"Barnesy" was a poor Scottish immigrant who used his music to escape the squalor of his childhood. As the lead singer of rock band "Cold Chisel" he was at the forefront of what we colloquially call "pub rock". Their song "Khe Sahn" is Australia's "Born in the USA" and most Aussies have learnt it by osmosis by the time they are old enough to be singing it along with modern pub bands or jukeboxes. Barnesy's solo career continued after the band and here in 2021 he has a new album out.

I've always loved Jimmy, both with ad without Cold Chisel, BUT over the last 8+ months of "lockdown" due to Covid in Melbourne Australia, Jimmy and his extended (multi talented) family have helped keep me relatively sane by daily sharing their home and their music with us Aussies.....it's been soooo healing. Thanks Jimmy and clan

I was privileged to say that I’ve enjoyed listening to Jimmy Barnes through the 70’s 80’s with Cold Chisel and Jimmy Barnes as a solo artist through the 90’s till present day. I’ve enjoyed watching him performing live . He’s a living legend of Australian music industry.

Before I listened to this, I was listening to Jimmy, his son David Campbell and his wife Jane singing Hello Dolly on Facebook, I’m serious - they were brilliant. Jimmy his wife, his children and grandchildren all sing and play together - They can sing any genre brilliantly, even the dog and new born babies are in some video. Love this song and Jimmy’s voice, the guy on the drums is jimmys son. Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham are both Australian legends. The older they get they are just like a fine wine they age well and sound just as good. As kids you often look up to older & wiser people for guidance & there are certain moments in time that are just magical & that you never forget. Glad this song took you back & reminded you of one of those times. Two songs I`m sure you would enjoy are Jimmy Barnes with Tina Turner - "Simply The Best", Jimmy Barnes & The Badloves version of - "The Weight"

Matt, I’ve been a huge blues fan all of my life. I have a large library of blues played by the best in the business dating back to the 30’s and 40’s. Name the blues player and I’ve probably got their recordings. I love Stevie Ray Vaughn and I have every CD ever put out by him and his brother, Jimmy. Stevie was a huge influence on Joe Bonamassa, as was Gary Moore, B.B. King and others. I downloaded this song right after I heard it. Love Jimmy Barnes’ voice on this track. If you haven’t already, I suggest that you check out the collaboration between Joe Bonamassa and dynamite blues singer, Beth Hart. Give a listen to them doing, “I’ll Take Care of You” and “I’d Rather Go Blind”. I know that you will really dig what you hear because their collaboration is pure blues magic.
