- Very few motorcycles have had such an impact in India as the Yamaha FZ-S.
It had the perfect ingredients to catch our attention - a sporty stance inspired by the litre-class FZ1, beefy forks, a muscular fuel tank and of course, that fat 140 section rear tyre.
Over the years, the streetfighter has become the default choice for those looking for a sporty yet efficient commuter bike.
But times have changed, and you now have several more options. So the FZ-S FI Version 3.0 now gets bolder styling, LED headlamp, bigger LCD instrument console and a single-channel ABS. The docile 13.2PS BlueCore engine has been left untouched, just like its cycle parts.
But these updates come at a cost, the FZ-S FI V3 is now Rs 13,000 more expensive. So, can the Yamaha FZ-S FI V3 still hold its own in the face of cut-throat competition from the Gixxer, Hornet, Apache RTR 160 4V, Pulsar NS160 and so on?

I crashed my new FZS v3 with a car today around 40kmph speed, and the bike didn't even receive a scratch! The crash guard caused a huge dent on the door of the car, but it was still not bent and strong! The bike didn't fall after the crash, it was still stable and handled like a boss. Amazing build quality, saved my life. Yes Yamaha!

i own this bike. this bike is a charm. this may have less power and torque on paper. but no one regrets after buying a yamaha motorcycle like fzs. fz is love.
I also own this bike. No riding comfort. very bad choice at this price range. I regret every bit of it.

I too own the V3 Matt blue. What a built, what a balanced and none the less what a stability.
I met with an accident, it was my fault, I overtook a Swift from left side and it was about to take a left turn, we were at 46kmph it hit me straight away on the right side, I was about to fall but man o man the bike balanced me. I turned around and found few parts fallen on the road, my heart broke but I was surprised to see that the driver of the car started picking those parts and telling they were his car's parts. My God...... Nothing happened just some minor scratches in the silencer muffler. Its great, superb....
my FZ is 10 years old.. when I stop in traffic signal.. hornet, apache, ns rider see my bike closely..they know how Yamaha make this legend.
That is the kind of impact the FZ has made on all our lives :)
@Cool saga absolutely agree with you.. oldest FZ 16 is a global model..I bought FZ when Pulsar dominating Indian market..9 out of 10 bike is Pulsar..my friends trolled me "kaya plastic kharid ke laya hai" now they realize the quality is quality.

I remember when fz came in 2008 it was something else from all other bikes, especially very popular pulsar.I was and still am fan of pulsar but when fz, fazer and r15 launched in 2008 it was like start of new era of indian bikes.

The Apache existed even before FZ came!!! And yes, it may have been the one to popularize the looks of others and heated up the segment... But honestly, that never justifies the extra money they are asking for!

I'm riding it and I'm enjoying it, doesn't matter of bhp and all. One of the best bike, I'm loving it.
The FZ16 V1 has aged so gracefully that it still looks sexier among the newer versions. Everything about its design seems to be proportionate and perfect from every angle whatsoever. A true street bike for sure. I am very much glad to own this for the last 10 years and counting.

When you are riding other bikes you ride them but when you ride fzs the bike rides with you it's like a magic you can feel a comfort and connection with your bike this bike is just a charm and i love my fz 😍
The bike is a monster and u know what U have presented abt that in a monstrous way..How good was the demonstration.. Tht no drum dialogue and "Fz is the reason why all these bikes still exists" dialogues are thumping my heart as a owner of this bike..When I hear the word, Yamaha is the master in motorcycling I get goosebumps, Coz I'm also a owner of this Masterpiece FZ-s V3..
I am using fz16 v1 for more than 5 years 60000 kms ...the way i have ridden and abused no other bike would have been standing to date...and yeah she will save your life many times...most reliable and refined...Yes Yamaha...

This was my dream bike and I owns FZ3 V.3 dark night with Bluetooth variant. What a bike in terms of looks and handling.
Yesterday i saw PD,s notification of the fzs-fi v 3.0 review but i didnt get time to check it out. And yesterday night i had a dream about varun reviewing this and saying its got 27hp and 30nm of torque.. I wish it was a reality😇

At the time of buying i was in love with fz but never thought people will stop to ask which bike is this & the crazy memory uttar Pradesh police acp & team stop me once to check out my bike & acp sir was not believing its 150cc & mind you I've the stock looks the base fz black no chrome version but nothing required to be added ....i just again fall in love when its pocket friendly too 😅

The only channel where I came across with comment-" chrome ducts are tacky!" Yes they are tacky in FZ S v3. 0, the FZ v3.0 looks far better with black ducts.

I still have the 2009 FZ-16 with me and this bike just doesn't feel like an Upgrade. Varun puts it pretty aptly, this has become a Power Commuter. And the benchmark that was set by the Original bike has been overtaken by its competition. As the owner of the original FZ16, i would have loed to see this one get a 6 gears and a Slipper Clutch. But all that has been put in MT15 and its way off in pricing.
Mulgund was too good with all those Facts and well presented them. Loved that aspect.

Just waiting for the king of the segment to be back, the new gixxer 155 , I know it will be way better than the existing fz as I still think the existing gixxer is still better than this fz crap and will give a tough fight to the rtr 160v
exactly in which terms u pointing out gixxer is far better than yamaha FZ..coz i am gng to book 150cc bike ..i love to travel for long ride ..i hate vibrations ..mostly i will be ride at the speed of 65 to 90 so ..so for my style gixxer is good to handle ..mainly i hate vibrations ..no matter wat mileage will be ..so plz assist me
@@mahikanna1241 bro I would say wait for 1-2 months because Suzuki are launching the new gixxer and I bet it will be far better than the current model , and the basis on which i say the gixxer is a better bet is mainly due to engine refinement and the handling characteristics of that bike , the engine in this does not feels strained and can easily cruise at speed of 95 to 100 kmph all day long which the fz cant

Could have been more detailed. i know it doesn't have much changes to discuss but I personally liked the sleek and chiselled look of outgoing model. The tank feels like pumped with air for no reason. Need to know if rear brakes have the bite or they too are bland like fz25.
