Opposite that barge on the corner me and the old man back in the 1960s were fishing there and the old mans rod just went up and shot into the water like it was fired from a gun. It was mulloway season but getting Kingies there is mind blowing. I had no idea huge Kingies were going there, you did real well landing that I thought you'd break off at that barge.
Wow, I live 5 mins from here and never knew big Kings would be around there. Nice job landing that one, luck was definitely on your side a few times. Not sure I heard any drag, your gear held up great through that ordeal. Damn nice video mate, even years later worth watching again.
That was dock one port adelaide matt d . At the time the clipper ship adelaide was floating in dock one . You can see the kingies swimming around in there in late spring big ones hundreds they rest there. The clippers now in dock 2 . 20 bucks gets you a tour dock one is closed for renos only accessable by sea
Amazing! How did you land that mate!!!! The runs under the boat barge thingy. DEAR GOD!!!! Exceptional effort. All i'm gonna say is Hobie Kayak. Hands free paddling. ;-)
Love it! Nothing more exciting than catching a big fish, especially in a kayak. I was laughing when you were netting him because, I'm thinking, you need a bigger net! Haha. Nice work! I'm sure you put in the time and effort with that one! Can I ask whether you used a lure or bait and if it was bait, was it a livie?
They pull the hardest. I used to dread hooking one when I was a little boy fishing with handlines from my dad's boat. Having one eat the small fish I caught. Horse size ones would come and hang around the boat. It was always five seconds of deeply cut fingers then cut off on the reef.
Top effort mate Litt. Kinda wished you could have done it without all the swearing so I could show my son. I'm a yakka so I know the effort put in .Great work but stop swearing
What a catch! You basically used your kayak as drag haha
Great job! When you're breathing like you're giving childbirth, that's the sign of a serious fish at the end of that line.
