    Here is a link to a video I did on how to inspect your Honda & Acura V6 engine mounts... • Engine Mount Inspectio...

    Hard to find videos on the V6s. The procedure is very nicely broken down. You are a real pro. I would not attempt this one, but now I know to keep these mounts maintained.

    Awesome video!!! Thanks for the detail. I'll be replacing these on my 2006 Honda Accord V6 this week. I just passed 300,000 miles (original owner) and look forward to doing much of my own service with the help of your videos. Keep up the great work and thanks for helping.

      160 for a set? Are they oem. If aftermarket, did you have any vibrations like many people are experiencing with aftermarket parts

    First of all - great video! Do you know if lets say the vacuum line isn't attached to front/rear engine mount, will a driver be able to tell or there would be a light on the instrument cluster?

  • @MagicHandDrawingandElse

    Great video, are those mounts same for the accord 2002 v6 as well? Any link that can help me to get the genuine but online not dealer, they are to expensive. Thank you and also thanks for the video.

    Great video. Thanks. Any suggestion on how to get the two 17mm bolts loose? I tried breaker bar, wd40, 250ft-lb 1/2 impact wrench. None of these worked. I’m out of ideas. Help please.

    • @banstaman
      @banstaman Před 4 lety

      Really soak those in penetrating oil for at least a day; then use your half inch-drive breaker bar. If it's your first time removing them, I'd suggest you get new bolts and re-thread the hole. Removed mine for the timing belt and they were rotten.

    • @msthornmac
      @msthornmac Před 2 lety

      No, that is the easiest and most effective one to replace. Only did that one so far, and it fixed my problem. The engine was lifting up like 6 inches when I revved it, and it hopped when shifting gears...thought my tranny was slipping, but now it runs beautifully and no more scraping sound! Thanks Rix!

    Do I have to jack the engine to take just the right passenger motor mount off?

    • @rixautomotive910
      @rixautomotive910  Před 4 lety +1

      Technically no however supporting the engine will minimize the stress on the other engine mounts. Once passenger mount is loosened/removed the engine will shift slightly.

      Thanks for watching! All labor rates are provided by resources such as OEM’s, AllData, Mitchell etc. and all are pretty consistent. Variable will be the shop labor rates.

    I don’t have a vehicle lift. Can this be done with a floor jack Or would that torque the engine as you lower it?

    • @bosunchair13
      @bosunchair13 Před 3 lety

      Floor jack works. I didn’t loosen the bracket for the front mount either. You can pull it up by the radiator hoses.

      It appears that by the time the passenger side mount goes bad, the front mount has already gone bad. RIX Automotive shows how to tell if the front mount has gone bad in one of his other video. Very helpful video.

    Should have torque specs. Most professional mechanics do by feel. Backyarders need to have torque specs. Wondering why not in video.

    Good job, but it's very brief, besides, these mounts in video don't fit all types of honda v6 (Acura pilot odessy)! as it depends on generation, year and model.
