Woke up this morning early to a freezer meltdown! Spent my day canning meat. Yâall NEED to have a pressure canner and learn how to use it. I am so grateful for a friend who taught me this skill three years ago. Right now, my empty freezer is up and running again but that canner and knowing how to use it has saved us a lot of heartache. *JUST A QUICK NOTE*
Ladies, especially to us single ladies, (I am nearly 60, single for a long time)
There's nights that I feel like satan is just waiting for me to try going to sleep, depressing thoughts try creeping in, thoughts like "you can't", your too old, blah blah blah. I just want to encourage you and remind you #1 God hears us, he knows our needs, he knows our heart. That doesn't mean we are to set around and do nothing thinking he is going to send door dash to our front door lol, but I truly believe our efforts will not go unnoticed. If you are watching people like Patera I can nearly guarantee as far as your skills and prepping inventory goes you are in the top 10% of Americans that has a fighting chance to survive whatever our future holds. So give yourself a slap on the back and a thumbs up.
Times may get alot tougher, everything we are doing today only helps eliminate future stress.
Thank you to the people that leave comments, regarding helpful suggestions on different things that they have learned or figured out, especially when it comes to herbs and natural remedies. Those are priceless especially the ones that grandparents and great grandparents passed down, that is knowledge that is hard to find.
God bless you.
I love this, thank you for your comment!!!

We could not get wheat flour at Omaha or Wichita. The North and South Mill in Omaha are 65 years old and the mill in Wichita is 23 years old. But neither one was working last week because a shortage of wheat. Put wheat flour on your list now. Buy it now. Just my view

I finally bought a pressure cooker yesterday. Pray for me not to blow myself up.
I had mine for 2 years before I used it.. lol. I didn't want to kill myself or anyone else with the food I've canned. Three years later everyone is alive and well fed. You'll be fine.. go for it!!
You can do it! I bought one 3 years ago and taught myself to can. I like to can meat. I buy chicken, pork loin, ground beef on sale. Iâve got a nice stash canned now. Good luck to you!
I was nervous at first too. Just read the instructions and follow them. It ends up so easy. Been canning for 6 yrs now.
Have fun.

73 Male and thought I had all my preps . Broke my hip in February and could not reach the phone to call 911 .
Was on the floor for 6 hours ( 11pm to 4am ) . Had a cell phone on the table I could reach (only use the cell phone for emergency"s-so forgot I had one ) . Then the paramedics could not find my hidden key to enter my house (live alone ) . Who would think you could not open your door or could not call for help . Could have died in my home .
My guardian angle reminded me I had a cell phone and that saved my life ! -preps I forgot .

I just finished canning 39 quarts of peaches from my tree. First time it has produced fruit in 3 years in upstate New York. God has truly blessed my homestead this year.
During the shut down, after standing in a line for an hour at the grocery store, six feet from everyone to buy a couple of things, I made up my mind, never again will that ever happen to me.
We are ALL here at this time in history for a Purpose. Let that light shine for others.

For the Bibles, save them and hide them. But also hide the Word in your heart. You never know when that physical Bible won't be available. Just think of our persecuted brothers and sisters who are blessed to have a page of Scripture. Some have nothing if they are in prison.

Just remember the best defense for power out in cold is to also protect your pipes! Invest in a cheap ventless propane heater. It'll cost a few hundred to get it hooked up and a propane tank filled. But you'll be thankful you have it. When everybody needs a plumber to repair pipes after a winter outage, it makes for a miserably long wait.
One thing you need more than anything else is the ability to keep calm and think clearly in a crisis situation. If you panic, everything falls apart.
Like the late Douglas Adams wrote in the Hitchhiker's Guide, "Don't Panic."
Be a hoopy frood who knows where your towel is at.
PATERA,I have a little tip that maybe you could put out there to our communities. Canned foods, dont rely on the paper labels on your cans, use a permanant marker to write the contents of the can on the lid. That paper on the can can go away very easily from numerous reasons. Nothing more aggravating than a can with no label. Mark your cans with the content. Trust me on this
I also use a marker to write the exp date on the FRONT of the can and then use the older cans first. I live in a small apartment so my space is limited. I can't stock 10 of everything!
Definitely busier than a bee and sweating like a goat on a tin roof. Please Pray up,keep prepping like no tomorrow bc we r in f a bumpy_ chaotic ride,so put ur Armor of God on and lets do this.â€â€â€â€

