momentum, the reason for Pakistan doing this as Afghans don't recognise territory taken by British and gifted it to Pakistan after partition. So Afghanistan asked USSR for help and they invaded inass forced in 1979 which prompted an outcry in the west.

The Soviets assassinated the Afghan President who invited them which led to most commie Afghans to mistrust the Soviets. The invited intervention turned into an occupation because Afghanistan de facto lost its sovereignty.

Reason we went against Soviet Union, because of Soviet involvement in East Pakistan separation. Plus USA want revenge from Soviets of Vietnam war. After 1990 and after 2012, gradually our way r different sadly. Even though we don't want completely breakdown between USA and Pakistan relationship if USA make balance between Pakistan and India. Make balance in military power. Otherwise I fear might Pakistan, China, and Russia make new alliance, if USA continue present policy.
