In a way, this song's nostalgia for a literal outdated cap is charming. This was the cap the soviets used since their foundation as the main ruling councils of russia and the larger Soviet Union. So i can understand the root of this song. They couldn't let their "old comrade" leave just like that after serving for so many years without a proper tribute.
