Fsmash and Dsmash actually have FAFs of 1 frame lower than displayed in this video, at 43 and 38 respectively. This is still pretty ridiculous for their power and range. Thank you to the discord for pointing that out.

Fun to come back and see the comments on videos like this. People just didn't understand the character. Received practically 0 changes and climbed to the top of the tier list. None of the buffs folks asked for were needed.
I will admit the meta was young and I would bump his defense rating to a strong 4 for sure
It's weird that G&W remains quite unpopular in tournament overall, despite how well its top 2 reps are doing.

The one true nerf was removing G&W's windboxes.

It's very limited. Pretty much only 6 through 9 are useful. 3 might be due to the huge shield damage.
If they buff G&W's fair to activate on contact with an opponent, it'll actually be pretty good.
i was saying the same exact thing to a friend saying it would make his tier go up an ENTIRE letter LOL!
I just want it to not disappear when hit. An aerial that you can just hit away seems kind of.... not good.

@@flyingrafts7287 It is a little annoying, but at the same time, without it exploding when hit, it becomes an enormous disjoint that's also an insanely long-lasting move.

#PleaseAnalyze Incineroar, he's been insanely fun for me in Ultimate but I can't help but feel like I'm playing him wrong and a comprehensive analysis of his kit would definitely help me.
Incineroar, contrary to popular belief, is an extremely skillful character that requires a lot of patience. He does a lot of waiting, but once he gets in he gets DAMAGE.

Game and Watch imo is one of ultimate’s biggest success stories for better or worse. Seeing how he went from being considered low to mid tier with a bit of potential at the start of the game’s lifespan to being now top 10 is one hell of an improvement. Even tools thought to be mediocre or outright bad at first are now considered to be phenomenal and at least somewhat useful.
I like your smoother editing and your graphics have improved since I last watched. Quality content my dude.
I dunno about F-Air being bad as people say it is; Maister seems to use the move a lot when he plays, Snickledorf (another G&W player) said he actually feels pretty good about the move now, and Dabuz said it's really solid as well.
Then again, I should probably keep quiet and let the move get buffed further; my main could always use more love X3
It's a very good pressure tool. You can just short hop f-air on the enemy and then just fall back due to the insane air speed.
Lately he's been getting good placements from great players like Esam, Dabuz, Armada etc. I'm so happy.

Zero mainly talks about tournament play. I think Pushblock even mentioned that Lucina is a bad match-up for G&W in his video. He can win but it will be much more a struggle than other match-ups.

He is very interesting, has some very unique aspects, you could fit him into a theme of sorts and do the older more retro characters first with having just done game & watch! Particularly, I really want to know how the reflector on his side b works cause it seems super inconsistent.

Okay as a longtime game and watch player, I would like to make the case that Fair is not a bad move. It is if u try to approach with it, Ive died a lot doing that especially early on. However, when your opponent wants to approach, it can be really annoying and if they try to hit it you can punish that, and if not they have to play around it. Definitely shouldn’t spam it in place, but while retreating, it can give you some breathing room. The other reason its kinda amazing is it works as a combo tool where you put the bomb, then go to where they get knocked back to (which takes a while to get the hang of admittedly and is inconsistent still) then you pretty much can do whatever you want. It’s like a doubles combo. I usually opt for grab if I’m chasing but if I beat them there, up smash is devastating. Fair is certainly far more situational like up tilt, but in the right scenario, I’d say its a better tool than any other option

You’ve done such an amazing job analyzing Game n Watch, very well organized and easy to keep up. Probably one of the best analysis videos I’ve seen. I mained Game n Watch back n Brawl and once Smash 4 he pretty much became washed up and one of my leash played characters. Ultimate really helped him out and he’s much more fun to play as.

#pleaseanalyze Villager, there aren't all that many videos about him, and he's got some interesting moves, like the Lloyd Rocket being so slow that you can place it behind you to punish dashgrabs from fast characters, they simply slide into the projectile and go boom

I’m going to throw in a bid that you do a complete guide for Incineroar next. There is NOT nearly enough information on this character and I watch far too many players in tournament play make poor decisions. A better, more fully developed understanding of this character is necessary for the community to develop. Please make this happen as more conventional fall backs, such as smash boards and kuroganehammer, fail to give newer players a full grasp of this character. I know you have a full plate with school, but I know that you efforts will be appreciated by the Incineroar community.

Very well-structured video, literally covers everything about the character. My only recommendation for the future is to adjust the brightness on your settings inside the game since the screen captured footage was very dark. At times I couldn't even see G&W, like in the clips where you were playing on omega 75m. And while you're at it, also adjust the screen size in the Switch settings so that you don't get the black borders around the gameplay.
This is all assuming that the non-tournament footage was your own footage, if not then nevermind lol

Awesome video! I've been playing G&W casually since Melee but maybe it's time I give 'em a longer look.
Just a quick note in case you didn't notice during the premiere: The left and right side of the verdict bars at 31:45 have some colors/pixels that didn't get erased.
When Zero talks about characters, he speaks of them with the pro scene in mind. Tier lists can mean almost nothing outside of tournament play. That said, good analysis video. Pretty much all the data on G&W in 34 minute package that includes brief explanations on all of it.
I talk about them with competitive play in mind too.
