Not made by the same poeple, but i agree that it is made in china in some ways. If you check all of the devices/things that you use on a daily basis, you'll be surprised that most of it are made in china
For anyone wondering about durability: I had a fake one and used it about 4-5 times before the plastic/bristles started to burn. The smell is too awful to use anymore, and the bristles are melted flat and just fall out now.
Finally someone has made the comparaison! I bought the fake one on amazon and I use it all the time since I love it a lot but I kept wondering if the real one was better or not! Now I know!! Thank you very much for this video!
Hi everyone, just a word of warning before you decide which one to get.... I watched a lot of reviews and decided to get the "knock off" and paid £15 for it via ebay ( not because I was on a budget, more because I wasn`t sure if it was the styler for me). Had it for around 4 months and used it possibly twice a week tops. Last night I was using it and 5 minutes in (not continuously blowing). It started sparking badly, from the cord end. shooting across the room approx 4 feet. I quickly switched it off and unplugged it and threw it through the window. Once I had gotten over the shock of it and checked that the sparks hadn`t started to smoulder anything in the room. I went out and checked it. The end where the cable joins was all black and it smelled melted. I am now going to get a Revlon one. As a styler the "knock off" was great. BUT I am never going to purchase anything that isn`t a reputable brand from now on.. You would think that being in my middle 50`s and buying lots of hair stylers over the years I would of known better. Any way I was so LUCKY that only my pride was damaged. Please be careful. xx

It has been working great for her and it’s still working perfectly fine 💕 I continue to use my Revlon brush and I also love it! I think either one would work just fine but I did agree with some of your guys comments and do believe the Revlon side looked shinier but both work very well! The revlon side keeps your hair more wavier by the roots & the fake one smooths it out more.. But.... The revlon side gives you more shine than the fake one. Please keep us posted in the future, if anything changes with the fake one
Lindsay Puello she didn't really leave the heat on her roots long enough before brushing through. She did, a little longer, for the fake one, hence the better result. She also allowed her damp, pinned up hair, to rest on her dry side. As a girl with curly hair, this is a BIG NO NO. I noticed right away.
The difference is, the fake revlon will wear out within a few months. I got that exact knockoff and the bristles literally melted and started making my ends feel terrible! Just ordered the real Revlon brand because my friend said hers is still fine and she's had hers longer than mine and uses it MUCH more often than me

Hey! I’ve been using both. While in the first go, they seem the same - the fake one destroys your hair over time. I think they have unregulated heat which can destroy your hair over time. I’ve used both - the Revlon is much better over a longer period

I agree with him that the overall finish of the fake side was better but I could see the how the Revlon was better for the integrity of your hair because it had an all together different shine that you could see came to the surface with every finished section 😁👍🏽if you agree! They both seem great but for me I’d spend my coins on the Revlon!
I got the “fake” Dryer Volumizer and I didn’t have to use my straightener! I have curly, thick, frizzy, and highlighted hair! Mine did not smell and I used the medium setting! Get this don’t wait!
The only thing I think I like about the Revlon one is that it has a cool setting you said. The fake one doesn't and they say you should use the cool setting when you finish to seal the hair shaft to reduce frizz and breakage. It's better for your hair to do that with any hair dryer when drying your hair. Even diffusing curly hair. If the fake one has a cool setting great I want to save money then! Thanks for this video!
Thank you. I bought the fake one, not realising when I did it was a knock off from Revlon. I was worried before I started using it, if I bought a dud. You have now convinced otherwise, so will use it. i didn't get the hand glove though.
Hi Julissa, I have to add to this. I got the fake one and the revlon too and the fake one broke quite quickly as it burnt out because the cheap materials can’t cope with the power needed to run it. You do get what you pay for as the revlon is made with a better quality material hence why it weighs more. In the sense of time you will probably have to buy 3 fake revlon’s when the real revlon will be going strong. Buying quality will save you money in the long run xxx
Please be so careful with the fake one. I bought that because I didn’t know it was a Revlon version. I was totally satisfied with the results even that I noticed the burned plastic smell. On my second used the dryer shut off (no more than 15 minutes after I started using it). My first thought was maybe overheated. Days after I plugged it back on a power protection tablet, so I turned it on and nothing happened but suddenly fire started coming out from the brush. Thanks God I unplugged so fast and threw it away from the carpet. Honestly I didn’t claim the warranty while I’m not interested to try it again, but I let the company know about the dangerous incident. Please be careful
I e had the fake one for almost a year and it does my hair really well. Even right now with the quarantine when I desperately need a relaxer - it leaves my hair nice. I got it from Amazon too- I’m with you if I’m gonna order a knock off it will be from Amazon.
I bought the one step and it arrived a week ago. I’ve used it a few times already. It works great! It does have a smell to it I’m told it’s because it heats up as per their instructions. Thanks for this review.
I’m in Australia and I purchased this on EBay from the uk and got an adapter so I could use it here. I was surprised at how big it is!! Pros: it did a really good job and it’s quick! Cons: very loud. The actual brush doesn’t over heat at all but I was SWEATING and had my air con on freezing! Pretty good for my first try my hair look nice. Just have to work on getting those flicks/curls on the ends