When buying candles for storage get unscented candles. When you are burning several and they all smell it can be overload very quickly.
Buy solar lights that people use in their yards. If you can only afford Dollar Tree lights get them. Lights from the big box stores work better. Charge them during the day and bring them in at night. Works great and is much safer than candles.
Personal care products such as feminine hygiene products. Life will be stressful enough without worrying about pads and tampons.
Have a backup plan in case your toilet doesnât work. Be extremely careful where you would dump the waste. You donât want to contaminate your area and make everyone sick.
Have extra vinegar and baking soda. You can use both for many purposes including cleaning.
5 gallon buckets are great storage containers. They are also waterproof so important items can go in them too.
Donât be too concerned about expiration dates. Those are âsuggestedâ dates and a way to get you to throw away good food and buy more.
My husband and I started prepping in 2008 when the housing market crashed. We had just about all the bases covered. We moved out of state in 2018 and could not bring everything. So much has happened to us since we moved. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and my husband had a major heart attack. Our chances of making it through a major event are not the best now but you can bet we will go down fighting.

Yes, everyone DOES need a bug out bag, because it may not be a choice if you are forced to evacuate immediately or are running out the door in an emergency. You would NOT CHOOSE to have a house fire, a train derailment chemical spill in your neighborhood, a wildfire, extreme flooding or a medical emergency for a member of your household. Being able to grab a bag with cash, snacks, water bottles, change of clothing, first aid kit and flashlight could be life saving when seconds count!

@@susan8010 4 year old canned food?đ serious question.
Who is JD??
A couple of weeks ago I told my nephew and his partner that they need to be stocking up. She said "we know where you live". I was speechless! Down the road, how willing should I be to help someone who doesn't care to help themselves?
Tell them the price of admission--- bring your own preps and willingness to do hard work!!!!!!!
Tell them your not storing extra so stock up
I would tell your nephew and his partner that you will share, only if they contribute.
Tell them that is revolting AND offensive!!!!!
â@@erock4319You may need to explain that very clearly.
I went to a big box store today and did a stock up of 'stuff'. I focused on food and household cleaners and laundry detergent. Buddied up with a friend and we stuck together like glue in the store and parking lot. Stopped when the cart was full. Sticker shock on check out but I'm thankful for what I can add to my pantry.
I got a puppy not long ago. I thought I had a good stock of first aid supplies. Oh no I didn't. Puppy and I were playing one day and I ended up with a bit of a gash on my wrist. I was amazed at how quickly I worked through my supplies and my Epsom salt. And a prescription antibiotic cream good for dog bites was used and quickly used up.
For those just starting out - don't be discouraged. I started my pantry build by slowly accumulating cloth napkins and kitchen towels. Bought those used at thrift stores. I then used the money I used to spend buying disposables for my pantry build. And I keep it simple - if I'm buying something for a recipe, I'll buy two. One for today and one for the pantry. Over time the pantry grew and was built around what I actually used.
A commode (most local pharmacies have them) and boxes of disposable bags (sold in boxes of 1,000) and antibacterial wipes. Going potty is important!!!

