  • o I picked up this little paddle from Ham Radio Outlet recently to continue my re-learning of CW. Overall, not a bad little paddle. Check it out!

My wire kit was different -- the red one was the dit and the yellow one was the dah - not a problem, it is so easy to put on and off that it was easy to change.

Agree.. He has his wired backwards from so many others I've tried. But.. to each their own.

Mr Art Adams below comments on how the iconic Bencher paddles hold their settings better than the MFJ 564 and that's most likely the case. However, the 564 is no slouch. While MFJ produces a lot of crap in terms of workmanship, form, and function, this is one "me too" product that is pretty decent. If you find one of these at a swap meet or a friend is off-loading one for a reasonable price, don't pass it up. They make decent backups and, frankly, I take mine out to POTA and FD where they stand up pretty well.

Kool Key and nice overview! I need to pick one of those up, as no shack is complete with out, lol.

MFJ's rip off of bencher's design only the MFJ version won't stay adjusted properly - adjustments slip; get a bencher or a vibroplex

Great video Steve! I thought about trying Cw with the kids. May still do it later.

Definitely do it. I highly recommend the Long Island cw club... also the g4fon trainer. Thanks for watching!

Killer video! I have a Bencher and Vibroplex and need to get myself in gear and learn to decipher it! I can send ok.

Yeah, I can copy some of it... but I'm getting better. MFJ just sent me a CW Decoder I am going to check out. I don't want to rely on it, but I imagine it would help while learning.

Whether you can send ok or not is not up to you. It's up to someone trying to copy you!

I think if you add we40 to the base it will limit finger prints. that is what I do with my refrigerator

I will give that a shot, thanks for the tip! Thanks for watching!

Tell us again where you got the wire kit? I have passed on a couple of key’s because I was unable to source the wiring kit. Thank you for your time.

I got it from HRO as well... they have a few to choose from. I have them in my Amazon store as well. Thanks for watching!

WD40 in my previous comment rather than we40