I actually had bought that very same one thinking it was the Revlon one, it was even more expensive... the bristles fell off and I found that it took forever to dry and yes it the tip got really hot... I have shorter hair so I need to hold the tip to have more control on the hair. I returned it and got the Revlon as soon as it was back in stock. So much better!
I bought a knock off Amazon one and it was $30 for the machine and also came with a brush cleaner, clips, and rubber bands. Hope it works well *Update: y'all, this is a gamechanger. Dried my thick wavy hair right out of the shower I'm about 30 mins. Love it!
The only thing is I wouldn’t consider it a “fake”. There are a lot of unbranded dupes out there for many different items. It would be a fake or knockoff if the Amazon product was labeled Revlon. Awesome comparison video though & I’m happy with the outcome.
I got the fake revlon thinking it was the real one. It's TRUE! The fake one does a good job. You would never know. The first time it smelt like something was burning but soon went away. I did my daughters thick curly in 45 minutes. Thanks Julissa.

I would recommend only because it works for my budget. However, I do believe Julissa did a great demonstration of the two side by side. Best of Luck in your decision.
When you send your plans to a manufacturing company sometimes they then own the rights to that design or they will resell it illegally to another company so multiple companies end up remaking the same product with cosmetic changes to the design or cheaper materials. I actually bought the knock off version because I had no idea the revlon one existed. 😅 Btw I actually liked the fake side better lol.
That company you refer to ripped me off. and I saw your video on there that was how I found you. They took my money and never sent me the dryer. My bank went after them. My daughter ordered the fake one for me from amazon because she felt bad as she referred me to that "site" and I got it yesterday and I LOVE it! Might be due to the lighting, but I feel that the Revlon side is shinier and has a more sleek look!! Just due to the hot top the fake one has, I would pay extra for the Revlon anyway!! It was a great review! I wouldn't want to support people who are deceiving (using people's names and videos), etc to sell their fake product(s) anyway! Brrrrr!
So not that I know what I’m talking about it all, but I’m pretty sure the knock off products are still produced by similar manufacturers, would defs still be a chinese supplier probably, it’s just that the patent probs ran out held by Revlon. Doesn’t mean it’s fake and not going to work, just doesn’t have a name brand on it.

No these companies are dropshipping products through websites like AliExpress. They create their own sites through normally Shopify, list products, jack up the prices, and then buy the products through AliExpress for less than they listed. However, the customer pays the inflated price. Most sellers on AliExpress are okay with dropshipping because it increases their sales.

Thank you so much for the comparison! It is very sad that companies keep stealing videos and pictures from youtubers without their permition. I guess paying influencers and making your own high quality videos is exactly where they spare the cost the brand name ones put on their retail price ;) I bought a knock off that doesn't have exactly the same colours and design but the same thick oval brush as I think that's what really matters for thick curly hair.
I wonder how long each of them will last. I caved and bought the fake one after seeing the video of all the girls using it, including you. I knew I should have looked it up on YT first, I really regret giving them my money after they've illegally used your videos. But I'm glad that now that I've paid for it and it's on the way it's still gonna work just as well. Thank you for this and thank you for being really honest!
Funny you mentioned the knockoff websites because I just got that ad through a game I was playing & caught my attention 100 lol I scrolled down and came across your vid so I CZcamsd reviews for it and saw you at the top right away and clicked. You can either sue them for money for using your vid unauthorized which is illegal or ask them to pay you for using it to sell the knockoffs. I bought the fake one from one of those sites she was taking about. I used it once and it was AMAZING!!! tried to use it again and it just would not get as hot as it did the first time use and I had to use my normal blow dryer with it like a blow out with around brush. Needless to say I bought the real Revlon one. Which I should of done the first time. The Revlon also has more air vents then the fake one. Just pay the extra money for the legit one the first time.
Honestly I feel like both sides are gorgeous but the knock off side looks like it is a bit more straight at the top! I’m so thankful u made this video because I just bought the knock off on Amazon and I wanted to see someone review it!

