Ahoy my friends! Today I'm going to be showing you guys how to take down the new Shiva EX1 Summon Battle! At first this fight through me for a loop as I think it did with a lot of people, but actually it's not super terrible considering you have all of the FREE Summon Battle weapons! So make sure you finish getting all of the IFRIT Weapons OB10 + the IFRIT/BAHAMUT Weapons OB10 as well as they are going to make this fight MUCH EASIER!! NOTE* In the video i say that Shiva targets the char with the highest ICE RES, but i can confirm due to some awesome players that is HIGHEST HP. She targets the char with the highest HP!!! For Heavenly Strike, that is! Once that is said and done, it's simply a task to memorize the mechanics, which I will be bringing up a notepad memo of the mechanics of this fight (though I forgot to put that Shiva will AoE Silence before her Heavenly Strike as well as Diamond Dust) Hope the guide helps you all get the clear!! Yesterday I defeated Shiva EX2, made some tweaks to amp up MDEF and Ice Resist, she almost wiped the team with the last Diamond Dust but Zack came in clutch with that Fira materia I never used since I had Ignition Stream the whole fight. With Red being the buff and debuff support and Tifa the Goat Healer and diamond sigil breaker, everyone had decent magic attack so everyone had a Fira materia. It was an interesting fight overall !
@@BodhiJMSRyder I haven't used Red's new weapon even though it's really good. He was my AoE MDEF buffer and my MATK debuffer. As for Zack, his weapon was OB6 or 7 I think, and I had Crystal Sword OB10 so I had a bunch of Fire Potency. It's difficult to optimize Zack, I couldn't max any R.Abilities with him but you still deal heavy amounts of damage, it's sweet.
Those ice resistant R. abilities are SO crucial! I've been trying out a team of Zack, Barrett, and Red and I can survive the initial Diamon Dust, but Red as a healer was not cutting it. I swapped him out for Aerith and I wanted to see how well she would do with high Mdef compared to Ice res. She had 190 Mdef(Zach and Barrett are about 150ish, HP about 11k, and Ice res for Zach is level 5, for Barrett level 3). With about 9k hp Aerith was still one shot by Diamon Dust. I'm going to try Matt next as a healer and use his new LB to get rid of the super Matk buff Shiva gives herself and see how that works. But I may just have to switch my party to Physical setup. I don't have any good Magic fire weapons and I didn't get Zacks Fire arcanum outfit. Cloud has the outfit and OB10 Skysplitter, so prob try pairing him with either Red or Seph, and then prob Matt for the healer.
@@BodhiJMSRyder Yea I can get past the first one no prob, It's just keeping up with healing, damaging enough to keep her bar from getting full, and being able to break her sigil phase. I can either do enough damage to keep her bar from filling, but then I'm behind on healing and she KO's someone during the sigil phase.
@@BodhiJMSRyder I tried Cloud with OB10 Skysplitter but its still not enough. My only other option is the Ifrit weapon for Zach at OB10, but that's only doing 450% so still not great. My issue is I have to put too much in my subweapons to be able to survive and that severally hinders my DPS. The BahaIfrit weapons I have only 5 star, and all the other weapons I have with Ice res are OB3.
Just wanted to say, having things written down was very helpful. Such a thorough video. I loved it. I'm not there yet but, eh. I'm struggling with the Very Hard fights. -_- Don't have that kind of patience and I get frustrated easily. It's also nice to know that a lot of the free and farmable weapons are very helpful. I think that's great for f2p and low spend.

Thank you for the strategy, I finally cleared it! Only comment I have is to change Matt for Tifa. He has better healing and the Bahamut Rapier for diamond sigil break.
Red xiii is absolutely the MVP of this fight. Farmable fire rest down weapon? Check. 40 points fire resist on the weapon? Check. Matk downs weapon? Check. If you pulled the crossover costume while going for tifa, that’s just the icing on the cake. He absolutely tanks everything in that fight, especially the icicle drop that hits your others for so much more. One slight clarification is the icicle drop targets whoever has the most current hp right before she starts to charge it. That should theoretically always be your character with the highest ice resist since they took the least damage from her, but I was running into some issues where she kept targeting my Zack all of a sudden and it was because I changed gear giving him more hp than my red xiii and Matt was healing everyone back up to full health right before the icicle drop. My red xiii could tank the hit with like 5k hp left with all his resist, but if my Zack was hit he’d be left with only 1-2k hp and I don’t have enough time to recover after that.

