  • Toroline "What The" hybrid (Wasabi / Toro Toro) x Yonex Vcore 98 Tour
I tried it for a while, also played a tournament with it. I think it will perform at lower tensions and in more control oriented racquets. At the moment K-Pop and Super Toro / Enso Pro strings are my favourite from the Toroline.
    In short:
I am looking for a grinder's weapon of choice. "counterpuncher/baseliner" . Control oriented enough to keep the ball forever in play but responsive enough to consistently apply pressure to opponent.

Try a thinner gauge. Firestorm 1.18 @ 46 becomes super lively with good spin generation

@@jessetaylor6976 im not sure i want something „super-lively”. I am pretty sure i will try 1.25 firestorm :) i love firestorm in general. 1.30 is great too but suits certain racquets better

@@dandan.tennis more power, and bite if that’s what you’re after…it definitely opens the string bed significantly. It’s a stiff string so not a lot of trampoline effect anyway. Only sacrifice is longevity and a little stability, so if you have a string machine, it’s a no brainer for me. Personally I can’t go back to think gauges now…def worth a try!

I'm using Diadem Solstice Power 16L on the main at 24 kg and Wilson Revolve 16 on the cross at 25kg on my VCore 98 Tour. I find I get a lot of control and spin from this setup. Pocketing is good.

Interesting hybrid. I have Solstice Power set still with me so might try it. Have you tried fullbed? Do you use Revolve mainly for the comfort ?

@@dandan.tennis Yeah I had a full bed of Solstice and didn't like it. Too stiff. The Revolve softens it up and, I think, adds pocketing. The Revolve is also slick and got better snap back.. Should mention is it Revolve Spin.

It seems we have similar tastes in Toroline strings. I got almost the same pairing in my Omakase order of Super Toro mains with the green 1.27 Enso pro for crosses instead of the yellow 1.25. I liked it a lot and it made for easy defensive play with the extra power but I did miss some spin of a full bed of Super Toro. I also really like the K-pop strings.
I am probably going to try Wasabi mains with Super Toro crosses at around 48lb next. I think it will offer a bit more control than "What The" but the only way to find out is to try!

I want to try Wasabi / Enso Pro. Its on my list to review as well but i am always behind my schedule. I will drop soon Vcore 100 vs Ezone 100, then probably Percept 97 because someone asked me about it and I value „community” :) i am still in the „missing puzzle” group of racquets with 100D , Whiteout 18x20 and Prestige MP 18x19 waiting for the review :)