I just got the knock off one and I love how my hair turned out. It gives it a lot of shine and bounce and I have very thick wavy coarse hair. I use it on the medium setting since the brush heats up quick. So far, best blow drying brush I have owned. Payed $35 shipping included.

So when I decided to buy a curling dryer brush I read lots of reviews that said their Revlon brush didn’t last long and were really disappointed (like the second time or third it quit working)so I read about the “ionizing” one and bought one off eBay for $28, exact same as the one you have. Anyways it’s been good. The disappointing thing....it doesn’t have a cool setting and as you said the top gets really hot and mine didn’t come with a glove. I’ve also read reviews of girls burning their hair on both kinds and recommendations not to leave it in one spot too long so I go through my sections of hair much faster than you do but have to go over them a lot, just alternating between different separate sections. Overall I’m very happy with it, also I use Shay moisturize curl enhancing smoothie even when I am straightening it with this brush/dryer. It has oils and keeps the hair healthy, silky, smooth, and keeps hair from damage. Glad to see your review if both products. Chow!
Now that I have used it more I’ve found it does have a cooler set that’s warm/hot but not very hot. Took a while to get the hang of it but I’m very happy with it.
I had the fake one, I loved it, it did a great job on my hair but I burnt my hand on the top! It got so hot, so I sent it back and ordered the Revlon original for €5.00 more and I can tell the difference, especially with the heat on top. I did not get a glove with mine. Hahaha!
My sister-in-law and my husband gave me the fake at Christmas. My sister-in-law bought it on the Facebook page and my husband bought it in Amazon. both took more than a month to arrive. The one my husband gave me burned the first time I used it and the one my sister-in-law gave me lasted me about two and a half months and it burned. I was so happy with that hair dryer that I was very disappointed that it only lasted a couple of months and the other not even that. I just ordered the revlon and I am very excited to have it. and I hope the revlon lasts longer.
I dont know if its just me but from the video you can see the fake revlon side 2 hairs popping out and less shine. But you cant tell the difference really if no one tells you

I bought my Revlon one at Ulta for 39 bucks, cheaper than what the knock-off version is charging! (I used a 20% off coupon at Ulta)... my advice is just wait until Ulta has a 20% off coupon and you’re good! They tend to release those coupons kinda often. I looooove mine!!
Those knock off companies are using Milabu's videos of the Revlon One Step also. 😐 I finally got mine and I love it so much! On camera the Revlon side looks shinier and with a bit more volume.
I got the knock off one for Christmas and I used it twice and it blew up. Won’t work on hi and it gets hot then goes cold and makes a popping noise. I threw it away. I’m gonna buy the Revlon soon!!
They have the same mechanism I guess. A typical blow drier is pretty straightforward, you just redesign it to add the hairbrush. Simply innovative. Thanks for this video. After watching, I'd rather check and try the cheaper one instead of buying something that is $20 more expensive. Perhaps their difference is basically how durable the built in machine is. But that's for us to confirm. They might even have the same built in machine for all we know since both are made from China. For me, I wouldn't say the other one is fake. It's just a dupe or a generic. It doesn't contain any label claiming it's a Revlon. 🤔

Great video! I love that you did a comparison! Maybe I’m biased toward the Revlon brush, but the Revlon side I think came out much shinier and bouncy than the knock off side. The Revlon brush is supposed to release negative ions that help add shine and reduce frizz and fly aways so maybe the knock off doesn’t have that. Keep using the knock off and see if you notice that or if it ends up frying your hair over time. I’m going to stick with my first love-Revlon all the way, baby! 😁

The Revlon side shines more because of the light in the room.
I also noticed more shine with the original Revlon and I like the fact that the top of it is not warm during the process of the blowing your hair 🙌🏽

I agree with him that the overall finish of the fake side was better but I could see the how the Revlon was better for the integrity of your hair because it had an all together different shine that you could see came to the surface with every finished section 😁👍🏽if you agree! They both seem great but for me I’d spend my coins on the Revlon!
I got the “fake” Dryer Volumizer and I didn’t have to use my straightener! I have curly, thick, frizzy, and highlighted hair! Mine did not smell and I used the medium setting! Get this don’t wait!

