    No More Heroes is one of those Video games that actually feels like a Video game.

      @TheTomorrowProject Před 3 lety +44

      I know what you mean. Wii actually had a lot of those--this, Ghost Squad, Red Steel 2, Mad World, Sin & Punishment, and many others. I feel like most major developers nowadays take realism as a priority over everything else, when that was never the point for video game fans. Sure, it can be cool in certain types of games, but it seems like it's just Nintendo, Platinum and a couple others and indies that keep that "gameplay first" mentality going. Shame.

      @@TheTomorrowProject meh some games definitely benefit from that focus sometimes but it’s all subjective in the end. Honestly I think that there are more good games getting released over the last few years than most any other years. Whether you want bombastic action like DMC and Doom, melancholic feels like Last of Us and Nier, or something in between like Yakuza or No More Heroes, we’ve been getting some grade A+ stuff these last few years

    These games are absolute pure genius. Easily classics of their time that completely hold up in the passage of time. The stakes are quite high for the third title and I can only hope SUDA 51 doesn't hold back and totally blows away all we've known. Travis should've been a full character in Smash as opposed to metely a costume for the mii fighter as he's easily a part of gaming history and a high water moment in gaming on Nintendo's consoles.

    In the first No More Heroes, you only need to play the minigames once: enough to earn a silver medal, which unlocks the level's assassination missions, which are much more lucrative. Mission #18 is the winner for the most money you can get in the shortest amount of time. And in the sequel, it sounds simple, but leave the motel after every mission. I played through both games back to back over the past week (having previously played them both on Wii 10+ years ago) and enjoyed them even more this time. I think 1 is still my favorite of the two, but I enjoyed 2 a lot more this time than the first time I played it. And apart from some minigames being frustrating (I literally could not make any progress on the last level of strength training), I found 2 to be SIGNIFICANTLY easier than 1. I was actually shocked because I remember having a LOT of trouble with the final boss of 2 in my Wii playthrough, but this time I only died once and that was because I forgot he could knock you out of the window if you were too close to it.
    I am waiting for a copy of Travis Strikes Again to arrive, but in the meantime I am restarting the first game on Bitter (which so far at least has been pretty easy since all progress/upgrades carry over, but I expect will still have some tough fights).

    Iv finished both and ill say this on the tech difference most people miss:
    The original wii versions are built around the 30fps. The remastered versions move too fast in some degree, thus sometimes dodges won't work and combat is missing some hitboxes. It was most annoying in the final boss and later bosses. They are also missing a few songs and some graphics are missing. Other than that, its a damn good port. Maybe a patch will fix the issues later.

    The issues I found with the port of NHM 1 are
    The opening cutscene's audio doesn't sync up properly. The video is a bit behind. You can tell with the boss countdown
    Some audio has some crackling. Like the selecting a save file, thunder ryu saying "I know, you want that", and some wrestling tapes just to name a few
    The batting mini game is terrible with both control schemes. You either sacrifice reliable inputs, or power. Without motion controls, the ball usually hits 1 or 3 guys
    No button remapping. Yes, you can use the system button remapping, but it's honestly preferable to have in built in the game itself. Just so I don't have to go into the settings for every game
    I do kinda wish the loading screen logo didn't lag
    But it's overall a great port, but it still needs some ironing. I already emailed engine software about it. They said that they are taking note of every issue. Whether or not there is a patch is the teams choice