@@troianncsw Thank goodness they passed the infrastructure bill in Congress, other Federal programs are working on improving the grid, and that locally many communities are working on making thier grids more efficient. Meanwhile, pray for filled resinous and snow pack.
Great idea!
A friend called it âLittle House on the Prairieâ weekend and had a fun time with her family. The children likes it so much that they made it a monthly event.
We used a lot of paper plates, plastic forks, plastic spoons, paper towels and aluminum baking pans, and foil for the bbq pit during the recent outage with hurricane Beryl. It sure made it easier for clean up without having to boil your water for dirty dishes.
Canned 16 quarts of marinara and bought 80lbs of cat food today. Thanks for the great list @Patara đ
I thought you said Mari Juana! Had to read that a second time. lol
â@@tootsnoname8586ha ha I had to look twice too đ
@@InGODitrust5and2 Iâm glad to see I wasnât the only one
đđđđđ I seriously read it the same , the I see the comments đat least I wasn't the only one đ
How do you store your cat food? I've got 4 cats and I've been storing extra bags in totes but they start to smell like plastic. Thanks!
Good morning everyone praying for this country
Great thing about these long lists are that they are a great resource and reminder that you should always be watching out for items that will be helpful. I appreciate your efforts!!! No one can honestly be too prepared.
Hope yall are boosting immune systems
Lots of Honey, Maple syrup, pancake mix, oatmeal. Honey and Maple syrup will last forever.
Seeds! Many stores are clearing out summer stock. You can find seeds for 25c or 10 for $1.00. Most seeds that are marked 2024 will work just fine in 2025.
Keep them dry and cold,
freezer, refrigerator, celler are all better than just in a box at room temp
Thank you been awake for ever and everyone thinks I'm crazy and when I listen to u I know I'm not u so make me smile and cry at the same time I spiritually love youall Timothy đč in Texarkana Texas
Amen. Love you too brother. :) Endure.
Big hugs to you, itâs tough being awake and aware. Your not alone brother. â€
Could I suggest a basic cookbook? So many depend on the Internet for recipes.
Kitchen matches are a great self-defense tool when you know how to use them. Remember that if they ban ammunition and the means to deliver it, you are going to want kitchen matches. 15k match heads in a container, complete with fast burning fuse, will stop any threat in its tracks
Different topic. If you're a person who lives and works in a major metropolitan city like Boston, you may not necessarily need a vehicle to get around for your daily business because of the subway and public transportation systems. However, you will need one stored in a 20 X 30 unit outside the city limits, and a good bicycle to get to it, so you can exfiltrate out of the city if things go downhill quickly (or start looking that way).
Keep up with your laundry. If the power goes out I don't want to do tons of laundry by hand.
I think of this very often!!!!!
Per your list, we have everything we need. We've been doing preps since 2010 for a time like this. God speed and blessings!đ
Asthma patients make sure you have your nebulizer, emergency inhaler, epi-pen, and medicine stocked up.
Yes! You can get these from THe Wellness Company along with the âVitamin Iâ for the vid.đ
Yes!
Yes my son has Asthma đ
Be sure you have a nebulizer that runs in batteries also for back up
@@Arizonagirl1981 the wellness company is not for us. Be careful
Never throw away glass jars and lids!
Great list.
I'd add olive oil too. I use this not only for cooking but also for making herbal oils to yse in salves, soaps, lotions. The price of our cooking oils and mayonnaise also have gone up tremendously.
Canning, dehydrating, building up everything. Love to all!
After you stock pile all your food and paper products, stockpile gold and silver to protect your wealth against a falling currency. And remember all fiat currencies go to zero value over time as history has proved.
I feel so blessed...the various granddaughters and nieces want to start vegetable gardens. The oldest suggested everyone could grow lots of what they are good at, and then everyone share around. I do believe they've got it đ

Make sure you have manual can openers,at least a couple they ware out
Greetings I went to a local military surplus and purchased several military P38 can openers for .25 cent each đ€đđșđž
I'm cleaning, and rearranging closets and cabinets to make room for items I need. Thanks Patara for the list.
Single yard solar lights ( leave tags in so battery doesn't die), Amazon box in closet keep adding $1.25 lights @Dollar Store & Tree. Solar flashlights, hand crank/ solar radio, manual can openers, long handled forks/spoons for cooking on a open fire, pot holders, dish towels, kerosene lamp and fuels, matches/ lighters, tarps, zip ties assorted sizes, rechargeable batteries/ charger.
A whistle.
Yes, a whistle on your keychain, for safety.
This hit me so hard, I felt like we we're sitting in the car together just going over the last little tid bits as Mama says, just to check off an see what else we missed. I personally would love a generator, but I'm prepared to be as old fashion as possible! The part you said we are the chosen people to save humanity...a tear rolled down my face. Keep us precious Lord đđœđ
Even a small generator and gas cans would be a great work saver.
I would suggest planning for family members that may need to bug out to your home. My children have pets, so I'm going to purchase litter boxes and other assorted supplies that they would need. Get rid of your junk and make room for the supplies you will need to store. Being organized helps lessen the stress.
Great idea! Iâm sure that my children and their cats will come to my house when something happens.
I bought school supplies. Pencils, pens ,paper, crayons, tape, glue. Great for drawing maps, leave notes for family, making a list... Also crayons and paper for stressed out kids. Drawing helps kids understand the chaos of life
I LOVE, LOVE some of the pictures my grandkids made for me!! Have an album of them.
I was thinking small simple toys for kids to play with. Especially if you have to hit the road in an emergency type situation.
Perfect timing, Iâm sitting on my butt instead of building the new chicken coop. You are such a motivator!!
She is! I put her on and play it in my ear. And keep working
I have the 2 doors that I have to build for my goat barn to finish the exteriorm! But I have to wait until the 4 foot weeds die back so I can find the wood!
Reinforce your doors with longer nails.
@@monicaluketich6913or you could use a weed eater , or pen the goats in that area they will clear out the weeds
Agree with everything on the list. Hank Williams Jr suggests a shotgun, a rifle, and a 4 wheel drive, and I agree with him as well. We have a 1 year old German Shepherd who is very sweet with our family but vary wary and distrusting of strangers and very alert in the house of what is outside. Although the mailman is not a fan, I recommend a good dog.
In a real emergency you need breathing protection. A buddy always says, if you canât breathe, you canât fight or survive.