I have both..! To me, they work the same..! I love 'em..! The only difference is the tip; Revlon's is larger.
The only thing I think I like about the Revlon one is that it has a cool setting you said. The fake one doesn't and they say you should use the cool setting when you finish to seal the hair shaft to reduce frizz and breakage. It's better for your hair to do that with any hair dryer when drying your hair. Even diffusing curly hair. If the fake one has a cool setting great I want to save money then! Thanks for this video!

Hi Julissa, I have to add to this. I got the fake one and the revlon too and the fake one broke quite quickly as it burnt out because the cheap materials can’t cope with the power needed to run it. You do get what you pay for as the revlon is made with a better quality material hence why it weighs more. In the sense of time you will probably have to buy 3 fake revlon’s when the real revlon will be going strong. Buying quality will save you money in the long run xxx

Please be so careful with the fake one. I bought that because I didn’t know it was a Revlon version. I was totally satisfied with the results even that I noticed the burned plastic smell. On my second used the dryer shut off (no more than 15 minutes after I started using it). My first thought was maybe overheated. Days after I plugged it back on a power protection tablet, so I turned it on and nothing happened but suddenly fire started coming out from the brush. Thanks God I unplugged so fast and threw it away from the carpet. Honestly I didn’t claim the warranty while I’m not interested to try it again, but I let the company know about the dangerous incident. Please be careful
I e had the fake one for almost a year and it does my hair really well. Even right now with the quarantine when I desperately need a relaxer - it leaves my hair nice. I got it from Amazon too- I’m with you if I’m gonna order a knock off it will be from Amazon.

Pros: it did a really good job and it’s quick!
Cons: very loud. The actual brush doesn’t over heat at all but I was SWEATING and had my air con on freezing!

I actually had bought that very same one thinking it was the Revlon one, it was even more expensive... the bristles fell off and I found that it took forever to dry and yes it the tip got really hot... I have shorter hair so I need to hold the tip to have more control on the hair. I returned it and got the Revlon as soon as it was back in stock. So much better!
The smell goes away after one use. If you read the manual it tells you it may smell weird initially.
I bought a knock off Amazon one and it was $30 for the machine and also came with a brush cleaner, clips, and rubber bands. Hope it works well
*Update: y'all, this is a gamechanger. Dried my thick wavy hair right out of the shower I'm about 30 mins. Love it!

The only thing is I wouldn’t consider it a “fake”. There are a lot of unbranded dupes out there for many different items. It would be a fake or knockoff if the Amazon product was labeled Revlon. Awesome comparison video though & I’m happy with the outcome.
I got the fake revlon thinking it was the real one. It's TRUE! The fake one does a good job. You would never know. The first time it smelt like something was burning but soon went away. I did my daughters thick curly in 45 minutes. Thanks Julissa.

I would recommend only because it works for my budget. However, I do believe Julissa did a great demonstration of the two side by side. Best of Luck in your decision.

When you send your plans to a manufacturing company sometimes they then own the rights to that design or they will resell it illegally to another company so multiple companies end up remaking the same product with cosmetic changes to the design or cheaper materials.

Might be due to the lighting, but I feel that the Revlon side is shinier and has a more sleek look!! Just due to the hot top the fake one has, I would pay extra for the Revlon anyway!! It was a great review!

The fake ones dont last as log as the revlon one and the patents are intact but China will still make knockoffs because they can and people are cheap

No these companies are dropshipping products through websites like AliExpress. They create their own sites through normally Shopify, list products, jack up the prices, and then buy the products through AliExpress for less than they listed. However, the customer pays the inflated price. Most sellers on AliExpress are okay with dropshipping because it increases their sales.

