David Brown It cost more than the kind in the bags so maybe not. What you are paying for here is the container that is designed to retain the right moisture level. That doesn't come cheap compared to a normal plastic bag, or paper sack.
Very nice straight forward video. Also.. Thanks for letting us read the text on the can for ourselves instead of reciting the whole thing. It's the little things that make the difference
It's,WHITE popcorn, normally a smaller kernal. I remember that popcorn. Shaking the pan is a waste, I make stovetop all the time, no need to shake, I use higher heat. Can't believe no one knows how to cook popcorn
Keep it on the burner and shake it back and forth, you didn't have the lid on to get the right temper and every time you took it off the heat to shake it with no lid on temp dropped etc. You should of made it the way you're supposed to make popcorn with the lid on, and shake it on the burner back and forth! Rrrr....
@@pauli6043 Yeah, I was just thinking of Jiffy Pop, and how we left it on the burner while constantly shaking it. If I remember correctly, Jiffy Pop was more fun to make than it was to eat! Of course, I also remember those electric popping machines back in the 70s, with a compartment at the top for butter, which would melt and drip into the popcorn as it heated up.
If popcorn is stored properly it should last a very long time. When I was growing up my family grew baby popcorn. We shelled it ourselves too. Then you have to air it out to get all the bits out that weren’t the kernels. We ate a lot of popcorn growing up. Our baby popcorn didn’t have any hulls either. It was great!
First time ive seen you munch out on decades old food rather then just taking a simple bite out of it. But I guess old popcorn wont really hurt anything if its kept sealed and dried.
I bought some Amish popcorn the other day, the kernels looked like those in the video. I think they’re probably more “natural” than the ones we get from the grocery store today.

1954 probably the same brand ward and June would fix for Wally and the Beaver. The container looks like new amazing. I like the video thank you.
My mom probably made it me.
David Brown It cost more than the kind in the bags so maybe not. What you are paying for here is the container that is designed to retain the right moisture level. That doesn't come cheap compared to a normal plastic bag, or paper sack.
Wow, that can looked like you bought it at the store yesterday. Awesome stuff. Keep em coming.
I Don't bother with shaking, the popping makes it move enough
Keep it on the burner and shake it back and forth, you didn't have the lid on to get the right temper and every time you took it off the heat to shake it with no lid on temp dropped etc. You should of made it the way you're supposed to make popcorn with the lid on, and shake it on the burner back and forth! Rrrr....
Should've.
Obviously he is too young to remember Jiffy Pop. You always kept the aluminum tin right on the gas flame
Paul I jiffy pop is not real popcorn
Mesmerized for reasons I cannot explain.
*It's amazing how prices go up over the years. BTW good video!*
It was great!
perfect to eat while watching 1960s movies
Like Bullitt or something.
Really cool I'm near Massachusetts luv ur channel
Your shows are all I watch anymore.
Looks like modern day heirloom corn when popped. Kernels look skinner and loner than today
An unopened can of this brand and year just sold for $3650 at auction 2 months ago......do you have anymore??
@Jesus Will Reign agree :]
This Is AWESOME! I love and Collect old cans myself.
Idk how I found ur channel, but I’m glad I did lol
First time ive seen you munch out on decades old food rather then just taking a simple bite out of it. But I guess old popcorn wont really hurt anything if its kept sealed and dried.
I get the feeling you're not going to have a jolly time after eating that stuff.
Wow that's crazy! Added to survival list! You're the man!
I like your voice and love for vintage. 😍
Quite suspenseful. LOL
I bought some Amish popcorn the other day, the kernels looked like those in the video. I think they’re probably more “natural” than the ones we get from the grocery store today.
Nicole 1988 It is just a different variety.
I just discovered this channel, and i am having a blast....testing food from decades ago...HA!...god i love the internet.
Idk why it’s so heartwarming when he gets excited it’s popping
