    Just bought a BG 2.0 TS a few days ago. Fun gun. Shoots nicely. I'm going to love it. Only have a couple hundred rounds through it at this point. So far just a 100 or so rounds of Blazer 95 gr FMJ and 20 Hornaday Hydra Shok. I suppose not really enough of either to really address feed reliability BUT I had no feed problems thus far. I've had a Shield Plus for over a year and have been quite happy with it but, for me, I did not carry it much because it is still too big for my body and my clothes. I rarely felt comfortable carrying it much of the time because of printing. That's why I bought the BG 2.0. I do love the size. I have a sticky SM2 and the BG 2.0 fits very unobtrusively into my blue jean pants. I am much more comfortable carrying it most of the time.
    I've had had two minor issues that I have been able to remedy. As many people have said, the gun, being new, takes a bit more effort to rack than my shield plus and my thumb safety is much tougher to manipulate than on my Shield Plus. Both issues may resolve with time I think (hope). Issue #1: I have found that with the safety 'on', I was not initially able to lock the slide back because the slide was, I believe, binding a bit on the safety mechanism. I have found that if I put some upward pull on the slide with I pull it back, it will pass over the bump and allow me to lock it back. At my range, someone also showed me that if I have the safety 'off', that I can lock the slide easily (as with my Shield Plus). Issue #2: After loading just 50 or so rounds through the 10 round mag AND the 12 round mag, I found I could not load more than two bullets and even with my my loader device, I could not get past two bullets in either mag. I discovered that the problem in both instances was that the orange followers on the front edges, the down side points of the follower were engaging the first set of round observation holes and hanging up the path of the follower. I disassembled the magazine and rounded the points a bit and back beveled them a bit. I removed a very small amount of material for both. It worked well. No more problems in maxing out the mags to capacity in that regard.

      You are absolutely right, before I took it to the range I had to shift the rear sight over to the right, waiting for companies to make aftermarket sights, it’s a shame that I have to spend more money, but I just don’t like them.

    • @TADDs101
      @TADDs101 Před 7 dny

      @crabjoe it's that way for a reason, the Bodyguard 2.0 is made for up close personal defense .. at that close (20ft-25ft) if you were in a life/death situation, you're not going to be taking time to look down the sights like you do when you're at the range .. you would be point shooting, looking at front sight. Hopefully, none of us are ever put in that situation

    Issues with mine thus far. Racking 12 round into chamber, it doesn't feed into chamber. Gets stuck. Lock slide back. Pull out magazine. Bullet flies out of ejection port across the room. Racking into chamber manually doesn't work with 12 round mag. Have to rack fast and hard with 10 round to avoid this problem. Also dry firing, sometimes trigger pull hits sticky point. Going to copy paste this in other 2.0 videos

    This is a disappointment for two reasons. First is that it looks significantly bigger than the original bodyguard and second, they got rid of the DAO hammer fired design which was great for pocket carry.

    Unfortunately, the original bodyguard filled a niche that this version doesn't. Smith and Wesson now has 4 of the exact same gun in current production: Shield Plus, Equilizer, Shield EZ, and now the Bodyguard 2.0. Utterly boring lineup with not much difference between. Although I will say that I love the Shield Plus, everything else is unnecessary, in my opinion
    EDIT: I made assumptions about the gun that turned out to be dead wrong. Instead of deleting my comment, I want the responses to remain intact, as they made me re-examine the actual merits of the gun.

    • @copper178
      @copper178 Před měsícem +33

      The Bodyguard is LCP Max size, so it’s nowhere near the EZ, Equalizer, and Shield Plus in size. It weighs a little less than 10 ounces, so stop spreading bullshit if you don’t know.

      Not the same gun at all. This gun they designed to compete with the ruger security 380. Equalizer is ass, anything ez is ass too. And the shield plus is a 9mm. They serve different purposes.

      @MrAlexito305 Před měsícem +5