I guess paying influencers and making your own high quality videos is exactly where they spare the cost the brand name ones put on their retail price ;) I bought a knock off that doesn't have exactly the same colours and design but the same thick oval brush as I think that's what really matters for thick curly hair.
I wonder how long each of them will last. I caved and bought the fake one after seeing the video of all the girls using it, including you. I knew I should have looked it up on YT first, I really regret giving them my money after they've illegally used your videos. Funny you mentioned the knockoff websites because I just got that ad through a game I was playing & caught my attention 100 lol I scrolled down and came across your vid so I CZcamsd reviews for it and saw you at the top right away and clicked. You can either sue them for money for using your vid unauthorized which is illegal or ask them to pay you for using it to sell the knockoffs. I bought the fake one from one of those sites she was taking about. I used it once and it was AMAZING!!! tried to use it again and it just would not get as hot as it did the first time use and I had to use my normal blow dryer with it like a blow out with around brush. Needless to say I bought the real Revlon one. Which I should of done the first time. The Revlon also has more air vents then the fake one. Just pay the extra money for the legit one the first time.

I just got the knock off one and I love how my hair turned out. It gives it a lot of shine and bounce and I have very thick wavy coarse hair. I use it on the medium setting since the brush heats up quick. So far, best blow drying brush I have owned. Payed $35 shipping included.

So when I decided to buy a curling dryer brush I read lots of reviews that said their Revlon brush didn’t last long and were really disappointed (like the second time or third it quit working)so I read about the “ionizing” one and bought one off eBay for $28, exact same as the one you have. Anyways it’s been good. The disappointing thing....it doesn’t have a cool setting and as you said the top gets really hot and mine didn’t come with a glove. I’ve also read reviews of girls burning their hair on both kinds and recommendations not to leave it in one spot too long so I go through my sections of hair much faster than you do but have to go over them a lot, just alternating between different separate sections. Overall I’m very happy with it, also I use Shay moisturize curl enhancing smoothie even when I am straightening it with this brush/dryer. It has oils and keeps the hair healthy, silky, smooth, and keeps hair from damage. Glad to see your review if both products. Chow!
Now that I have used it more I’ve found it does have a cooler set that’s warm/hot but not very hot. Took a while to get the hang of it but I’m very happy with it.
I had the fake one, I loved it, it did a great job on my hair but I burnt my hand on the top! It got so hot, so I sent it back and ordered the Revlon original for €5.00 more and I can tell the difference, especially with the heat on top. I did not get a glove with mine. Hahaha!

My sister-in-law and my husband gave me the fake at Christmas. My sister-in-law bought it on the Facebook page and my husband bought it in Amazon. both took more than a month to arrive. The one my husband gave me burned the first time I used it and the one my sister-in-law gave me lasted me about two and a half months and it burned. I was so happy with that hair dryer that I was very disappointed that it only lasted a couple of months and the other not even that. I just ordered the revlon and I am very excited to have it. and I hope the revlon lasts longer.
I dont know if its just me but from the video you can see the fake revlon side 2 hairs popping out and less shine. But you cant tell the difference really if no one tells you

Smell is ions. That means that is softening and defrizzing your hair. And the 'fake' side looks much silkier.
I bought my Revlon one at Ulta for 39 bucks, cheaper than what the knock-off version is charging! (I used a 20% off coupon at Ulta)... my advice is just wait until Ulta has a 20% off coupon and you’re good! They tend to release those coupons kinda often. I looooove mine!!

I got the knock off one for Christmas and I used it twice and it blew up. Won’t work on hi and it gets hot then goes cold and makes a popping noise. I threw it away. I’m gonna buy the Revlon soon!!

They have the same mechanism I guess. A typical blow drier is pretty straightforward, you just redesign it to add the hairbrush. Simply innovative. Thanks for this video. After watching, I'd rather check and try the cheaper one instead of buying something that is $20 more expensive. Perhaps their difference is basically how durable the built in machine is. But that's for us to confirm. They might even have the same built in machine for all we know since both are made from China. For me, I wouldn't say the other one is fake. It's just a dupe or a generic. It doesn't contain any label claiming it's a Revlon. 🤔

Great video! I love that you did a comparison! Maybe I’m biased toward the Revlon brush, but the Revlon side I think came out much shinier and bouncy than the knock off side. The Revlon brush is supposed to release negative ions that help add shine and reduce frizz and fly aways so maybe the knock off doesn’t have that. Keep using the knock off and see if you notice that or if it ends up frying your hair over time. I’m going to stick with my first love-Revlon all the way, baby! 😁

From what I can see the side of he hair that you used the Revlon with looks like it has more volume.
The smell is probably from the materials used to make it. I will get the Revlon, because I trust they will have non-toxic materials and safety application provided. Thanks a mill love.