Yea I'm going to have to grind those BahaIfrit weapons. I just can't do it with the weapons I have available. I've tried numerous different setups and teams and I just can't keep up with heals and debuffing.
Recommendation for doing that, don't farm on 9X stamina, it's great for memories, but it wastes major stamina since you want 5* weapon drops, and running the quest more times gives you a higher chance imo! I run it at 3x stamina boost for weapon drops
@@gregoryhawthorne89 It doesn't change physical or magical for me, the fact is that I only pulled on physical ones because since Christmas or since I started they have only released physical elementals, apart from water tifa which didn't convince me at all the weapon, and Aerith fire but having already a cloud that I prefer to leave alone
I have a zack, cloud, and matt that just can't do it. I really think you need your zack to be able to do good fire dps/the outfit/the limit weapon, because him on just twilight doesn't cut it- I feel like matt is sorta flexable to swap with tifa, but for the third slot Yuffie might be a substitute? Or Sephiroth?
Depends, if you have Red’s Hellhound costume he’s really good. And it is doable with a Fire Magic Arcanum set, just really have to min-max the team and memorize the fight 🙏🏽
is there any way to win this battle without the Matt or Red 13 matAtk LB nullifier? i always lose at the diamond sigil break phase, because she keeps killing my team during that. I have a fully maxed out Fire Zack, but still cant win because of that phase. My mains are Sephiroth, Zack and Aerith. But i feel like that combo is useless, because no one got the Diamond Sigil break.
i try to use Defaith and ZAcks Twinkling star during that phase, but she still kills me, beacuse i cant heal up and defaith her at the same time, or atleast not good enough, to survive.
You can beat the fight without a Sigil break weapon for sure, the remove atk LB def helps tho you would prob have to run Twinkling Star on Zack OB6 and spam it once sigil phase starts to break her matk.
For Red, i mean you should be able to use him as his imperil is free and can be OB10 + his matk down wep you really only need 1 copy to use it in this fight. I say switch Seph to Red 🙏🏽
Shiva does not target the highest ice resist person. She did 1 time for me, then hits my aerith the next 6 times when she is lowest ice resist and mdef. She has 4mdef and 2 ice resist, versus tifa 5 and 5. Edit, just did more testing, its whoever has the highest hp. Im going to assume its highest current hp cause first fight that targeted tifa, i didnt have everyone capped so she was probably highest current. Aerith being targeted was cause i did have everyone topped off and she had highest hp. Just dropped her to lowest hp, and now zack got targeted instead of tifa(he was 2nd highest hp). Its def not ice resist being targeted.
I made it with free weapon with Zack, red13 and Matt(coud be tifa but i try matt) and honestly it was very easy. I done it on the second try. But then ex2 come, and its not work , i cant break her stage to zero. Its only possible i think if two person have ob4 magic fire weapon or something like that i think.
Also I just cleared it and instead of giving herself a stack of MATK up at sigil, she added MDEF down stacks to the party instead? Did this fight change?
I mean unless they changed it, and i fought this fight and Shiva EX2 at least 2 dozen times, she will always target the char with the highest HP for Heavenly Strike (this is not total HP but CURRENT HP) just to note! At least as far as I remember it’s been a bit haha

Are you casting Defaith and then matk break to high tier before the DD?

At the time my Matt was way less leveled hence Tifa, but yeah Matt is super solid 🙏🏽 Also Tifa has Bahamut Knuckles as well for sigil break

i cant inflict enough fire damage to decrease the bar :( your weapons are like ob 11 im like ob 6
EX2 was cleared by a F2P player with fire materia as his main source of damage, so its definitely doable with less than OB6

Beats me but the MDEF down is probably from Arctic Breath which she AoE casts before the Heavenly Strike going into sigil phase. Grats on the clear 😁🍻
